  1. It's seems that there is a scam run by Thai immigration crooks at the Malaysian border. When you try to return to Thailand after crossing the border into Malaysia the same day, they tell you that you can't enter Thailand unless you stayed in Malaysia at least 3 days. And of course they can let you in if you give them a "tip" of around 2000 baht. It's pretty much the same as the "stay overnight in Cambodia" thing. However, the difference is that in case of Cambodia, it's enforced by Cambodian IOs, who don't let you out of the country unless you give them a "tip". Some people say that it's an actual rule in Cambodia, although I doubt that. But in case of Thailand, this scam is run on the Thai side. There is sure no Thai law saying that you need to stay in Malaysia 3 days before you can come back to Thailand.
  2. Compared to China, Patong is a heaven!
  3. Not if we're talking about smart thieves. If they take the whole pile, they're not smart.
  4. Yes, I've read a lot of similar stories, and the pattern is the same.
  5. Smart thieves do exactly like this. They never take the whole pile, only a part of it.
  6. Anyway the hospitals in America can afford the best of the best lawyers and law firms. All within the law.
  7. Of course, it's only for visa-exempt entries.
  8. So in the West the hospitals don't work with top-tier law firms? In the West, and especially America, the hospitals are way more powerful and connected than in Thailand.
  9. This proves again that Permanent Residence in Thailand is not truly permanent. It can be so easily lost and sometimes it's not even your fault!
  10. Not only Ukraine, now they're invading Pattaya!
  11. Just stand your ground and don't be so easily intimidated by the boys (and girls) in brown. They just want to see your reaction, how you answer their questions.
  12. It's not a real problem after all. Of all the people that are questioned by IOs at airports, only a tiny fraction get denied entry. The majority are allowed in, maybe with a light warning to come with a visa next time.
  13. There is no clear-cut rule about this. The only official rule that exists is no more than two land border entries per calendar year. Everything else is pure speculation.
  14. Poipet is known to be especially bad. They often don't allow to have the lawful two land entries in a calendar year.
  15. There are plenty reports about entry denials at Poipet. It must be avoided at all costs.
  16. "Me student from Bangkok".
  17. Yes, I am unvaccinated, pure as the driven snow. And wish to remain so.
  18. As engineer-turned-health-minister Anutin said, all international arrivals will need to have a proof of covid vaccination, according to a newspaper forbidden to be referred to here. I just can't comprehend the depth of this insanity. They can really feed us with this nonsense? After almost 3 years of covid madness? They're not even talking about the alternatives like PCR test results or quarantine. They leave us only one option - vaccination. And all this is because they don't want to discriminate against the so easily offended Chinese. That's why they're better off to discriminate against the unvaccinated. This is Thailand, what else can I say.
  19. I was there too last week, nobody asked me for a covid test or vaccination certificate.
  20. Questions, questions, questions... Are you sure it's called "no problem"?
  21. Why doomed? Maybe he will be deported and serve his sentence in Russia.
  22. How do 1554 and 1669 work? How much do they charge for ambulance services?
  23. You never had yellow fever?
  24. That is truly amazing! You have the right to enter Thailand by air unlimited number of times - and no immigration officer tried to violate your rights! You must go down in history!
