The students need a bigger better location to show their anger. But just to be on the safe side the university fire brigade had better be on duty that day.

The daft current schemes on offer to open the tourism industry won't encourage many people to come unless they are coming for at least 3 months. Not that many people can take that much time to go on holiday. Another article in today's Thaivisa shows that only 15% of regular Swedish tourists will take an overseas holiday in 2022. If that is typical of other countries then Thailand's economy will take a very big hit and many hotels and tourist related businesses will close down some forever.
My son is of similar mind. 2022 will be the year for more tourists. His reckoning is it will take most people well into 2021 to gET their finances in order...that's if things settle down. I agree. But the numbers will be in the few millions. To get back to 40 million a year may not happen till 2030. Interesting times. Maybe a World War would have been less of a bother! ????

But you cannot run the vehicle on hydrogen generated on the vehicle. To do so would require at least one of the processes to be more than 100% efficient.
Hydrogen as a fuel is awkward stuff, it's difficult to store in any sensible quantity and has a nasty habit of blowing up in the event of a containment failure. I would not want to be anywhere near a re-fuelling station.
It's do able. Back in the early 2000 I did a graduate diploma course at Swinburne Uni in Hawthorn, Victoria, Au. Electrotechnology-Renewable Energy. As a field trip we went to a company in Clayton, Victoria to see a working prototype of a hydrogen system. We each had to sign a document of "None disclosure". On the day we got to see a lot of the companies historic achievements (not common knowledge as they were applying for patents) in the development of hydrogen fuel cells and storage containers. At the end we all got invited to be taken for a drive in their company cars (Hydrogen powered) for a several km trip. Just like driving in a normal Holden Commodore! One of the cars was a benzine/hydrogen powered unit. I don't know what happened to the company but they may have been bought out by another company....like Shell or BP or Caltex or Esso. It's happen many times in history so I think it's plausible.

Hydrogen either in an IC engine or fuel cell is very clean (only water as the exhaust).
A simple question. Where does the hydrogen come from?
Hydrogen yes, fuel cells no. On board hydrogen production using conversion kits are available now. Some are basic and benzine is still used in small quantities and some are able to start and run on hydrogen. Plenty of info about it on the net. The big advantage is you convert an existing petrol/diesel powered vehicle that already has paid the environmental cost at yesterday price. And what fuel is needed? Clean water. ????

Yes do that...but do it quietly, so we can make enquiries with the Red bull clan.... Wink, wink, nudge, nudge!

Despite the fact the problem is in Bangkok, almost 400km away, poo ya ban sent my wife home to get a facemask before attending his monthly gabfest. Apparently we also need a mask whilst driving along in the pick-up! It's been weeks since I have seen anyone here wearing a mask..... ????

Doing something to make it look like their finding solutions. Always helping out the people that control the strings of the puppet government and pretending they are helping out the wider business community...including the little guys. Not so much interest in putting money in the hands of the real needy. But, let face it, It's not that it's their fault for causing the country such misery it was the dirty farang that caused it.

Reality is this silly decision will burden the citizens of this planet with more pollution than exists already. The cost will be astronomical. And the product mediocre at best. Look at Lithium. It's an extremely dirty process to extract it and there is a limited amount. No other battery tech is even close to market. To make cars lighter more aluminium will be used and aluminium has a much higher production cost than steel. Some say it's 20 times more costly which pushes up the sticker price. Solar farms will need to be built to supply some electricity, maybe many more Japanese HELE style coal fired power stations. All of it cost big money which had to be paid for by you and me and other consumers.

Interesting thread! If someone does it once incarceration and therapy should be the punishment. If Someone does it twice let him swing from the gallows. Why? Because that guy doesn't give a toss about incarceration or therapy if he is caught and will continue doing it.

OK, the decision to go ahead is taken and it's now 2026 and China is at war with the West. In the canal sitting on the bottom is a super tanker ablaze from burning oil. How long to get the fire put out, refloat the wreck to move it to a location out of the canal? Ps: No other shipping can get through while it is there.

Tourists to get unlimited 30-day extensions to stay after ‘visa amnesty’ ends
PHUKET: Foreigners staying in the country on any form of tourist visa will be allowed to repeatedly renew their permits to stay with immigration for periods of 30 days at a time after the ‘visa amnesty’ ends on Sept 26, the Immigration Bureau announced today (Sept 3).
Any mention of the fee that will be required?

December, by my reckoning, will be the month the bomb goes off. Factories have been laying off workers and reducing operations, exports will continue to drop. Tourism will continue to flat line. A lot of Thai's and expats will delay purchases knowing that there is worse to come and good deals will be had. I am sure the purchase of military equipment will have a negative effect sooner or later. By Christmas there maybe riot in the streets...maybe!

Desperation can manifest itself in many ways. Like as a kid I used to lay awake at night worrying that one day I would be old and I would die. The thought of death brought on despair. Lack of sleep affected my performance during the day. I wonder if lack of sleep is the current problem at Thai? ????

We have that now with IC vehicles of different size and purpose. Some people buy little underpowered sch1t boxes that get good fuel consumption and others buy pick-ups tHat have a multitude of uses albeit at a higher cost for fuel. But that could be a hybrid with a good percentage of Hydrogen generated on board. My pickup gets almost 700km from a 64 litre tank of diesel. I'd be happy getting 1000+ by generating some Hydrogen from water as I go.
