  1. Marry under Thai Law. Took us 40 minutes many years ago. Then you're all done with this legalizing stuff.
  2. Just keep vaccinating. At the current rate of 667k jabs per day, Thailand will hit 70% fully vaccinated on December the 8th of this year. Keeping in mind that Israel is a little above 60% and the states a little above 50%, this seems promising. Although infections may keep rising, deaths should stagnate and go down soon.
  3. That could very well be, however that is completely irrelevant to the question if we should vaccinate or not. Vaccinations PREVENT most hospitalization and almost all deaths. Vaccinated people will most likely still get Covid19 at some point and also develop a natural immunity, but without the adverse effects of becoming critically ill or dying in the process. That's the whole point of those vaccinations. In other words, the combination of those two arguably work the best. "Even People with a single vaccine dose and who previously recovered from infection seemed to have more protection against Delta than unvaccinated people with natural immunity." Bear in mind that this study has not been peer reviewed, also they don't take into account all of the asymptotic cases that Covid19 might have. However there will be some truth to the study.
  4. In my 30s and have been fully vaccinated for over a months now. The main tip that I can give you, be proactive (like many above me said). Don't wait until your name pops up on some semi-working registration site. Walk into the vaccination sites, take your passport and be polite. In my experience, the people doing the shots don't really care as long as they meet their shot quota. Good luck!
  5. Huahin will open on the same terms as the Phuket sandbox, so it would be very possible. With the current vaccination campaign, you might be looking at an opening of Thailand on 01/11 for vaccinated tourist. Although, 01/12 will be more likely.
  6. Yes you did. And that is it. If you have more information, do share it with us. Indeed you can own the materials but not the land. Maybe it's the wording but when you own a house I also includede the actual ground it's on.
  7. With a 60% shadow economy, it's very hard to argue something else. Did anyone EVER had questions asked when importing money into Thailand? Ever?
  8. POst this question on Exapts in Thailand group (or something similar) on Facebook and you will get offers thrown at you. Especially at BKK. I have IPTV, I paid 3k baht for a full year and receive pretty much all western channels you can think off (including prime sport channels of each country). I'm a sport lover and use it mostly to watch football, Basketball, F1, tennis etc. You can also record. Also, get rid of True. They are horrible. Get 3BB and you will also get HBO go thrown in there. They offer really good series.
  9. Sure, the implementaties restrictions are mostly very poorly thought through.
  10. Top 10 deaths since the pandemic? Israel? Sure, deaths are hospitalizations are rising as you would expect in a upcoming wave, but it's little and not at all uncontrollably. Many infected in Israel are unvaccinated, however it's OK. In order to succeed you'll have to walk the thin line of easing restrictions and keeping hospitalizations at a minimal level. Which they have been doing very well. Thailand need to follow suit to balance out the economy and the pandamic. Thailand seems fine at the moment with the infections. This is without even letting people self-isolate. I never really understand the fear for Thailand's health-system. It's arguably one of the best in South-East Asia. Comparing it to India is an insult to Thailand. Medical tourism has been a thing in Thailand for many years, and will be for years to come. Especially with the current vaccine roll-out, it looks like 80% can be hit by November if they keep vaccinating at this rate...I don't see any reason why the vaccine roll-out will slow down to be honest. Everyone is losing way to much money because of restrictions. It might even be earlier than that.
  11. Yep, this is what Thailand should copy. Again, you're posting infections and noting gabout the hospitalization rate or dead rate. As mentioned in my previous comment, Israel is doing a massive test campaign ahead of the starting of schools. This doesn't mean covid-19 isn't going around. The hospitalization and deaths are almost half of that is was in their previous wave in February. This still shows that we have to be aware even after vaccinations. If I understand correctly you're typing this post because you think Singapore is a better "example" for Thailand to use. Ofcourse, very black and white, this could be, however, my opinion is that it has two flaws; 1) Singapore is essentially a city. Economy wise and infrastructure wise, it's very difficult to implementate the same vaccinate-rate and restrictions as Singapore. 2) As opposed to Israel, Singapore did have very strict measures even though people were getting vaccinated. They are slowly opening up now, but not until 80% has been inoculated. Thailand simply cannot afford to wait this long to ease restrictions. The vaccination roll-out is too slow for this. Businesses will be ruined, and the infrastructure (and bank account) simply does not permit this.
  12. The Dutch police ASKED the Thai police to arrest him on Money laundering claims IN THE Netherlands. Thailand then decided for themselves to keep him for a prolonged period because of they were told his money (which was also in thailand) was dirty. If the Dutch government never asked the Thai government, he would be sipping a beer right now on a nice beach. If he paid his taxes over the cannabis money in The Netherlands, moved his money to Thailand, then they would never see the money as dirty (even though it's obtained from the sales of cannabis). Problem here is tax offensive IN the Netherlands. The Thai government solely moved onto him at the request of the Dutch government. At the moment John is a free man in The Netherlands, after serving a couple of years for his tax offenses.
