  1. That's why you shouldn't use a bank transfer for payment. Very hard to get money back in case of mistake. Credit cards give you more protection.
  2. Once and for all: Of the major banks, only Bangkok bank opens accounts for tourists. Period. All the other talks are irrelevant.
  3. And a Non-imm visa? ????
  4. It's not luck. Before Krungsri was okay with tourist visas, but not anymore.
  5. Give up on Krungsri. They will all tell you the same thing. Just a year ago all the branches were okay with tourist visas, but now the rules are different.
  6. Without a work permit doesn't mean with a tourist visa. People open accounts with Non-imm visas without a work permit.
  7. Years ago everything was different. I opened an account with Krungsri on a tourist visa, but now the rules have changed.
  8. Don't need to try every branch. Just call the call center and ask about the official requirements. Tourist visas are not allowed. Of course you may try branch shopping in hope of finding an incompetent manager who doesn't know their own bank regulations. Good luck on that.
  9. Krungsri and Kasikorn don't open accounts with tourist visas. That's their official policy now.
  10. Bangkok bank is the only one that opens accounts for people with tourist visas. All the others seem to require a work permit or at least some kind of Non-immigrant visa.
  11. Does any of the Thai banks provide foreign currency accounts with the ability to use a mobile app? The banks I talked with told me that a mobile app is not available for foreign currency accounts. Withdrawals and transfers can be made only at the branch. Additionally, if you get a debit card for a foreign currency account, it can be used only inside Thailand.
  12. Every day another $1bn flows into Russia from oil and gas exports. Thanks to the countries that are still buying from them.
  13. They are not in poverty. Russian ruble is very strong now (paradoxically). They can easily afford traveling, provided that there are flights available. This is reality.
  14. They simply need Russian tourists. Just business.
  15. Good to know that border hops are still working, contrary to the BS the other people are saying.
  16. Thai ladies are like that. They can do a lot of harm.
  17. They do. Otherwise, why would we need them? I can buy a bus ticket by myself.
  18. That's why we're talking about border hop agencies here. They solve this problem of two entry limit.
  19. They will not do any announcement if the previous order naturally expired and there is no new extension.
  20. Maybe there will be more demand now when there is no more covid extensions.
  21. As Covid extensions are gone for good, the next cheapest option to stay in Thailand is border hops. Here in this thread I propose to share information on border hop agencies, prices, requirements, personal experiences etc. I personally know of Meesuk Travel Agency (you can google by their name) that does single day border hops to Cambodia from Bangkok. The price though is not very cheap - 3500 baht for their service plus 1000 for a Cambodian visa. As far as I remember, before Covid the prices were much cheaper and the visa fee was included.
  22. Feel so sorry for them. Some of them came back through the loops and hoops of a 2-week quarantine, insurance, vaccination etc.
