  1. That 60 day overstay is the key - your reporting has not been updated on the data base being used so online reporting is not available to you, or me, or many many others. On web site no indication why but if you get that overstay notice on app it is seems to mean database error.
  2. Can you download the Android app and run that? Once you sign up log in and see if you are listed as overstay. If yes data base is wrong just as mine is (and so many others).
  3. Actually there are not many such facilities at all as most people treat family at home as the cost of help is not that high here. I hope both have been here and will be able to adapt to the change, climate, language, customs. This is a major change, especially if still mentally active. My wife has (and is Thai) and the last thing she would ever want to do is move to unfamiliar surroundings.
  4. The final word - always. Perhaps a radio control switch at pump tied to an electric type float switch at tank with the transmitter? Believe they have such things for lights and such but don't use myself.
  5. He needs to stop the pump - float only blocks the water - pump would then burn out. It appears would require a powered electric switch at tank and 200 meters of wire to a switch at pump to turn it on/off. Perhaps better to build more water storage and make the trips less frequent.
  6. But can you smile like this?
  7. As is evident this is still a how long is a piece of string situation. There just has not been enough time to know for sure. Current thinking seems to be six months for those most at risk and a year or more for those not. But even that is guesswork and until more of the world has access kind of meaningless (as this weeks SA version indicates). For the time being probably better for all of use to get the world vaccinated and run with perhaps yearly shots until that is done as this is not something that can be kept in a bottle for an extended time. 10% infection on a 600 pax flight from SA to Netherlands today.
  8. Anyone who wants a piece of the pie? The police and Embassy will both be immediately informed of death by law.
  9. Copies of old passport data/visa/extension and new passport data I believe. Link a passport to bank account must be Jomtien thing as have never heard of that from immigration and have no idea how they would do it as only banks have that information.
  10. Believe the 20k was for pre-op and indeed seems high - but that is often the case when hospital provides estimates as patient much happier to pay less then more.
  11. I would just do both at the same time if expiring soon - that is what I have always done in Bangkok - as said it is have request letter from Consulate, make copies and sign a one page form so few minute process.
  12. Yes for normal use - but for immigration deposit accounts the money must be in single name account and with current requirements that can tie up more than 800,000 baht.
  13. Believe it started to be enforced in Bangkok about the same time as the WTC terrorist attack and appeared to be in response to various international terrorist activities. So although nobody wanted to do it - it could not be ignored. It was an upper floor room at Suanplu Immigration in those days.
  14. The big issue is he says this is not a legal spouse under Thai law - so unless that is explained it is rather hard to speculate.
  15. A US marriage between male/female is fully legal in Thailand so this must be something else? As said proper will seems the best path as without legal marriage normal inheritance chain may not be what you want. ATM card use after death would not be legal (but probably not major issue if legally married). Reports of spouse on passbook of single named account holder have been made but suspect that would also require marriage. But after reading Tracyb post above may be wrong about that.
  16. Not sure of question but if monitor 32" expect you will be able to view without glasses if have normal long distance lens - I use about 125% using 23" monitor but find dark mode much better (which wish I found sooner as after operation everything is much too bright). Although I did use various reading glasses shortly after operation and have if need to read fine print - but mostly for printed materials rather than computer.
  17. But the point is this stopped working several months ago - now the actual account must be tagged by Wise in advance (by a request to Wise to do so) to be reasonable sure of it being recorded as FTT by Bangkok Bank. It seems they are not using reason for transfer to do this anymore if account has not been tagged.
  18. You are aware that most medical clinics are single person beauty centric or questionable in Thailand, but probably OK for a cold or minor cut - most people go directly to hospital for direct treatment by specialists where testing and many doctors are available.
  19. No shots fired. ???? But often those we talk with only have part of the story and just as often two will have three stories. For a time 'long stay in Thailand' was working to route money but now seems only tag of destination account seems to reliably result it FTT.
  20. Sorry but that is flat out wrong - Transferwise (now Wise) has been using local currency accounts for years. Tagging will in almost all situations result in using Bangkok Bank payment channel (but of course is not guaranteed). Most of us are using for retirement extensions which is 400k in bank all year and 800k required for 5 months. There is no risk - you can still prove funds came from outside Thailand (as in 3 posts above or even Wise PDF) - but may require extra work so understand some will indeed use bank account rather than face that potential issue.
