  1. Problem with lynch mobs is that oftentimes, the wrong person gets lynched, sometimes even the victim. And if the accused is wealthy, popular, a village head man, religious leader, etc., they can easily organize a mob to kill an accuser for damaging their reputation. Lynchings are common in places like India and Pakistan, and just see how wonderfully people's civil rights are protected.
  2. Other countries, including some of the poorest nations in the world are putting an end to their debt-trap infrastructure deals with China, but Thailand continues to march boldly forward...
  3. Casirivimab/imdevimab is a treatment for someone already suffering from covid-19 complications. It isn't a vaccine.
  4. I have a handtruck, also red. I wonder how much it's going to cost me to register it as a weapon. I can see future police busts with half a dozen SWAT geared cops all pointing to a handtruck found in the corner.
  5. For this case, wouldn't it be easier to import a car (used perhaps) that was originally built with left-side steering & controls?
  6. Like others, I suspect this to be a trolling post. I have my doubts the OP is even from the US.
  7. Just an in-house purge. Happens all the time. How could anyone be surprised at this point, it's Thailand.
  8. Intolerance to eggs? Have you tried just having egg whites? It's probably something in the yolk that bothers you. And if it turns out that the egg whites are what bothers you, you need to examine your protein intake. What's missing from your choices is fiber.
  9. I don't think you read the news correctly. Those stolen vehicles were seized as illegally imported autos meant to skirt high import duties, same as in Thailand. The customers were wealthy class, not drug dealers. And how exactly would you export them without proper ownership documentation? If one tried, the legal owners would sue for return or compensation.
  10. I am just shocked! Absolutely shocked about this! Who could believe that Thai construction could fail so quickly and badly?
  11. Yep. His father in law won't bail him out as he did something that embarrassed the entire RTP. Cops get in trouble all the time, but he got caught in a manner that highlights police corruption, and on video! Besides he's a commoner and not originally from the elite class. Best to have a quick trial & conviction, then bury him in prison and let the news cycle move on to something else.
  12. Reading about all these drug busts, I have always wondered whose job is it to count all the ya bah pills they confiscate?
  13. I come from the Intl. corporate world, with 25+-years experience in Asia. My sincere advice is for you to: 1. Poach from other companies. You will need to spend a bit more, but a bargain compared to the time saved and demonstrated abilities of someone already working; 2. Never hire new college grads. Never! They have a sense of entitlement from having a college degree. 3. Never make yourself easily approachable to all the employees. As the boss, you have to maintain certain barriers between yourself and the staff. If you are too easily accessed, like in modern Western start-ups, many of your Thai employees won't respect you.
  14. For the UK NHS to accept your vaccination cocktail, you have to use already-approved vaccines. In the case of sinovac, it will be "No!" and "Never gonna happen", -especially since China has never submitted sinovac for UK regulatory approval. These are the only vaccines currently approved in the UK: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/covid-19-vaccines-if-you-live-abroad
  15. It happens. Usually the property developer pulls some shenanagins to help maintain prices and keep-up sales figures. Excess properties can be moved over to corporate housing until time to sell again and the developer can simply carry the loan to not have it show up on any banking books. This tried and true method always works... until the bubble bursts!
  16. That's a cheap lesson. Just think of it as the cost to remove a crazy person from your property. (change the locks!)
  17. They should check the man's backside for signs of the shopowner's boot print. I suspect the owner "helped" this man out a 5th storey window after discovering him breaking into his gold shop.
  18. ...minus 50% conveyance fees for local police chief and 30% kicked-up to the general for his troubles!
  19. For the Afghans, it's been longer than that. Russians invaded in 1979 followed by civil war ever since. Probably not over.
  20. That's not true as I was actively involved with establishing global supply chain infrastructure for PC & systems manufacturing at that time. I personally examined & evaluated Thai-built CD & DVD players and DQ'd them. Where every factory assembled the DVD case using small screws, the samples submitted by Thai companies used tape...
  21. The US is getting ready to approve a third dose for all people, not just high risk groups. The planned interval for #3 will be 8-months, at least for Moderna, which is what I got here in the US. Hey, if anyone wants shots and has the $, take a golf trip to Guam. As a US territory, covid vaccines are free to anyone "on demand" at no charge. That's where the Asian elite have been flying to for their jabs. Tour organizers will even shuttle you to a pharmacy for your jabs as part of the package.
  22. Obvious answer. Some Thai police general's son runs a CCTV sales & install company.
  23. I also think 100k baht seems low. This loyal employee seems more like family at this point and she probably won't be able to find another job at this stage of her life. 100k baht isn't much of a retirement. If he can afford more, the final payment should be several times that. It's not like he can take it with him.
  24. That looks like a pellet gun made to resemble a Glock and not an actual firearm. And speaking of firearms, why do all pistols in Thailand seem to have rubber bands wrapped around the grip?
