  1. Laptops normally have pretty good internal antennae. Unlikely that a USB adapter like that will improve it, especially at that price. As mentioned, moving or upgrading your wireless router might be a better option. Or some kind of mesh setup.
  2. I think it must be a VPN app or some browser extension on your PC, that's the only thing that makes sense here. Can't explain the TV though. As mentioned, testing on a phone at the same time as the issues occur would definitely help.
  3. OK, PC not laptop. No idea what's going on with your setup. Can't think of any possible reason that your TV box would disconnect its wifi signal when this issue happens on your PC. Testing on wifi via a phone / tablet or just another device would be very useful to know. Can't you connect your phone to wifi to test?
  4. To answer your original question without the pointless bickering, no I wouldn't go near those deals. You will be a named user on somebody else's account and it could disappear at any time. Certainly wouldn't trust it with any important data. If you want to use cloud storage, do it properly and pay for the service. As mentioned, Microsoft 365 family is pretty good value.
  5. What happens when you try the same thing on your phone or tablet when connected to wifi? Everything about this from what I can see points to it being something on your laptop. You are lucky AIS are so lenient, in the UK they would (rightly, I think in this case) be very reluctant to send an engineer and you'd be charged something like £120 for each visit that turned out to be a local (i.e. not an ISP) issue.
  6. Thank you. So new TM30 = another one in addition to the one I assume the hotel did for me? i.e. I have to get my wife to do one?
  7. Background: Arrived earlier this month on CoE with single entry Non-O (Thai wife) e-visa approved by London Consulate. Completed 1 night quarantine at hotel, passed PCR test and since then living with wife in BKK. Assuming the hotel submitted a TM30 for me, does my wife now have to do this again or can it just wait until I do the 90 day report? I also plan to extend for 12 months, if that is relevant. Thanks.
  8. Might be too late but I submitted this for my Certificate of Entry application and it wasn't enough, they need an extra letter that the hotel send you after booking so I assume it will be the same for Thailand Pass. Also, my email from the hotel was in junk mail (of course) so might be worth checking there.
  9. I arrived in BKK last week on CoE and completed one night quarantine before checking out after test results were negative as expected. The hotel gave me a Covid test kit to do on day 5 (I think he said) but no indication on what you are supposed to do with it - does anyone know? It's an antigen / rapid test.
  10. Thanks, it’s an e-visa from London Consulate. Any idea on the level of coverage required?
  11. I'm arriving in BKK this Friday, 5 November. I have the pre-approved CoE, now I need to do the 2nd stage. Can anyone clarify the insurance requirements now? I heard that it matched the Thailand Pass rather than the original CoE requirements. I'll be entering on Non-O visa (Thai spouse) if that's relevant. Thanks.
  12. Latency from Thailand > Europe makes any kind of Remote Desktop a fairly unpleasant experience.
  13. Sell or leave the bulky parts, take the GPU, RAM, CPU and maybe motherboard (if it fits) with you and buy anything else you need here?
  14. Sorry but the only real solution here is to update to Windows 10. Ask your trusted computer shop to do that rather than waste time and money trying to fix this problem.
  15. Does anyone know what documents you have to send to the London Consulate for a non-O visa (Thai spouse) once the application has been completed online (with supporting documents attached electronically)? Is it just passport? I could not see clear guidance on this.
  16. I submitted my non-O (Thai spouse) application a few days ago but haven’t posted my passport to the consulate yet. I’d rather use the e-visa system if possible - I wonder if I could just re-apply when the new system goes live on the 26 September?
