  1. I rarely eat candy but have a piece of good chocolate now and then. You can find some of the good ones here. I had a wine collection one time when I lived in Texas but only brought a couple cases when I moved here. They went fast.
  2. You just said the last time you ate one was 12. Do you not realize how long ago that was and that things might have changed since then, including your taste buds? Read the ingredients before you buy. The fascination is not only taste but ease of preparation. I've been eating healthy all my life, especially the last 50 years after I left my parents house and got into bodybuilding and nutrition. I won't eat garbage and a lot of the food you eat here isn't so healthy.
  3. Villa has the small shredded wheat for 255 and Tops for over 300, which is a little high. Like anoher said, most of the cereal here is aimed towards kids, highly sweetened and not what I'll buy. I brought back 8 boxes of various cereals last November from Texas but they went fast. Wish they had more here. I can order a case of some online but haven't gotten around to that yet.
  4. There are quite a few healthy breakfast cereals but you won't see them advertised on TV. I've been eating them for decades. Shredded Wheat is one that's recognized, along with Grape Nuts and Corn Flakes. Ones I get at most chain stores in the US (I bring them back when I visit) that you can't get here are Shredded Spoonfuls, Millet Rice Flakes, Heritage Flakes, Shredded Oats, a few from Barbara's, Oat Flakes, and others. I eat oatmeal with banana most every day when I'm out of the flake cereals, along with scrambled eggs, whole grain toast and sugarless jelly, which are all made with whole grains and little to no added sugar. Most are sweetened with grape juice. Granola tastes good but is usually very high in calories and sugar. I follow with 0% ice coffee sweetened with Equal or Splenda with added collagen. This is one of them,........https://www.herbspro.com/products/shredded-spoonfuls-multigrain-cereal-138437?variant=43158085075044&currency=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7bei98yOhwMVqDCDAx1bYg0mEAQYBSABEgKYevD_BwE
  5. Actually in NYC it's a favorite position to make money while a student goes to school.
  6. 3 times, but by the ex, and all for nothing besides she was pissed off at someone else.
  7. Try vinegar or peppermint oil slightly diluted. Works but only temporary
  8. Yes, it's risky, especially here where a large majority are incompetent, lazy and don't believe in road rules, drive drunk and speed a lot. One huge reason you should be using all of your senses while driving, as there are always people cutting you off here and driving recklessly, which makes it even more important to drive sober. You get hit and you're at fault here, especially if you've been drinking.
  9. I'm in my house with my daughter wasting my life away watching reruns of MASH right now as we speak. My DVD collection helps because it's about the only thing I can do living in the country with very few around that can speak English, at least until I can move back to the states. My room isn't that dark because I use one light to keep it lit.
  10. Are you not aware that complaining is the only way things are changed for the better?
  11. Funny as we write I'm watching a MASH episode where Hawkeye goes on the wagon and drives everyone nuts.
  12. Which mean absolutely nothing when you've had alcohol. You're totally missing the point and probably didn't look at the link I provided. Your senses are impaired, judgement of distances is off, and are a lot more likely to take chances. Thinking you "adjust" for this will not work. A person who's drunk isn't in their right mind and doesn't have the ability to think the same way as when they are sober. That you're going on and on justifying your actions is why more people here are thinking you're really a loose cannon.
  13. Some snitches are snitching to possibly save a life, or at the least thousands of dollars in car repairs, and can knock the crap out of anyone who tries to give them stitches.
  14. And if you have a conscience and care for others, don't drink too much and then try to operate a vehicle, because this time could be the time you run into another person, can't react when another cuts in front of you in time because your senses are dulled, or when a child runs in the street ahead of you, you can't react fast enough to avoid them.
  15. It isn't exactly the speed that kills. It's driving too fast for your skill or if you are impaired.
  16. Most people don't drive drunk. There are countless people that take Uber or use a designated driver, or sober up a little before they drive. And never an issue? Do you have any idea how many people get arrested , jailed and pay fines for driving drunk? How many are killed and maimed by drunk drivers? Over 11,000 a year just in the US................https://www.nhtsa.gov/risky-driving/drunk-driving
  17. Many self medicate instead of taking anti depressants. If it makes them "normal" in their minds, taking it away can lead to panic and irrational behavior.
