  1. Now the average tourist is Indian / Middle Eastern. Their daily budged is way below that. A group bus tour, beer from 7-Eleven are not very expensive.
  2. Basically, they did just that. People who applied before August 24 can stay until November. And the longer 45 day visa exempt permissions start from October.
  3. Covid extensions have served us good these two years but run their course. There is no reason for them to continue. Covid in Thailand is set to be endemic by October. Land borders are open. If you want to stay in Thailand for cheap, you can do border hops, as in pre-covid times. As a generous gesture, the visa-free period will be 45 days instead of 30, starting from October.
  4. I think there will be no official announcement. They're just quietly stopping the extensions. Previously, every extension was kinda "out of the ordinary" thing and thus had to be officially announced. Now that the last extension expired, things are just back to normal.
  5. What about your nerve cells? How much did you lose in September 2020 when they threatened to kick everyone out or put them in jail?
  6. That was no miracle, but what the situation dictated. The Emergency Decree was in place, land borders were closed, Covid was pandemic. Now everything is different.
  7. I have been Covid extensions proponent for 2 years, but now it really seams to be over.
  8. Why do you think so? Covid will be deemed endemic in Thailand from October, that's official.
  9. Unlocking the phone can be done very easily. There are a lot of shops doing that.
  10. It's easier to get money back to your ATM card because there are some protections by the payment network (Visa/Mastercard). They can do a "chargeback" pretty easily. In case of a compromised banking app, it's not so easy to get money back.
  11. Maybe it was because the bank's system was compromised.
  12. If it's the bank's fault. For example, if your money was physically stolen from the bank's vault or the internal bank systems were hacked.
  13. You will be "reimbursed" only if police find the thief and take your stolen money from them.
  14. For really large sums, it makes sense to have only one way to access the account - with a passbook and passport. No banking app or ATM card.
  15. When you opened an account, you agreed to their terms and conditions, which say that it's your responsibility to prevent unauthorized access to your banking app.
  16. I think if you had your phone stolen and banking app compromised in any other country, the outcome would be the same.
  17. I think covid extensions now are granted only to those who entered on a tourist visa or visa exempt. They stopped giving them to education and other non-tourist visa holders.
  18. If I were you, I would call the Immigration hotline and reported what happened.
  19. What kind of report? You mean a complaint? Clearly that was a violation of the law, since there is no limitation on entries by air.
