At one period of time, glaciers covered eight percent of the earth surface and twenty five percent of earth land areas. The last ice age ended about 11,500 years ago and marked the beginning of the Holocene Period, the current geological epoch. The Holocene Period is still progressing and will continue until that changes due to changes by the earth's sun. This nonsense about climate change and the possibility of changing it is just ludicrous.

Two young men dead as drunk in a pick-up hits motorcycles in Trat
Screaming replied to webfact's topic in Eastern Thailand
Very sad and another reason not to drive a motorbike in Thailand. It is a death wish. -
So true, the media is only showing the part they want the public to see. Who hit whom in the accident prior to the fight? It appears to me from the anger of the French person that his vehicle was hit by the motorbike. The Thai person is a typical Thai fighter, hitting when someone walks away. The french person was only defending himself and should claim self defense in court.

Thank you for listing some of the positive aspects of Thainess and there are many. You take the good with the bad and realize that their is something unique about the Thai society and this is what draws expats to relocate here. It is more than just short term self gratification. We can poke fun of Thainess but in the end, it is what brings a smile to our face and our love for Thailand.

So true, a good, honest, law abiding management company makes a huge difference. Beware of tight, kenyow co-owners that only want to save money and not maintain the building. Most condo projects in Thailand depreciate because they are not maintained.

My favorite scene was from the movie Dr. Strangelove where Slim Pickens rides an H-Bomb down over Russia. What a thrill to see that in person some day.

Most Isaan People Prefer Thaksin’s Daughter As PM: NIDA Poll
Screaming replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
And most of the people from Isaan are uneducated and let their daughters enter the night life industry and marry old foreign men. -
Homes face winter power cuts in worst-case scenario, says National Grid
Screaming replied to Scott's topic in World News
So very true, there is no reason Britain should have to import fuel as the North Sea has more than enough supply. It is the wacko green globalists that caused this problem, not Truss. -
Shopkeeper Arrested For Bashing Up Foreign Tourist With Skateboard
Screaming replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Maybe in your little ระดับต่ํา village this activity is not seen very much but I have seen many such occurrences in my twenty years of living in Thailand. The Thai men are very jealous and will do unheard of violence. A friend of mine was knifed and killed by a jealous Thai husband only because my friend was trying to help his wife at work. -
Thanks for the pics. I remember those days and it makes me even sadder how those in charge have devastated the promenade over the years. More proof that Thailand is a third world county.

It's all about money in Thailand, the environment has little value to most Thais unless one can make money off of it. The cutting of trees and addition of parking spots on Breach Road will add to the pollution and degradation of the walking path and beach.

Pattaya announces current regulations for pet owners
Screaming replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
You can tell a third world country by its feral dogs that run wild in the population. Thailand pretends to be an Asean beauty but it is like putting lipstick on a pig. -
Condo rentals are very cheap right now. I pay 44,000 Baht for a 175 SM, three bedroom, 3 bath large unit right on the beach. A unit like this would rent for 6000 US dollars on a Florida Beach.
