  1. I have never said - open it up and let it rip. That is indeed ridiculous. I said we should base the restrictions on the hospitaliations numbers instead of found infected cases. The rise in hospitalization will rise as more cases are found but not in the same relations due to vaccinations. If we do this, then we are still protecting the healthcare system, just like before. Are Thais scared to do this. Yes, probably.
  2. I have no clue how you got "Let throw everything in the wind" out of that, but OK. Yes, Singapore would be a decent example. However, Israel might even be better. A fully vaccinated country that is still experience an "outbreak" compared to their previous numbers. Deaths are very minimal however. Vaccinations levels in Thailand are not there yet, in Phuket they very much should be getting towards the 60ish/70is %. Hence, we switch the approach.
  3. That sucks ???? I heard BKK Hospital might get some Pfizer soon. Did you register her on the list there?
  4. Like I said in the previous comment, the numbers are arguably less optimistic as they portray them to be, but I don't think they are far off. Besides this, I don't think you grasp the idea of vaccination. When we have everyone vaccinated in a certain area, the virus CAN and probably WILL go rampant. Vaccination does not stop spread, it stops you from developing serious conditions. Tourist won't be stopped from coming on the basis of infected people, just as they are not scared to walk around in their own country that is rampant of covid (but without serious consequences due to vaccines). My original point is that we need to stop looking at the infected numbers, and start acting on hospitalization numbers. EVERYONE IN THE WORLD will get Covid19 at some point in their live. You, me, your wife, your kids etc. It's pointless to keep looking at positive tests when you have the majority vaccinated.
  5. Interesting, I have the complete opposite. No matter who is right. Thailand implementers WAY harsher restrictions when it comes to vaccinations. Daily life on a short notice will become impossible here without a vaccination (no flying, no bus, not in the shopping malls, no school etc etc). In the west we are hesitant to implmentate this on the basis of "discrimination". Whichever way you turn it, one way or another. All Thais will get a vaccine shortly.
  6. I agree that the vaccine roll out for non-WP foreigners wasn't smooth as all. I got mine done outside the Phuket Must win program (I did register). At this moment when I log in, it gives me a timeslot for everyday of this week with a second slot 11 weeks later - Sinovac (1st) - AZ (2nd). I already have two AZ, but they are still giving it. Also, many non-WP foreigners just walked in to the centers and got a shot on the spot (mostly AZ). If your girlfriend really wants a shot, I suggest she tries Lagoon - Bangtao. They give AZ shots there every friday. She should be able to get one if she notified her residence with immigration in Phuket. Just take her passport and go towards late afternoon.
  7. I don't think the numbers are off by a lot. People who don't have a registered housebook here had the possibility for many months to go the the amphur and get a shot. Everything was quite neatly organized. The big difference with Thailand and (most) of our home countries, is that Thais are very willing to get a shot. They go out of there way to get one, as opposed to the west. What CAN be a problem, is that a certain % has been vaccinated by Sinovac. We don't know how effective this will be against hospitalization. However, there is only one way to find out.
  8. It's not so much that the Sandbox is failing, quite the opposite as I have mentioned many times on this forum. What is failing is a constructive plan for the inevitable rise of Covid-19 cases on the Island. At the moment, the measures are still based on a non-vaccinated population, hence they panic that the cases go up. We need to base the measures on a vaccinated population (which Phuket mostly is), and focus on having only vaccinated people on the island, slowly opening everything up, and focus on symptomatic cases/hospitalization. They apply a pre-vaccinated approach on a vaccinated island. We're past this stage. You either accept the inevitable infections or don't and just lock everyone up. Can't have it both ways.
  9. More answer are possible. For me it's both the first and the last. This particular case will be "fixed" by the police, however the impact that this case has had, with the combination of everything on social media, will force a positive change in the long run.
  10. Fair enough. Then you're into the 001% of people here. Still doesn't change anything of what you said. It doesn't matter what skin colour I am, or you. You also didn't answer the questions how I'm racist to you. But like I said, I didn't expect one.
  11. Ok, so let me get this straight. You're 100% caucasian and one of the few neutralized Thai's. Correct? Dutch/Cauasian
  12. It's racist by definition as my previous comment. Whatever I agree of disagree is not even relevant.
  13. Way to answer no question ever. Please, do explain how I'm racist (don't worry, I don't expect you to asnwer)?
  14. Possible mixed. However he's Thai when it suits him and Caucasian when it suits him.
  15. Yes what? You think Thais should have priority over foreigners. That is racist What does race discrimination mean in legal terms? The legal definition of race discrimination doesn’t only cover ‘race’ in the sense described here. People of any colour, nationality, and ethnic or national origin are protected from race discrimination under the Equality Act 2010. This includes white majority ethnic Scottish people, although they are unlikely to need that protection as they’re not generally at risk of discrimination. Hate crime legislation defines race in a similar way.
  16. You're a Thai - white Caucasian? If we were done, why do you bump a two month old thread?
  17. Last time you said you were Thai. Liar liar. You're not going to look up the meaning, because you went to school with Lord who? Lol Anyway, since you're deviating from the subject, I believe we're done.
  18. Food doesn't magically appears in people's fridges. Even if you don't work, you still have to venture outside of your home. When you're retired in Thailand, mandatory insurance is part of your visa application. Again, don't comment if you cannot even bother to look it up. The term racism isn't exclusively used for races. Again, look it up.
  19. I feel your pain. Ask staff for a jump rope. Best exercise you can do in a small area. They are only 200/300 baht.
  20. CP is heavily invested in the Sinovac vaccination. Hence they are pushed so hard in Thailand. Also, Thailand is making their own vaccine, they don't like to see money slip out of the country. It's all about the money, but what's new.
  21. Barking up the wrong tree mate. I completely agree with you and the Sandbox program ????
