My only income is the oz OAP + bank interest which get credited to my oz bank account. I use Wise to transfer monies from my oz bank account to my Bangkok Bank Account for day to day expenses when in thailand - 220 days last year via visa exempts and tourist visa's. My Income tax due in oz gets "paid" via SAPTO - not by me personally (see attached). So if i am declared a thai tax resident how might Thailand Revenue Department rule on SAPTO tax "paid" in oz on monies transferred to Thailand. Will the oz DTA deem SAPTO to be tax "paid" on my income. Sorry i can't be more clearer with my query, its all a bit too murky for me. Guess i can wait and see what actually gets implemented. Staying under the thai 180 day rule probably the way to go for me as it will also satisfy oz tax residency 183 day rule implications.

cos of SAPTO i don't pay any tax on my OAP + bank interest income. will Thailand tax me re their "proposed changes" if i have tax residency status or will DTA still be applicable?

My Girlfriend Fell for the Land Scam

appears that you were also paying for nothing................hmmm! -
Bryce, who sustained bruises on his face and head and abrasions on his body, informed the police that the incident occurred on his birthday. He and his two friends had gone to the establishment around noon to celebrate. A dispute over the drink bill escalated into a physical altercation, leading to the violent incident captured in the video. After providing his statement, Bryce filed a formal complaint with the investigators against the security guards. His friend, however, chose not to file a complaint out of concern for his safety in Pattaya. The investigators charged the guards with operating as unlicensed security personnel, which carries a penalty of up to three months in prison, a fine of up to 5,000 baht, or both. Additional charges of physical assault are also being pursued. It was further revealed that the group of guards involved in the incident were self-organized and untrained by any official company or agency, nor were they officially employed by any establishment. This contravenes government policies, and the police are continuing their investigation into the group. Any further violations will result in additional charges. there are many violations to be acted upon not the least of them being those who were paying these goons.

yes will be interesting bearing in mind comments made by the police chief re barbaric security guards culpability. maybe whiteshirt can be charged for pointing and yelling at cashier, tossing mobile on table and challenging goon outside for a 1 on 1 ..........oh and also for being an embicile for having a drink in walking street on his birthday.

Big Thailand visa changes from June 1
Bvor replied to snoop1130's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
number of air visa exempts never been stated before hence previous uncertainty. 60 day visa exempts need more clarity. -
i missed such a video of customer pushing and hitting goon in the nose......do you have link to this video. the video clip i see from inside bar shows whiteshirt twice retreating from goons and also shows greyshirt trying to restrain goons. whiteshirt then decides to stand up for himself and raises his elbow at goon who then pushes him under the armpit and then threatens with his fist - whiteshirt and goon then go on street for a punch up........2 other goons quickly follow making it 3 on 1. greyshirt then follows to try and help whiteshirt but also gets dropped and set upon with punches and kicks to the head from several goons. the rest is plain to see.

Big Thailand visa changes from June 1
Bvor replied to snoop1130's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
depends on what limits are applied to multiple visa exempts. eg if the limit is say 2 per year then a 60 day tourist visa would come into play for next entry same year. -

Bvor replied to snoop1130's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Summary: The details include: - Increase the number of visa-free countries from 57 to 93, including Albania, China, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Laos, Jamaica, Romania, Sri Lanka, Panama, Mexico, Morocco, Uzbekistan, etc. - Extend the period of visa-free stays from 30 days to 60 days. - Expand the list of countries eligible for visa arrivals from 19 to 31. visa-free stays extend to 60 days but i'm not clear whether or not visa on arrival extends to 60 days. -

Speaking today, Sergeant Major Arthon from Pattaya City police station said the three security guards have been warned about their conduct but have not been arrested or charged. He said: "The tourist in the video who was attacked has not filed a police report, so we cannot assign an investigating officer. "There's no case open until they complain. We've had a look around but can't find them. "Yes, we're still checking CCTV to see what happened to them. "There are rumours that he is in intensive care but we haven't heard anything from hospitals." typical TIT head in sand charade!