  18. Then take some time to sober up before you drive. You don't have to close the place down drinking until then. No excuses whatsoever. Time clears the mind and body.
  19. 80% of Thai people aren't drinkers, although there are millions that do. He's simply stating if you're going to drink, as many people worldwide do, don't drive drunk. Get another person to drive. It's called a designated driver if you aren't aware of the term. Hire an Uber or whatever. People are killed most every day by drunk drivers. These are people who had too much to drink. Not necessarily bad or stupid people, just stupid actions if they drive afterwards. People who do this all the time are inconsiderate of others, thinking they can operate a 2 ton machine at 80MPH and handle it like they can sober. Fact is, many aren't competent drivers sober. The car is a machine of destruction if they are drunk driving.
  20. Quite easy, as there are many instances. This I found in 2 seconds..............https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2024-05-29/twice-convicted-dui-driver-charged-with-murder-in-crash-that-killed-14-year-old-in-newport-beach
  21. Having a conscience separates people who care from those that don't. I drove after drinking a number of times, and was lucky I didn't hurt myself or others every time. I came close to an accident or two and eventually it made me think more about what I was doing. You definitely cannot control a car even impaired by a few drinks near as effectively as sober. Drunk you're plain lucky you arrive home intact, as well as those around you. I don't give a rats ass if it's "woke, PC or whatever". It's plain stupid and dangerous. Everyone who's ever killed or maimed anyone while driving thought they were okay to drive home. There are alternatives. You can't "adjust" your driving for legal reasons while drunk. It's illegal, period. And I'm not supplying bombs to anyone, the government through the military is, although I do agree all terrorists should be exterminated.
  22. Actually bragging about driving 3 times a week drunk. Pretty sad and this will bring you karma eventually. You actually have been driving impaired, meaning you are extremely lucky and do not know how well you are driving. If you were followed by a policeman in the states, you would be giving off hints that you are indeed impaired, and would have been arrested. many people can go from a city to their homes in the country and not encounter police or much traffic, and lucky they are arriving home intact. If you've been living here for years, it's no wonder you haven't been pulled over, as drunk driving here accounts for many of the daily deaths, and the police aren't enforcing this anywhere near what they do back home in the US. Your next driving could be your last, or someone else's, including a young kid. If my child was ever killed by a drunk driver, I would make sure his life afterwards would be a horror enfolding.
  23. It sure is, and many have been charged with murder for causing deaths. All depends on what state, country, prior charges etc. It's traditionally been a vehicular homicide but not always.
  24. They are nowhere near less angry than any other country, especially the poor ones. I lived in the US 62 years, and the people are happy, angry and everything in between there as well as every other country. Anger is seen daily here just watching the TV news. Imagine how much more there is if you see it happen daily there. Any population that has most of it's people poor and barely making it is not happy.Yes, they appear happy, but the anger and resentment is carried within, and many times comes out with knives, machetes, sticks and guns, and you don't see 5 chasing 1 down the street with the intention to beat him senseless and kick him when he's down like you do here. This isn't gangs I'm talking about but regular everyday boys. Anytime people are struggling there is anger, but the mai pen rai and fear of losing face keeps it down, at least for awhile. Strong friendships are less common here also, for the same reasons. One has money, others don't like it. Gold is shown off here a lot, and that breeds anger, even though many sell their gold when they are back in debt, which happens to most here eventually. I've been among these people for years now, and hear what they are saying, both by my ex and her family, and my girlfriend now. They hold back anger and that causes depression, and is a huge reason you see so many committing suicide here. A boring, poor country and depression add up to many taking their own lives. Thailand has many pretty hookers and good food. that's why the majority comes here. The women travel here to see the temples , beaches and food, which is all well and good, but after you've seen them there's not much left. The men will keep coming as long as prostitution is kept at bay, and those that live here are doing it cheaper than their own countries. Take away the women, the beaches and understand you can get Thai food that's good most anywhere, what do you have left? Like others have said, there are nice beaches all over SE Asia, along with good food and cheap prices.
  25. And also popular with adults that come from intact homes.
