  1. attached info from MFA appears to indicate 90 day limit per 6 months. There have been pre covid reports of "various" airport I/O interpretations re Visa Exemption as also on some forums. The waters a bit muddied, however i am considering using this 90 day limit per 6 month "rule" in 2022 for 3 or 4 visits over the full year. As i see it my 30 to 60 day visits don't really necessitate visa applications.
  2. i was trying to correct my "other post" which erroneously referred to IO instead of airline staff.....which you have so kindly pointed out.
  3. maybe. i don't have any further info, but surely not possible if certificate of ins has no reference to passport no as is the case with TGIA. don't know about others. whether the MFA PT "system" has efficient cross referencing programmes is also questionable.
  4. i read on another forum that a guy made two identical TP applications with his two passport no's (being a dual citizen). he received a QR Code for app'n A but had app'n B refused on insurance query. TIT!
  5. yes, that is my interpretation and accepted by TP as to the covid 19 cover. i am somewhat puzzled that general health insurance without covid 19 cover may be accepted - not for me to wonder why. TIT use of english always a concern. my input is in respect to 81 yo friend who is finally able to return to his condo/retirement life in pattaya after being stranded in oz for last 18 months
  6. "test the waters" was my description maybe misused. anyway the TGIA Covid Insurance was purchased and the certificate of insurance uploaded to my friends TP application which was accepted. i backed my interpretation of varying MFA statements and if rejected i would wear any non refundable policy as policy was cheap for oz resident. i intend to do the same for my own TP visa exempt entry in Feb.
  7. i will be in same situation as you for intended visa exempt feb entry. i read that fake outward tickets (any for that matter) are illegal albeit that they suffice at checkin. maybe IO will not ask for outward dates, maybe IO will accept your 60 day ticket on the basis that you explain that you intend to extend (ie 30 +30) or maybe the IO will deem that you are a risk of overstaying your 30 day entry. cos of uncertainty i intend to buy a throwaway scoot bkk to singers ticket for about $110aud departing in accordance with 30 day entry stamp.
  8. i have attached herewith the MFA info that led me to believe that the online TGIA covid 19 insurance cover would alone get my friend thru. make of it what you will - my friend has his thailand pass covid QR Code so that suggests its ok IMHO. the MFA would look more than the usual silly (LOL) if they flip flop again and its not ok thereby invalidating the TP QR Code that has been issued.
  9. as my friend wasn't going to pay for 81 yo general health insurance and on the back of the two MFA statements in my previous post, i tested the waters that for the thailand pass TGIA covid 19 alone would be ok.
  10. as i understand it, the duration is for the period of your stay. applicant will enter on visa exempt so 30 days stay was submitted for the thailand pass.
  11. my 81 yo friends thailand pass QR Code was issued last thursday for 1/12 arrival. tgia covid 19 insurance was the only cover submitted. MFA have indicated that either general insurance (see Chris.B documentation item 2 above) or covid 19 insurance (pattaya mail article re MFA addendum) is acceptable for thailand pass. please don't ask me to explain the logic..
  12. online TGIA Covid 19 insurance up to 99 yo. covers period of stay ie visa exempt 30 days. Thailand Pass QR Code approved on this basis for 81 yo. will apply for non o retirement visa if general insurance not required whilst on visa exempt - may even extend.
  13. in my passport TIT appear to use the same stamp for TR 60 and the 30 day entry (visa exemption). both refer to a "visa class" which IO endorses accordingly. i have never utilised the Visa on Arrival mode so don't know what stamp gets used there. i am not aware of any 30 day visa issued by embassies/consulates.
  14. There is no harm in making a second ‘tidier’ application just incase the first one has slipped through the gaps. Making a second application will not impact or slow your first application in any way. Did you ever receive a confirmation of application from your first one ? (did you use g-mail or another and not hotmail?) everything done with yahoo - app'n, successful reg'n 5/11, email today to [email protected] (requesting "new" pin number for the QR Code progress). 2 hrs after today pin number request i get TP QR Code @yahoo - and in PDF mode! Phew, all done now. i was doing everything for my dinosaur 81 yo friend and starting to feel as lost as him. my turn probably feb and everything changed again with more silly hoops haha.
