  1. Guidelines following MFA 60 day visa exempt implementation?.............please provide link.
  2. but how many VE entries will the "system" allow in accordance with the recent increase tourism revenue policies?
  3. Not wanting to be deemed a Thai tax resident reason and whatever that future may bring?
  4. I wonder what effect the proposed ETA for visa exempt entries will have on IO's given that the ETA QR code allows for automated gate entry.
  5. IMHO you should be ok with your recent history. Only two VE's in 2024 is what IO needs to assess and this one will be only your first 60 day VE. Usually if IO has "discretionary concerns" will advise you to get a visa next time which you may even suggest if grilled.
  6. Two VE's in calender year is usually ok. Two months in UK usually negates any back to back concerns. MFA spokesperson has stated in youtube interview that 60 day VE is unlimited ( only 1 for you this far).........but in TIT nothing is guaranteed.
  7. TM 6 a bit odd but what i would like to confirm is how many 60 day tourist VE's can I do in a calender year ie 2025. will keep an ear close to ground as there are conflicting reports. MFA guy stated "unlimited" which is in line with their increase tourism revenue scheme...........will wait and see - I still have evisa TR60 option if necessary.
  8. Yeah, I don't have any sick relatives in LOS so am hoping can do four 60 day tourist VE's per year.
  9. In video interview MFA guy highlighted that the 60 day "unlimited" VE can be for purposes other than tourism eg visiting relatives.
  10. IO more than likely would disagree. Yes I been thinking same. Video interviews with MFA guy indicate increased tourism revenue is their goal re 60 day VE and DTV schemes.
  11. I agree with your sentiments, however, It is generally acknowledged that immigration rules/laws are subject to IO discretion............ so in practice "various limits" can and do get applied rightly or wrongly from time to time.
  12. I tend to agree but note In the DTV video interview with Chris Parker the MFA guy highlighted a shift from the 30 day VE tourist purpose to now include other purposes eg visiting relatives. The MFA guy has previously stated the 60 day VE is unlimited and not strictly limited to tourism............will IO now have to question the purpose of VE entry?
  13. Maybe so, but in practice it has been reported that occasionally IO makes the arbitrary "too long" claim and then applies the insufficient funds reason inappropiately. It has also been reported that on other accasions Thai law is misappropriated by IO's at various Immigration Offices...... I wouldn't be hanging my hat on IO strictly adhering to Thai law.
  14. yeah ok, we see these deals in a different light. I understand that some "tourists" and others have circumstances that need to rely on agent/IO deals.......TIT just pay.
  15. .............but need to bribe IO to create "no problem" situation.
  16. If my memory serves me well the "other than strictly tourism" notion was for a limited work period requiring Dept of Labour approval. IO rightly or wrongly have been known to use the "too long" claim in their absolute discretion on many occasions. I doubt very much that any tourists will get thru 360 days annually on the back of "unlimited" VE's ....but who knows for sure what pans out in LOS.
  17. Yes my thoughts exactly. "Unlimited" simply doesn't fit the bill. A tourist staying in LOS continually via "unlimited" 60 day VE entries is nonsensical even by TIT standards.
  18. Wait and see. They have done so pre 15 july 2024 using what has been described in Pattaya Mail article as "absolute discretion". Maybe i've lost the plot but what I can't get my head around is how if somebody gets to stay in Thailand for say 360 days a year on "unlimited "VE's (4 x 60+30) can be classified to be a tourist ...........particularly when staying 180 days or more one is deemed to be a resident for tax purposes.
  19. He mentioned having to do 1 night outside of Thailand before re-entering. i took those situations to be "back to back"..........maybe i shouldn't have. I am aware that unlimited entries spread apart are not necessarily "back to back".
  20. In the cases mentioned the foreigner probably would not be considered by IO to be a genuine tourist. As such it would appear that the announcement of unlimited VE entries is anomalous.
  21. Not highlighted cos nothing new about IO discretionary decisions. The MFA official seemed creditable and was quite clear re permanent and unlimited, he even ok'd a back to back border entry example. How it actually pans out is not for me to speculate so I will wait and see - maybe some unforseen further changes are in the making TIT style!
  22. Unless i'm mistaken, the MFA video interview posted by george indicates the new 60 day VE is intended to be permanent and for unlimited entries (land and air) but subject to the usual IO discretionary final decision.
  23. typical TIT - leave it up to "discretion" of insolent IO's.
  24. I wonder where i can see a media announcement from these officials confirming "new" policy/practise re this topic.
  25. please substantiate with link to official rule/regulation - what was source of visa agents "assertion"?
