  1. My only income is the oz OAP + bank interest which get credited to my oz bank account. I use Wise to transfer monies from my oz bank account to my Bangkok Bank Account for day to day expenses when in thailand - 220 days last year via visa exempts and tourist visa's. My Income tax due in oz gets "paid" via SAPTO - not by me personally (see attached). So if i am declared a thai tax resident how might Thailand Revenue Department rule on SAPTO tax "paid" in oz on monies transferred to Thailand. Will the oz DTA deem SAPTO to be tax "paid" on my income. Sorry i can't be more clearer with my query, its all a bit too murky for me. Guess i can wait and see what actually gets implemented. Staying under the thai 180 day rule probably the way to go for me as it will also satisfy oz tax residency 183 day rule implications.
  2. cos of SAPTO i don't pay any tax on my OAP + bank interest income. will Thailand tax me re their "proposed changes" if i have tax residency status or will DTA still be applicable?
  3. appears that you were also paying for nothing................hmmm!
  4. Bryce, who sustained bruises on his face and head and abrasions on his body, informed the police that the incident occurred on his birthday. He and his two friends had gone to the establishment around noon to celebrate. A dispute over the drink bill escalated into a physical altercation, leading to the violent incident captured in the video. After providing his statement, Bryce filed a formal complaint with the investigators against the security guards. His friend, however, chose not to file a complaint out of concern for his safety in Pattaya. The investigators charged the guards with operating as unlicensed security personnel, which carries a penalty of up to three months in prison, a fine of up to 5,000 baht, or both. Additional charges of physical assault are also being pursued. It was further revealed that the group of guards involved in the incident were self-organized and untrained by any official company or agency, nor were they officially employed by any establishment. This contravenes government policies, and the police are continuing their investigation into the group. Any further violations will result in additional charges. there are many violations to be acted upon not the least of them being those who were paying these goons.
  5. i presume you are only referring to bloodnose goon attempted coup de grace even though video appears to show both tourists getting kicked when down by all 3 goons combined.
  6. yes will be interesting bearing in mind comments made by the police chief re barbaric security guards culpability. maybe whiteshirt can be charged for pointing and yelling at cashier, tossing mobile on table and challenging goon outside for a 1 on 1 ..........oh and also for being an embicile for having a drink in walking street on his birthday.
  7. the smiles on the faces of policemen interviewing whiteshirt maybe suggests otherwise - in sharp contrast to police chief condemnations of 3 barbaric "security guard" goons.
  8. Watch the video of the interior carefully. police chief and 3 "security guard" goons have already confirmed whose to blame now whiteshirt has filed official complaint.....hmm...... no further questions your honour.
  9. so the lying cashier and the goon security guys getting "harassed" justifies attempted murder and "nothing to see here" attitude. best we agree to disagree. cheers
  10. number of air visa exempts never been stated before hence previous uncertainty. 60 day visa exempts need more clarity.
  11. i missed such a video of customer pushing and hitting goon in the nose......do you have link to this video. the video clip i see from inside bar shows whiteshirt twice retreating from goons and also shows greyshirt trying to restrain goons. whiteshirt then decides to stand up for himself and raises his elbow at goon who then pushes him under the armpit and then threatens with his fist - whiteshirt and goon then go on street for a punch up........2 other goons quickly follow making it 3 on 1. greyshirt then follows to try and help whiteshirt but also gets dropped and set upon with punches and kicks to the head from several goons. the rest is plain to see.
  12. depends on what limits are applied to multiple visa exempts. eg if the limit is say 2 per year then a 60 day tourist visa would come into play for next entry same year.
  13. Summary: The details include: - Increase the number of visa-free countries from 57 to 93, including Albania, China, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Laos, Jamaica, Romania, Sri Lanka, Panama, Mexico, Morocco, Uzbekistan, etc. - Extend the period of visa-free stays from 30 days to 60 days. - Expand the list of countries eligible for visa arrivals from 19 to 31. visa-free stays extend to 60 days but i'm not clear whether or not visa on arrival extends to 60 days.
  14. similar to my past entry experiences except once last year when i was advised at swampy to get a tourist visa next entry which i did. my and other members present query is how will multiple 60 day visa exempts actually play out - my crystal ball gets all foggy when it comes to thailand so wait and see i guess.
  15. i been doing mixture of visa exempts/tourist visa for nearly 20 years cos thats all the time i need. just saying multiple visa exempts have been frowned upon more than multiple visa's. you may well be right.... "no problem". wait and see to be sure. cheers ps i avoid rogue jomtien i/o so extensions or tm30's not for me.
  16. i hope you are right, but will i/o muppet switch from number of visits b/s to number of months b/s when no visa........ to maintain their sweetners. whatever i still have 60 day evisa now available in oz .
  17. good for me ,i like! but i wonder how many times per year before the "you come too many times" accusations?
  18. get rid of the "security guard" goons, put a 2 man police box with accompanying patrols in girly soi 6. i'm sure BIB's finest would like such a hands on job.
  19. also interesting is what appears to be a policeman seen looking on and not assisting as bargirls attempt to de escalate the situation and pacify 2 of the goons from doing further farang damage.
  20. also interesting is what appears to be a policeman seen looking on and not assisting as bargirls attempt to de escalate the situation and pacify 2 of the goons from doing further farang damage.
  21. maybe if the law is properly carried out re these 3 goons soi 6 will be a tad safer place.
  22. yeah, the charades will continue for awhile and then suddenly all is forgotten......TIT 101.
  23. yeah, quite so. i would of thought maybe cctv and numerous witnesses would suffice in order to lay charges so as to keep the public safe from these 3 goons reoffending.
  24. Speaking today, Sergeant Major Arthon from Pattaya City police station said the three security guards have been warned about their conduct but have not been arrested or charged. He said: "The tourist in the video who was attacked has not filed a police report, so we cannot assign an investigating officer. "There's no case open until they complain. We've had a look around but can't find them. "Yes, we're still checking CCTV to see what happened to them. "There are rumours that he is in intensive care but we haven't heard anything from hospitals." typical TIT head in sand charade!
  25. the 3 thugs have admitted their guilt. if not murder then all 3 thugs punching and kicking prostrate semi conscious people amounts to attempted murder in most civilised countries.
