  1. Not being a protected species and no previous TM30"s I wonder if you will cop a fine at Chaeng Wattana.
  2. Neither am i . 90 days in 98 days of 2024 on top of 210 days in 2023 - good result thus far. Albeit I haven't heard of any TR60's limit per year. Would be good to know if there is one and what it is but given the 90 day in 6 month stoush i'd rather not ask on AN. Apologies for muddying the waters a little by mentioning the tax resident threshold of 180 days. cheers.
  3. i don't think so. you were stamped in,she was just a tad suspicious cos thats a lot of time on tourist visas + extensions ( doesn't 180 days = tax resident?). the return air ticket query may have been to gauge if a further extension will be sought. i am also a retired long term visitor but keeping below 180 days per year. whether you are breaking any rules or not is somewhat unclear to me as IO rules and regulations are often applied inconsistently. your next tourist entry might be interesting. good luck.
  4. Can you provide a link of sorts so i can copy and present to IO if necessary............. or will it not matter as IO uses discretionary authority re "rules" "regulations" etc (TIT).
  5. Correct, I only mentioned 150 days in 215 days out to substantiate that i live in Australia and holiday in Thailand and it fits 5 VE's. "Official rules" suggest that getting a tourist visa for 30 day or less stays seems unnecessary plus I don't want to risk my passport getting lost or damaged by Australia Post in a near 8000 km return journey re Canberra visa issuance. I doubt very much that i will be refused entry maybe just asked to explain my circumstances. cheers
  6. thx for reply. yeah thats why i mentioned age and hope that IO is not using Clint Eastwoods Mule movie as a learning tool for trainee muppets. I have other reasons to give IO that should support my plan. eg no evisa online in Australia and also no visa's issued from Perth my home city. Nearest visa issuing office is Canberra (1000's of km away) and anyways i don't want more then 30 days. cheers
  7. Hi Doc, for 2024 i now prefer considering 5 ve's @ 30 days each evenly spaced apart by approx 43 days (150 days in 215 days out). What do you reckon my chances of success as a 73 yo age pensioner would be ........i am confused by IO discretionary swings and want to avoid agents, immigration offices both here in Australia and Thailand eg Jomtien.
  8. Can anyone subject to Chonburi IO practises please confirm whether or not Jomtien is actually implementing the "new procedures" published in the attached Pattaya Mail article
  9. fair enough, perhaps BIB will start enforcing traffic laws more competently........nah TIT!
  10. hence the driver may claim compensation from the m/c who some posters blame for the collision.........but in any case TIT rules.
  11. in context of suing for compensation i wonder (cos i not know), when apportioning blame, what weight would be applied to car running a red light + impacting the m/c when m/c light had turned green.
  12. respectively disagree. in my viewmotorcyclist moved before the green light but was hit when light green. wonder what speed somchai was doing when running thru red light and IMHO is more to blame. interesting how BIB adjudicates. hope motorcyclist can survive and fully recover.
  13. and raised his left arm in "triumph". maybe the taxi driver did same whilst running their red light.
  14. you, me and UKresonant dad same, same. think i'll go with my IO acceptance stamps and give search the forum a miss. cheers
  15. what specifically would be the "unless" issue for a single 72 year old age pensioner re 3 times per yearTR60 @ 59 days each time followed by 2 mths out or 4 times per year 30 days VE in and 60 days out.
  16. have bought myself although not asked for at check-in and would do again, but would not be surprised if one day IO muppet uses discretionary authority and deems said "onward ticket" unacceptable........TIT.
  17. earlier this year KL stamped me in for 90 days visa exempt when all i was doing was getting the bus from main terminal 1 to air asia terminal 2. i'm unclear on why this 1 week bizzo for you. ps phuket io muppet needs to cop a formal complaint and then sacked.
  18. Pattaya Mail 12 October 2023. see attached excerpt.
  19. correct......as per jomtiens reported change in procedures, rightly or wrongly, but quite clearly stated in the pattaya mail article several weeks ago (DYOR).
  20. appears that jomtien is following thru with the "new procedures" as reported in Pattaya Mail and on this forum not long ago.........rightly or wrongly TIT.
  21. pattaya mail article states "the change in procedure". ?????????? TIT again this time requiring more TM30 lodgements.
  22. Centrelink (sic) is just as bad as TIT so i ask you........ when was your age pension payment granted and when was it "taken" - have you considered appealling to the AAT who can and do overturn unreasonable Centrelink decisions. my understanding is that only the supplementary component of approved age pension payments are "taken" after 6 weeks abroad as happens to me. given Centrelink/ATO/TIT attitudes i intend to stay in TIT no longer then 180 days per year. cheers ps - apologies if i have failed to see the forest for the trees.
  23. TIT where money and corruption is no 1 and law and order is swept under the carpet. Parents turn a blind eye because they benefit financially/the weight of police "law enforcement" depends on the weight of their brown envelopes. No prostitution but wall to wall bargirls.
  24. big call that the temporary 45 day VE is superseding VR's. i wonder how many VE's you would have done if not for covid restrictions. maybe I/O questions were OK. please keep the forum posted re your next 2022 VE - i do 3 or 4 VE's per year (except covid 2 years) without questions but can change according to I/O discretion as per TIT.
