I am positively glowing with schadenfreude as I read this thread. I know I am a dick. I thought of buying about 10 years ago with a target price circa 5mil. Then I went around with a realtor for a whole day and came home and did some arithmetic.
Rent/price from what I saw was 3% average. If I kept my money in the US stock market in a broad index then 50 years of history said I would make 7% inflation adjusted on average. Which means being paid 4% to rent.
So I never bought. But boy was I wrong about the market. At 7%/annum it would have doubled in 10 years. It didn't. It quadrupled. So if you have a 20mil unit to sell do reach out to me so I can laugh in your face. Like I said I am a dick.

2-3 AM I can imagine almost complete peaceful silence around this time with no tourists too.
How come you're jogging at 2-3 am if you don't mind me asking?
You said it. Peaceful empty streets. And cool. Plus I tend to sleep during the day 6am-3pm.

Ultimately, can I go running on Sukhumvit Rd at 9-10 PM?
Same question, except for around 2-3 am near Victory Monument. I am leaning to yes because there is zero Covid risk. Let's see if a cop disagrees.

Someone's had a fight with his teerak. Once they kiss and make up wild horses won't be able to drag the fellow to the airport.

Just noticed Sheryl has a pinned topic:

Googling "online pharmacy thailand" comes up with a few. If these aren't hospital-only prescription drugs no reason they won't ship.

Treatments available = medications (topical and oral) and UV light.
Last I saw my derm at Bumrungrad I am pretty sure she said some injectable biologics are now available here too (Cosentyx? Skyrizi? don't remember exactly). Prices will be cheaper in India though for sure.
The Derm Institute of the Rajavithi Hospital near Victory Monument has a UVB chamber in addition to some pretty good doctors.

When Sterling wins the World Cup and stops diving one can compare him to Maradona.
I think he will be mighty pleased you include them both in the same sentence:-)

Sterling is an ok dribbler, but he loses the ball a lot, unlike the Argentine you referred to. Sterling is light-years away from Diego M.
And Sterling has a history of diving. What he did against Denmark was a disgraceful, unsporting, dive. Nobody can be proud of that.
There'll always be issues with Sterling diving. It's just what he does.
Pretty darned good dribbler to slice through the Ukraine and Denmark defenses like he did. Almost at will.
Not in Maradona's class as yet I agree. But it's interesting you bring up the GOAT. Was the "hand of God goal" sporting? No. Was Maradona proud of it? You betcha. He took his country to the WC semis with it. (And that other little goal of the century.)
You gotta do what you gotta do to win. They don't hand out medals at the Euros or WC for being a fine gentleman.

The good news with his outstanding triple salto Raheem Sterling also now has excellent prospects in the Olympic diving competition.
Bah, excuses. Stop him from getting into the box and there'll be no issues diving. But you can't.

As a neutral observer I would say that England has played the most entertaining football in these Euros and deserve to win. And in Sterling they have the most incisive front man. The panic he causes in defenses
when he gets the ball reminds me of a certain diminutive Argentine.

OP, you are letting hope obscure reality. Consider the following scenario in a British court where you are both present.
Judge: Did you borrow 400k b. from the plaintiff?
Brit: Yes, your Honor, I did.
Judge: Why then do you refuse when he's asking to be repaid the loan amount?
Brit: I am not refusing. I told him and he knows this that crypto mining is a high risk/reward business. In fact, he loaned the money in the expectation of a 50+% return on investment (cleverly painting the plaintiff as a greedy fellow wanting to get rich off his friend's labor).
I expect this to be the case too but the time frame isn't clear. And when I am in the black I will repay Pete fully. In any case, as a signal of my good intentions I am going to hand over to him in court in your presence 10k b. out of my own pocket (does so).
Judge: And the rest? Will you make a commitment?
Brit: Certainly I will. And if it may please your Honor I will return in a year with a clear picture of the business and a firm payment schedule (thinks to himself, I'll pay the sob 5k next year).

The last thing the OP needs now is hare-brained ideas for revenge. If he tries something stupid and gets caught (a) he can kiss even the smallest chance of recovery good bye (b) he could be in legal jeopardy himself.
1 hour ago, josthomz said:400,000 THB may seem like not a lot of money. But maybe it’s a major part of his savings.
If the OP sunk a major part of his savings in a scheme to make money mining bitcoins then he has much bigger problems than treacherous friends.

Consider the funds lost, lesson learned fairly cheaply and move on. Pursue an allegation of fraud across international borders based on FB messages and no legal paper? Seriously?
You're understandably hopping mad now and, therefore, easy prey for unscrupulous lawyers and your own impulses. Which will cause you to send good money after bad while you stew in your own juices in the process. Chill. In a couple of months it'll all be a speck in the rear view mirror.

Depends on what you want to use it for.

Went to Bumrungrad this afternoon talked to staff at the gate: Nothing right now. But registration should begin next week. If you're on their contact list you'll be notified (she was kind enough to verify I was on it) and directed to their sign-up/payment portal. They've contracted for Moderna expecting supplies in Oct.
This is a hospital with a lot of rich Thai clientele (jeez, the number of BMWs and Mercs and Porsches I saw filing in) which is good and bad.
Good: If any hospital has pull and can assure their supply then it's BumG.
Bad: Little people like me will be sent back of the line.

Has anyone registered/paid yet? Particularly curious about hospitals in Bkk, especially Bumrungrad.

If France wants to do it, fine. Nobody cares what France does. In 6 months, nobody will remember what France did. The USA is always under a microscope.
Jeez, I am American too but I am not as puffed up with self-importance as you seem to be. And no I don't think any country will begrudge the US prioritizing its own citizens. In fact, they'll laud us for taking care of our own just as they would theirs.
Heck, Asians, Thais in particular, might start thinking as highly of the US as they do of France if they saw us trying to solve our own problems instead of running around trying to save the world.

Tried online on the web last night and it gave me the dreaded "contact IO". It was late so I thought maybe their database might be offline/updating. Tried again this afternoon and the same.
Next moved to the app. "Service error". Uninstalled and reinstalled but still never managed to get past that first hurdle.
Threw up my hands and filled out the TM47 (already mostly filled from last time, only date change), made copies of the few PP pages and TM6 as required and went to a mall postal shop to mail it in with tracking.
My (uneducated) guess: an IO needs to manual fill something in the online system for it to work. Next time if the Covid situation is improved I will trek to MTT to test this theory.

Doesn't matter what they're doing. 3 sentences and about 25 words would have expressed the guy's position, been more impactful, and possibly made it past the gate keepers (interns) and directly to the elected official.
2 sentences is what dddave's opening para below is and it gets the point across even if they don't care to read the rest of it:
23 hours ago, dddave said:"I am your constituent currently living in Thailand where foreigners do not have access to US FDA-approved Covid-19 vaccines. I would urge you to sign the letter that Senators Murphy and Moran sent on June 24 to Secretary of State Blinken asking him to “take concrete steps toward vaccinating the nine million Americans living abroad.”
Instead of commentating on another's effort it would help the cause to pen your own "3 sentences and about 25 words" and mail it in. The time taken would be less than to post multiple times on this thread.

That was a bad first touch by Kane. A bit quicker and softer and he would have scored.
