  1. They're obviously too drunk to get a taxi
  2. Being Laosian, Cambodian or Burmese is better than a Westerner. They can stay in Thailand for cheap.
  3. Lie and lay too.
  4. Because there is no English sound corresponding to an unaspirated "p" (ป). Of course, it's possible to use "p" for the unaspirated ป and "ph" for the aspirated พ. But again, people will try to pronounce "ph" as "f", as heard many times (Fuket instead of Phuket lol). There is simply no correct way to transliterate Thai into plain English letters without creating a specialized transliteration system where letters would have a new meaning, different from English.
  5. Why are you doing the prosecutor's job? The are a lot of circumstances. She must get a lawyer to defend herself in the best possible way. Of course I feel sorry for the deceased person and his family, but making the poor woman a scapegoat will not serve anything.
  6. She shouldn't have admitted to anything. She should think about her defense and get a lawyer first. There are plenty of factors that contributed to this incident.
  7. Why do you need a flight if you use a land border?
  8. This is just a proof that "3 days in Malaysia" is a pure scam.
  9. I've been effectively living here 3 years as a tourist. Perfectly legally.
  10. This was in Padang Besar, but I've heard similar stories from other Malaysian border checkpoints.
  11. When they put a "refused entry" stamp in your passport, the stamp contains a particular reason, like "insufficient funds" etc. They cannot arbitrarily refuse entry for no reason. Or they can (and do) if they falsify the evidence and cite a false reason. Which is a crime, mind you.
  12. As an experienced tourist, you should be aware of different kinds of scams. Too many crooks out there wanting our hard earned cash.
  13. It wouldn't matter if there was a law saying that I must stay there 3 days. But I don't like to be told where to stay by some corrupt crooks making up their own rules to extort money from people.
  14. I love these "proper visa" remarks! To which I answer, the tourist visa is proper for me now, as I don't work, study, marry, or retire in Thailand.
  15. We've already figured out that your GF is 25yo from your previous post.
  16. Cheaper would be not pay anything and not stay 3 days in Malaysia, because there is no law about this.
  17. Of course I'm talking about independent border crossing, without a group. If you are with a border run group, everything is included in the price.
  18. The thing is they make up this thing to make you pay them. Typical scammer tactics.
  19. And run into "stay in Thailand too much" scam ????
  20. Not sure about "welcomed", but prepare to be questioned at an airport. Have a return ticked, cash and accommodation booking. Most likely, you will be allowed in. Just stay calm and composed, don't be intimidated by the boys (or girls) in brown threatening to send you back.