  15. sunshine hip hotel have got back to me stating that shaba id not required post 1/11 and that booking number is acceptable. still no thailand pass email after 6 days. have a report that yahoo email is not compatible for receipt of the thailand pass QR Code even though registration approval was emailed via yahoo. the report states that guy after waiting 7 days on yahoo applied a second time with gmail and received the thailand pass in 3 days. saturday will be my 8th day so will apply again via gmail and choosing AQ plan 3. hope my uploads will be of sufficient high resolution and satisfy khun muppet so as not to incur nit picking rejection
  16. You are supposed to apply via Option 1 : Exemption from Quarantine (Test and Go) which is one night - but a lot of people did not get a QR code (the Thailand Pass / QR Code states ‘Quarantine Exempt’). Thus, when applying via Option 3 : Alternative Quarantine which is 10 nights, you can still submit the same documents as for option 1 (ie. 1 night test and go booking) and still receive an instant valid QR code (in most cases) which states, 'Alternative Quarantine'. This is a Plan B if you are getting nowhere with Plan A. Still make sure you have submitted an Option 1 : Exemption from Quarantine (Test and Go) application, as this is the ‘correct method’ of application - IMO its good to have the Plan B in your back pocket if you are getting concerned. Thai news has stated that Thailand Pass now states that all applications should be approved within 3 days - I’m not sure if this is yet the case. SHABA codes are for the Phuket Sandbox and booking the PSAS PCR tests - they are not used for the Bangkok Test and Go packages. For ‘Quarantine Exempt arrival (1 night ‘Test and Go’) in Bangkok Book an AQ (which includes Airport transfer and PCR test), or an SHA+ hotel (which includes Airport transfer and PCR test). The confirmation of the Airport Transfer and PCR test should be in the booking receipt (preferably a single page). Has the Sunshine Hip Hotel provided you with a booking conformation that states the following: - Paid - Inclusive of airport Transfer - Inclusive of PCR test IF so... thats good enough, there will be a booking reference on your confirmation - use that booking confirmation with the Thailand Pass application. my hotel is pattaya not bangkok. i have got all package info on the emailed booking confirmation certificate but i inadvertently printed and uploaded it without the SHA+logo at top of page. hence my concern that it might not be acceptable when manually examined. 4 days have elapsed since reg'n and am getting nervous being kept in the dark. should i need to do a fresh application it will be in AQ mode as suggested. thx again.
  17. thx for the correction. the plot thickens THAIEST state that AQ is also test and go ie 1 night whereas the application states AQ plan is for 10 nights. if AQ has been successfully used as 1 night test and go i will also use. i booked direct online with Sunshine Hip Hotel who are confirmed on THAIEST as SHA+ and AQ but have got nowhere with them re my SHABA ID query (which maybe i don't need). everything is as clear as mud as per usual TIT.
  18. forgot to add.........THAIEST website states that SHA+ and AQ are both test and go. on that basis my previous comment about AQ being a wrong option was incorrect.
  19. choose the wrong option to get the right result........ i don't get it. what is the reasoning? Expand Expand The reasoning is that it works... thats it. Applying via the Alternative Quarantine option (Option 3 on first page) has returned an instant approval and QR code from Thailand Pass when using exactly the same documentation (i.e. 1 night test and go AQ hotel package). ok, AQ check box for test and go gives instant QR Code approval............ way to go next reg'n. thx for your input.
  20. choose the wrong option to get the right result........ i don't get it. what is the reasoning? the applicant is test and go eligible and the pattaya hotel is SHA+ accredited..... easily confirmed by MFA on their own links if they checked. TIT nit picking worries me but will wait for result (13/11 = 7 days) and if not approved then consider the AQ check box option for second application. hotel and flight paid for 1/12.
  21. i have a booking with SHA+ hotel in pattaya as previously posted. however when i did a print of the booking confirmation the SHA+ logo was inadvertantly cropped out and uploaded to Thailand Pass application. Registration was 5/12 with no further response to date. i am concerned that as such a Thailand Pass QR Code will not be granted.
  22. looks like i have misconstrued the use of the Thailand MFA online evisa website if it is inapplicable when one is not physically in country of residence. ie OP cannot apply for said online evisa when he is not in UK (what about Thailand Pass?).................not the first time i have misconstrued thai immigration. maybe visa exempt + extension better option for me.
  23. hi joe, OP being from an eligible evisa country (UK) can't the SETV be applied online without the need to attend the thai embassy where one happens to be? this SETV online evisa is more onerous then the attend in person mode. i'm a perth oz resident which is not an eligible online evisa country so i have to post application/passport/etc to canberra or sydney but am waiting for oz online evisa eligibility status. have heard more countries to be added in november
