Orang37's posts are starting to read like mapguy on acid
I imagine some of us will have to take your word for that, as we have not all had the pleasure of knowing Mapguy on acid.

Funny thing is, I recently reduced a bonking relationship to a plutonic relationship with a lass named Rat.
Are we to understand that the poor lass is now in the outer reaches of the Solar System?

. . . . .
While reading this I kept hearing the Jefferson Airplane playing in my brain.
I believe the technical term for what you are experiencing is 'flashback'.
-
You're getting better. I understood almost half of that one. Did you double the dosage or halve it?
I would suggest, Mr Hunt, and it would be to your great credit too, that it is more likely you who are getting better! I understood more before, and less and less as time passes. If I may say so without frightening you, you may perhaps be, as is sometimes said, getting into the groove of the Ur-Orang!

So which one are you? The one in the yellow or the blue outfit?
I got the "little white hunter' suit (as my sisters referred to it) on that occasion. But, with eight kids to look after, my mother sometimes got it wrong. It helped me in later life, by helping to bring out the feminine, sensitive side that is in us all.
Blinqui's feminine, sensitive side is, I believe, touching, though I myself would not permit him that freedom, and in the view of many others, divine.

i thought goebls was dead.
I think that is precisely the point Herr KHunt sought to convey.

Cannot understand why [ulysses G. is] not built like a sumo wrestler though
He doesn't do the sumo wrestler workout daily.

My goodness, Mr Bill! Reading your post, one almost has the impression you were rendered by the CIA, not a British sports team! I'm glad that your Slim pickings are a comfort to you in this troubling time, and I wish you all the best!

Anyone tried the dim sum in the Gold Leaf Chinese restaurant in the Imperial Mai Ping?
"arguably the best dim sum in Chiang Mai" says their banner...
So very many things may be argued!
My observation of that fact is in no way intended as a comment on the Gold Leaf Chinese restaurant, which I do not know.

About knickers; I thought those were short trousers or pants, not panties.
You perhaps had knickerbockers in mind.
-
The only people who aren't fans of Slim Whitman are people who haven't heard him sing, surely.
wrong!
Thank you, Donnyboy. That three-minute innoculation was a small price to pay to assure that I never make the bigger mistake of committing more time to him than that.
-
I use a Ducati rainsuit bought at the Ducati dealer; and a rainsuit bought in London. No knickers.
No knickers? You must be really hard. . . .
It is unwise to assume that others have the same response to stimuli as one does.

Bummer, ctrunfree. Either the food has gone downhill since I was last there, quite a time ago, or we have a further clue that our tastes in food differ. I'm thinking the former, but hardly encouraged to check it out.

Now 7 posts without Ian's photos!
15,000 posts begins to seem a little less miraculous.

All of the posters that I enjoy most get banned. . . .
Argh! Another secretly-held hope dashed on the rocks of reality!

OK, I'll try it tonight and report back...(does Thavisa have an expense account for this sort of thing?)
Yes, it does. You need to ask the restaurant staff, however, not only to issue a receipt, but to write on it, in Thai, 'Thaivisa Forum Expense'. Sky's the limit.
-
Ok, thanks..we ate there last trip two years ago and thought it was OK but nothing special..although we thought the guys playing guitar and taking requests were fun...but (as evidenced by the Miguel's thread furore) taste in food is a very subjective thing!
Very true, although in this particular case, of course, we won't know whether our respective tastes in food differ until you've sampled the food at the Ratchamanka Hotel and reported your own thoughts about it.

"though not the very best Thai food I have had in Chiangmai".
Thanks, but now I've got to ask the obvious question..
Well, there are many kinds of Thai food, of course, but comparing more or less like with like, I think the food at Comedara is better.
-
Yes, several times, and enjoyed it each time, although it has been some months now since I was last there. The environment and atmosphere of the restaurant were very attractive, the wine list was at least adequate (and perhaps better than that, I don't recall well), and the food well prepared and presented, though not the very best Thai food I have had in Chiangmai.

And Mexican chiles originally come from Bolivia. Bananas aren't Thai either, neither are tomatoes, pumpkin and many other commonly used food items.
Other foodstuffs that originally came from the Americas include corn, potatoes and avocados.

Stuff the expense, Erdinger for me and if that's not available, Lao (not the Leo crap)
I'm with you on the Erdinger. Every real German beer I've had here has been far and away better than any other beer - although I like and drink the others too . . .

. . . I found the Chiang Mai connection but it was quite subliminal.
-
. . . Makes you wonder doesn't it?
No, it doesn't make me wonder. What does it make you wonder?
-
. . . Nice day but cavorting was the best.
Now we have a Chiangmai connection.

Well, quite simply, it was that or a dog, and I had a strong sense that you do not consort - or even merely cavort - with critters of the canine variety.
