  1. Hmmm..........and more again in 2025 - looks like agent required to be "sure". IO maybe thinking you live in Thailand.
  2. Apologies for my queries but I just don't get it.............. Are they requiring the sponsor to be "settled "in Australia for a 2 year period immediately prior to application? Are other previous years "settled" in Australia eg family, home, tax resident, etc simply disregarded? Is this refusal decision a contradiction of your other previous applications when having been in Thailand a number of years?
  3. Ignorance is bliss. astute.
  4. It's been widely reported that the TRD will release new tax forms and explanatory notes in Dec. So its it's a wait and see situation.
  5. As well as VE also has evisa SETV and METV options all of which do not require 800,000/400,000 Thai bank BS requirement. Leaving the country appears to not be an issue with his OZ/LOS splits and his close border crossings.
  6. Sure can be viewed as being an "extension" but not via the application + fee pursuant to reg's that I was referring to.
  7. Likewise. Apparently leaving and returning prior to expiration of 180 days resets another 180 days from date of return (like METV). Hence the DTV can be valid for 179 days +180 days within a 12 month period without the need to apply for an extension ?
  8. Yeah sure thats a stretch ..........but if someone wants to do <180 days then a "6 month cooking semester " every year for 5 years could be OK.
  9. Not sure about "straight back in" - maybe can do ..........but It has been reported that to avoid IO VE back to back issues one should stay some time eg 1 night over the border before re entering Thailand via VE.
  10. I have just now revisited the DTV YouTube interview with the deputy director, consulate services MFA. At about the 8.30 minute mark of the video he seemed say that if a DTV holder exits and then re enters Thailand prior to initial 180 day allowance that a second 180 days allowance will be reset from re entry date. As such me thinks if one so desired that would allow for say 2 x 175 day cycles per year without the need for extensions. Have I misinterpreted his words?
  11. Yeah, I can wait and see hoping for further clarification. My yearly 5 x 35 day circumstances are different to the long term stayers.. Nevertheless the evisa DTV @10000 baht may be better in terms of cost and convenience then numerous VE's, SETV's, METV's, Non O's, extensions, etc. Will talk with my Thai dentist re implants on 5 year plan - sure costly, but I do need replacements for my many losses not to mention gain a killer smile! cheers
  12. Can I use evisa DTV for 5 X 35 day visits per year for 5 years.........500K in Oz bank, <180 days per year, no extensions, have ongoing dental treatment? I wonder what confirmation of dental treatment over a 5 year period (why not) would be acceptable? For 10,000 baht maybe the optimum visa for my circumstances...............unless I'm missing something!
  13. This "cross the border" advice smacks of " agent fee's " Maybe they could better understand your English when provided copy of the official regulation.
  14. I was referring to my providing proof of Oz domicile/Thai holidays being noted on the IO database. LOL pigs may fly! Thx for your good luck wishes.
  15. yeah will do and maybe IO's database can then reflect a long history of my holidaying............maybe it already does hence why i've never been interrogated and/or denied entry. cheers.
  16. Seems to be a contradiction if one can provide both - apologies if I am misreading. Quite right about eVisa METV.
  17. Yes, but during IO interrogation may at least provide some substantiation of ones true domicile status. Using VE'S and TR's I have holidayed in Thailand 5/6 times a year for the last 20 years barring COVID years. I own nothing in Thailand as I don't want to live/retire in Thailand (hence Non O and other visa's not a good fit for me. Everything I own is in Oz where I live and own home, family, grandkids, etc. From time to time I get worried that IO will one day claim "come too many times" - I have too many holidays in my retirement WTF? The problem is with IO absolute discretion being inappropriately applied and contrary to MFA policy thereby making for russian roulette style decision making - sure I have survived thus far but for how long?
  18. Oops keyboard skills showing my age. However I take on board your point that in IO mind, visa obtained in country of residence equates to that countries "permanent overseas residence status" thereby should negate any IO accusations of attempted and/or living in LOS. thx again.
  19. I hope your rightI. If that's the deeming way of IO I will keep my fingers cfossed.. thx for input.
  20. Whether VE or VR has been deemed to have "stayed too many times" already - so what visa "in your country" is he referring to.?
  21. Yes, OK. Was showing my frustration re IO "absolute discretion" - eg nothing in section 12 so use 12(2) inappropriately.
  22. From time to time gets applied pursuant to IO "absolute discretion" directive to supposedly substantiate "not a tourist" accusations.
  23. Losing bank interest was not my only focus (was just saying) when not wanting to go the non O journey. As I have said I want to do approx 30 day swings which suits ME considering issues of holidays, cost, health and home in oz Jetstar fares ok with me as is cost of two evisa METV's per year which should be hassle free entry compared to 6 VE's @30 day ea or 3 VE's @ 60 days ea. For me peace of mind outweighs the extra cost but of course each to their own. Thx for the VE guidelines.
  24. Yes I acknowledge the immigration,MFA, foreign embassy disconnect............... where can I find this PDF file? I am trying to prepare myself for possible IO interrogation re "not a tourist too many visits" I do have many years of successful TR's and VE's. Going forward I want to holiday 6 x 30 days (minus 1 day = 179 days) per calender year. the rest of the time I spend in Oz where I am an old age pensioner with house, car, family - none of which I have in Thailand cos I not want to live/work in LOS. Non O retirement is an overkill for me and tying up 800,000 in a Thai bank I lose 44,000 baht Oz bank interest. As the title would seem to suggest the Multi Entry Tourist Visa appears the" logical " visa in my circumstances ie 6 holiday visits per year - but there are reports of IO problems re "not a tourist too many visits". It would appear that I am at the mercy of IO lucky dip as to whether or not they override approved embassy evisa. Any thoughts re my dilemma.
