So many riders and passengers not wearing helmets including children with parents. The other day I even saw a motorbike-taxi rider wearing an obviously damaged helmet that was completely covered with brown masking tape. 🤷
If someone decided to stay just 3 months every year in Thailand and 9 months in their home country would it still be a good idea to just continue their annual retirement extensions?
So, you use your debit card abroad without any problems and visit the bank when you're back in Thailand. Do you have to inform the branch every time that you're going abroad again? Cheers.
I guess my friend should be pleased with the laughing emoji as that means there should be no problem. I did advise him to consider a reentry permit and continue with retirement extensions at least for the time being as he plans to spend a few months in Thailand every year and keep money here.

A friend of mine is considering going back to his home country for around 7 months and not applying for a reentry permit.(retirement extension) He hopes to visit Thailand every year for just a few months as a tourist. Will this have any implications on his Thai banks? Withdrawing cash in-bank, getting a new debit card/ bank book etc. Has anyone done this? He plans to keep his phone number.
You can ask for a card to stick your stamps on. The card will say when you have to use the stamps by. I usually wait until I have a reasonable amount (50 baht maybe) and then the amount is discounted from my purchase.
So much info, so many comments, everything is so unclear. I'm just assuming that money brought/sent into Thailand before Jan 1st 2024 will be okay, 3/5/10 years ago etc?
As has been suggested go where the locals go. Keep away from the downtown tourist areas. I pay 120 baht for a decent cut. There are a number of barbers in Phrakanong & Onnut.