  13. AS a fellow Dutch man, I can say that had absolutely ZERO to do with his money moving to Thailand. Lol.
  14. I assume you buy the whole house cash? If so, they merely like to see the money comes from abroad. They don't give a flying crack how you obtained the money abroad, they just want proof that the money is not illegally produced in Thailand. Personally I have never heard of this being the case when your wife buys the house and only with condo's, but the selling company can just make rules up as they go. You should be fine just showing it's an international transfer. Thailand only cares about money laundering when the money moves out of the country.
  15. Yeah I now know mate, not at the time. Plus she couldn't check in with an expired passport and I didn't want any trouble at the border where she used a different passport for airlines as to the one she was entering with. Like many said, its no problem either way.
  16. I'm not going to name the school but it's an international primary school in Chalong. The idea of this came from the director of kajonkiet school, and wasn't finalised until monday 30th of July. In this letter we received there was no mention of field hospitals whatsoever. Obviously if your child test positive at school on an ATK, then "OFFICIALLY" they would have to go to do a PCR to confirm this. If the PCR is positive, then they would have to put you and your child in a field hospital (normal procedure when you test positive on PCR). All other children in the class and parents are then told to home-isolate, and they switch to online class. The advise for the rest of the class to test themselves at home but this is not a requirement. I understand that some messages were circulating last month, saying that the whole class would have to go into a field hospital (although not testing positive) when one case was found in the class. This is simply not true. The rules might be different for high schools, as I only know the international primary schools join this program. I also heard messages that BCIS did a questionnaire about this plan, before the plan even came out. Which I found extremely strange. Then again, BCIS and kajonkiet might not like each other that much... Personally, I find it a very logical set-up and I expect the rest of Thailand to follow these procedures. It's similar to that how some western countries dealt with it. And obviously happy for the kids to be out and about! P.S. The schools themselves came up with this idea, not any government body (if you mean that by education authority at least).
  17. They are giving your children Folic Acid, a supplement that potentially could help with covid19. Either way, it won't do the children any harm (unless they are allergic to it). Our kids go back to school here in Phuket. They have to do a Covid-test weekly (through salvia). The parents have to produce vaccination proof or a weekly negative salvia covid19 test as well. If someone test positive, everyone in the classroom is referred to home isolation with homeschooling for 14 days. My guess is that Thailand will implementate this nation wide soon.
  18. Our daughter has been in and out on her Thai passport after. Never once did anyone mention her overstay on a Dutch passport. In my experience with Phuket immigration, they just make stuff up on the spot to avoid saying "I don't know".
  19. Yep ???? As we lived in Europe before, we didn't use her Thai passport as all, and failed to check the expiry date. I fly for work about every month, but mine is valid for 10 years, so a different story. Besides, we didn't think it was a big issue because she has two passports (which turned out to be the case). Believe me, when you have a busy life with work and kids, some things do slip your mind. It happens, you learn from it and move on :).
  20. Again, you're looking at active cases and not the hospitalization rate; Israel times; "After surpassing 700 concurrent serious cases earlier this week, Health Ministry data on Friday showed there were 689 patients hospitalized in serious condition, in what appeared to be the start of a decline in the country’s fourth virus wave." - " Eran Segal, a COVID expert and one of the top government advisers to the coronavirus cabinet, said the rate of serious cases out of all new infections dropped from around 2 percent to 1.4% in recent days." "The new record appeared to be the product of the worsening outbreak combined with more tests being conducted this month than in the past, when the rate of positive results was at times significantly higher than it is now. Additionally, more of those diagnosed with the coronavirus are children — thanks to a mass effort to test them ahead of the new school year, which starts Wednesday — meaning a significant portion of the new cases are among those who are at a lesser risk of serious illness and cannot yet be vaccinated." There is no idea that people who receive the vaccine are not dying at all. There is however, scientific evidence and real-time data that people who have received a vaccine are a lot less likely to develop serious symptoms, and therefore die. Israel's numbers are extremely good compared to the restrictions (or lack off).
  21. Had a similar situation with my daughter. Traveled to Thailand, found out that her Thai passport was expired, and she entered on her Dutch passport. She has traveled multiple times outside of Thailand but always on her Thai passport. Officially she is on an overstay on her Dutch passport, however when I asked immigration they said it was OK because she is a Thai national. Very black and white, when they type her passport number it will single an overstay, however they won't be eligible to enforce it as she is Thai. They told me not to worry about it.,..I havn't worry about it since...
  22. Absolutely agree. Thailand has a long way to go, but Phuket is not far off. I have to say, the vaccination program happening now in Thailand has switched in to "decent" gear (not great but OK). Hopefully things are looking better November/December.
  23. Lol. Israel has not gone into lockdowns...It has increased some restrictions the last few weeks, but is looking at hospitalizations rather than infected cases. Schools are opening again next week and the hospitalization rate is going down. Yes, a vaccine passport is required. I expect similar things to happen in Asia soon, and it works. Israel is the perfect example. Singapore has yet to deal with an outbreak in the vaccinated area but that will come with time.
