The wife and I flew to Australia on Thai a few years ago and I commented that this was the best airline food I had ever eaten. On the return leg the food was terrible and neither of us could eat it. I commented it would be great if there was a 7/11 on board. Well I guess it could be considered ironic that the 2 are working together now!

Hi folks, I have a document I need to send to Australia. Phichit PO accepted it last week and now they say cannot deliver. $37 for a letter not enough ay? So now it's fax or nothing! Does anyone know where I can send a fax from in Phichit. I tried several gold shops, 4 photocopy shops, Kodak shop, the PO...to no avail. Ps: Most could do in Thailand but not international.

The facts of life are:
1/ Don't buy fresh or frozen food from China if your totally against chemicals on the farm.
2/ Farm labour is limited because everyone needs workers at the same time...and the kids don't want to do farm work...ever!
3/ There are many organic fresh food supply places in Bangkok. There are lists on the web of all/most shops.
4/ Robblok is probably a nice fellow off the forum.
5/ Make reasonable priced alternatives to the allegedly bad chemicals and we will happily use them.
6/ Now we are just waiting for Matzzon to come up with the name and price of one!

when used incorrectly, in Thailand they pay no attention to protective clothing whatsoever but imo thats their problem, see many doing it in flip flops, I can use it perfectly safely.
Ha Ha Ha! You must be a neighbour! All the old Thai guys around here, many in there 70's, have never used PPE...unless you consider wearing a knitted balaclava is a mask! Most smoke, drink to much cheap rot gut whisky and they are still alive after years of spraying chemicals and poison and they can work all day in the sun. Crazy huh! But it's not crazy to look at alternatives. We need to use science to improve outcomes. And there's no sense in running around like headless chooks. We need a big picture approach. ????

Well, if for some reason China needs some subs in the region and can't get them there fast enough they could fly submariners into Udapoa and 'rent' chinese made subs locally. I'm sure suitable arrangements could be made with Thai authorities and their good friend China.
Is "Udapoa" the name the new secret sub base? I thought the subs would be parked next to the aircraft carrier at Sattahip. ????

So matzzon, you reckon Ecological farming is the way to go, maybe back in time was easier as the area farmed was a lot less....yes? Are you farming yourself per chance? Using farming techniques from 200 years ago? Are you making a living? If you are, good for you. As for myself and the wife we look at what the modern farmer has in the way of tools to use to produce a crop and make a living. Not locked in the past but open minded. And being lazy maybe a luxury you can afford, but not I. Yesterday I spent 4 hours hand weeding my experimental Moringa Oleifera plantation and have another 5 +/- hours to go. A lot of that time on my hands and knees. Then watering dozens of new papaya and dozens of young mango trees with buckets from the water drum on the trailer. Like I said "being lazy maybe a luxury you can afford". Any you say there are alternatives. Do share the name and price of one of your alternatives. Do tell. I think we all would like to know.

We have dog problems from time to time. I got really p1zzed off the other week so when in Phitsanulok last week I went to each of the gun shops, with a big roll of 1000's in my hand and asked for a pistol with silencer....but they must have been out of silencers as I got "No can do" at all of em. Plenty of self loaders available in all different calibres, and I would be happy with any non rimfire calibre.

Yeah, just go out and spray it. Then you can feel the satisfaction of poisoning some more people. Don´t forget to eat everything yourself to. Take a BIG bite!
While I do think there needs to be a different, probably safer, alternative it has to be at a reasonable price. The last box of Glyphosate (6 x 5L) we bought was 460 baht/5L. If you come up with something safer to replace it at the same price, or maybe a bit more, we will be on it reasonably priced alternative like a rat on a KFC chicken wing! Glyphosate will be gone forever once you name the reasonably priced alternative. Can you name the reasonably priced alternative??? Playing the devils advocate: Are you one of the numpties that don't care if we pay 2 or 3 or 4 times as much for the current less effective alternative? Like we don't deserve to make a living as long as you get what you want???

"giving it to them"; o wait , and charging them rent, hmmmm
I had a good laugh at that! It's a bit Alice in Wonderland I think. People occupy land illegally then got to own the land and pay annual rent! Why wasn't the land sold on the open market to return the costs of owning and developing the land to the state???
Yes I know, certain people want to feel good and pretend they are benevolent individuals.

Lets rephrase that: There are so many unemployed in Thailand we need to stop importing cheap labour and offer Thai's those jobs at the cheap labour rates.

Isn't this the responsibility of local government? Surely the provincial governor has the power to mobilize government assets to do the clean-up???

If it was near a base and was for transferring officers or staff to live in while base housing was being prepared due to the current resident transferring out, well then I can understand. I also could understand using it for members of the armed services going to the nearby base for training. However, to have a hotel possibly used by tourists, for tourism, and to make money is not what an Army is for. This country and its money making military units is just showing how corrupt it really is. Running boxing stadiums, leading golf courses etc. Purely heretical lunacy.
Yes your right. "while the facility development was transparent" So Stevie Wonder could see it! "and would benefit military personnel" does that include other ranks? I doubt it very much.

My question is "Where will the first casino be built?" From what I know there are millions of trips over the border to neighbouring countries each year for Thais to visit casinos. I know its an underestimate, but 10.000 baht per person a day would be a reasonable assumption multiplied by millions and that is some serious cash going out of the country. The local...lets say entrepreneurs...would rather see that cash stay here so they can get a chunk of it. And the government gets a slice too! Second question is "How much longer before it happens?".

So, what about those such as myself who are retired but could buy a new car if we so choose...no tax cut for us! Anyway I wouldn't buy with the Aussie scholar only bringing 22 baht. ????

That production cost is if you get other people to do the leg work. It's still high. From our experience 4200 Is closer. But we still had to supervise!
