I've been 10-13 years ago on a forum, Phuket-info. We discussed the exact same things back then, as they come up today on here as well.

But back then, people could discuss same topics, give advise, take advise, create friendships, make some jokes about it, it was all fun.

The difference is, on here TV, people don't try to create a sort of bounding, or support to each other. It's all bickering, from the start, immediately.

It doesn't matter what someone posts, a page later, he get's shot down being troll, or it's all utter nonsense, or a perv or whatever.

Expats on here, don't like each other. And it shows, thread after thread.

Most people, after a few years here, lost all of their common sense and ability to keep a discussion to the point ...

I think this forum is just too big and too anonymous.

This is Thaivisa, the retirement forum, there are always people jumping on you and label you, immediately. 

Maybe a better idea to start looking where like minded business people come together, go to BKK, to exhibitions, network with 

right people, visit Singapore, the business hub to SEA, only a 1.5 hour flight away. There are Thai people there as well you can meet at exhibitions and connect to, etc.

On here, you will find zero sympathy for your ideas. You will be sent home as troll, as you can see.

I read through your opening posts, and could see nothing wrong with your attitude, you were very polite asking for info and shared your experience, this here is just to the wrong platform with the wrong audience to do this.

WhatsApp only works when exchanging phone numbers ... Line just adds a new contact with a 2 second QR scan. 

You can meet & add people and decide later whether you keep them or not ... without ever giving your phone number away.

I think that's also something why people like it.

You are quite right with that. Keyword is 'shared'.

i.e. you have Line on your iPhone, and then install it on your iPad ... 2 different devices. 

One remains the primary where you can make all major changes to the settings. The other one is just 'shared', with restricted options.

Well, outside of this issue or personal problems he had. 

But your personal data on a pc or laptop, is valuable. Think about all the saved passwords stored in the browsers, providing access to all sorts of online accounts, online banking information, credit card information, emails etc. 

It could cause a lot of problems to your private life if you don't protect it correctly, and it falls into wrong hands.

Have it all available stored somewhere else, to quickly change pwds etc. is really something you have to think about.

Later, it's too late.

It might as well just crash and rip with the next Thunderstorm or really get stolen.

But if it falls in wrong hands, like your camera now has, that is not a good thing. Keep control! ????

No, you didn't understand. I did not say walk away and also not to buy a laptop. I said get one ... to start working protecting your online data.

I said, protect your online data, change all passwords, see what you can recover.

What ever happens later, I did not say anything about that. He might get his imac back, ok, but at least protect your data and access to accounts as much as possible in the MEANTIME (sorry to write this in capitals), just to get the point across.

First thing you have to do is getting another laptop and change ALL of your passwords for important accounts, especially your Apple ID. If you have an iPhone as registered device, you will be good to get your password changed.

Log on to icloud, check what contacts and other data has been synchronized over the years. 

For sure you have some accounts in the cloud to recover passwords, i.e. gmail ... work with that.

At least mitigate the risk, in case your imac falls into wrong hands.
