Yes, I read that. And then I thought: "Blast, never heard of it in Holland."
It is possible you would have if the British had not crushed the Boers.

After that long and drawn out pallarver of "falang pretend police" I thought I'd just let it be known that i don't really care what peole do in thier free time. May find it odd like ballroom dancing or ladyboys, or ballroom dancing ladyboy, but each to thier own, hense the title. Hope i didn't cause too much offence, just a bit of bordum banter.
I like to mix music, ride motor bikes and play poker. What do you do?
One of my favourite pastimes is to correct the spelling and punctuation of some of the more illiterate members of this forum. However due to time restraints today I can't be bothered on this particular thread.
Good go bother some other thread
Please................."Good, go bother some other thread."
Please, 'threads' not being capable of being bothered, ................."Good, go bother the people on some other thread."

Spelling is fine but your punctuation sucks However, ......
Hey, I've a great idea: the two of you could proofread for one another!

WOuld you carry me like a small child, arms under the legs at the knees and another behind my back?
Much more humbling that way..
For both parties, one imagines.

I don't want to sell them. I want my staff to have good jobs and make good money and make sure that Chiang Mai has good books long into the future. Eventually, I will close a few down and work less hours, but that is down the road.
I think that I am much better off working part-time at something I enjoy, rather than not working at all.
Bravo! Good goals and good self-understanding!

No. I figure a good dollar rate is 45 baht to the dollar, like it was a couple of years ago. I had some money sent over when it was 35 baht and I figure I lost about 50,000 baht because of the rate...
Why stop there? Settle on a good dollar rate of, say, 45,000 baht to the dollar and you can enjoy the agony of losing billions when you send money over!

Death Don't Have Non Merci
Well, I do, and I thank you for that.

. A simple derassination will do me just fine -- in good time, of course.
A timely death makes a grateful dead.
In general, perhaps, but in this case it is more likely to make for grateful living survivors.

Probably hibernation is the only thing left for you Rass
What? No grim reaper in your vision of life?
I can hear a psychopomp knocking at your frontdoor. You should open
I am not overly fond of psychopomposity. A simple derassination will do me just fine -- in good time, of course.

Was she the stunning blond girl at the bar (Nienke+1?)
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssss!!!!!!
I saw her sitting alone for a bit of time. I figured why should a beautiful woman like her not be talking to someone (like me), so I plotted down next to her and we chatted for quite some time. If I was just 10 years younger, or better yet, 20 years younger.
I am beginning to think I must have suddenly gotten much older than I thought, so old that I am evidently incapable of even noticing stunning blond beautiful women sitting at bars. Probably some kind of psychological mechanism for self-protection, to reduce stress, frustration, a sense of inferiority, what have you.

Is one allowed to say here that Buckwheat is out of his mind?
You never asked for permission before....
True enough. My asking this time reflects, perhaps, the deeper respect -- or possibly simple fear -- that I now have for you.

Best beans I ever had
(CB bribed me to say this)
Just don't say it to Buckwheat - he hates my baked beans - not sweet enough and too spicy.
Is one allowed to say here that Buckwheat is out of his mind?

Please start bugging Chas to schedule the next one!
Chas, c'mon, schedule the next one. C'mon, c'mon. Schedule it already. Now. Do it now. Hello? Hello? Chas? C'mon, schedule the next one.

Daphénitely.

Dunno 'bout you, but this particular member of les enfant du paradis feels a little faint as Jean-Baptiste silently offers a rose to Daphné-Garance.

Many farang buy and own condos in Chiangmai in their own name.

I woke up naked, spreadeagled on the bathroom floor. Not a pretty sight.
Was the person who took and showed you the photograph the same as the one who disrobed and spreadeagled you? If not, it is interesting to contemplate who was the most cruel.

I too would like to say thank you very much to everyone who hosted, organized and helped carry out and make such a success of last night's Thai Visa party. I had a wonderful time, and was very pleased to meet both old friends and new.
No beautiful Venus smiled upon me, I confess, but I almost certainly would not have thought to offer her a toothpick in any case, not having the grace and presence of mind of a suave and sophisticated Frenchman, so I like to think it was for the best . . .

Brings back memories of my grandmothers tales from WW2 and rationing.
I still have one of my old ration books
You make it sound like they rationed nappies. Surely things were never that desperate?

My old mate told me yesterday that I really should try pad thai. Too late - can't afford rice.
Great news for you, PB. You can try pad thai -- there is no rice in it!

My wife and I tried Le Crystal tonight, for the first time. The setting was very nice and the service was very good and the food was . . . a bit better than just okay, but not by much. The food at Le Coq d'Or, when we went there last month, was much better.

Who knows, there may be another BB or UG out there but we may never know........
Such an optimist!
I'm afraid there is no question but that in such case we would eventually have to face that unpleasant reality.

I would be interested in how you are using the coffee. Do you have it ground at the shop and then use it in a Mr. Coffee type machine, or do you use it as beans in a machine that grinds them at time of making the coffee.
If using as beans ground at time of use, do you have any trouble with the beans and/or the messing up of your machine?
I grind the beans just before I use them, either at medium level of coarseness for filter coffee or at a fine level for espresso. I have had no trouble either with the beans or with any of my machines.
If You Could Invent 1 Thing What Would It Be?

I would invent a kind of post that would attract particular people to read a thread. I could have used it here, for example, to summon Blinky Bill to this thread.
