Do not believe that is the case here in Bangkok, or they would not have been successful for the 30 years I have lived here. They make a small profit but they also know the sellers and buy in bulk so prices are competitive - and more importantly the quality is kept high. But as mentioned if want cheapest price old stock sales from supermarkets are likely to be go to place. That said, not all grannies are rip offs. As for fruit trucks suspect you are talking the parked type are hard to identify - those that work the soi's will have speakers advising what they have (that often could wake the dead).

All this and no mention of the daily pickup truck sellers? Are they not available in Pattaya? Here in Bangkok that is what most housewives have been using for decades. Each seller will have a set route and you can order for next day if something they do not have on truck today. Buying within steps of home in open air sure beats most markets. They sell everything including meat/eggs/fruit/local packaged items.

There were two - NT(TOT) and believe other was True - was to use for data. My fear is even if he gets SIM card a deposit may have to be made before using it and with no access to funds could be an issue. But I am far from a phone guy - having just upgraded to a Nokia 110 (battery lasts more than a week).

That means you are not being charged for the leaking water but should notify them before it gets worse. Not sure there is any council involved - suspect it would be whoever supplies the water - here in Bangkok it would be MWA
-
As SIM cards require in person activation not sure it will even be possible to use. As it is your account they can not send to someone else (they use the phone number on SIM to send to you) - and your friend will not be the account name. Hope someone can provide better advise. If you have funds in home country perhaps better to make international transfers to pay bills.

Most feel it nice to have a Thai GF I suspect. I was saying that in the Summer of 69. -

Any government office. Immigration had acceptable dress posted outside office most places. -

No really - and it used to be spelled out that you would not be accepted in such attire. Have you actually noticed the average size of us (not just the old) recently? Not a pleasant picture. ???? -
You might want to indicate if for wireless remote access (internet) or just a home monitor wired system. Believe most people DIY. There is also choice of camera types with newer units providing full color at night (old units revered to b&w for night vision). Most items sold now seem to be wireless (but believe coax still more reliable and better quality). For DIY you will find a lot of equipment on Lazada.

For some having a wife might become a larger problem. ????

There has been a short cut to new entry status using airport turn around in the past so boarding pass is often checked for last several decades. Your history likely triggered that response. But immigration can be hit or miss for anyone in most locations - I once had issues with Hong Kong (40 years ago) even on a diplomatic passport. In Kenya they were convinced my telephoto camera lens was a bomb and took 2 people from Consulate to get me through. -

Suspect that says it all - they are police and checking those with history intensely. -
Not sure what that is but believe most masks with filters are for protecting you - not others - from my understanding. Great in the workshop but not good for protecting other from a virus you may have.

As said that makes no sense at all - yearly exam type testing is designed for you to have that information. If done only at doctors orders rather than a scheduled plan the doctor should have provided copies but you might have to ask in that case. As said you can request from staff at any time. In fact most doctors will write up a multi page medical report if you ask. I request results of all tests and a medical certificate every time and have never had any objection to providing such (it is often a requirement for insurance).

Unless you know probably best to visit ophthalmologist at a hospital. Cost is not that much here.

He knows because of the number of such shops far exceeds the total number of trained optometrists. The profession itself has only been around in Thailand for the last decade. https://news.iu.edu/stories/features/thailand/university-partnership-helped-establish-optometry-in-thailand.html

Passport about to expire
lopburi3 replied to sanook 1's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
1. Your visa was used years ago - a notation of it would have been placed in your new passport but not the visa. 2. Immigration will have records so old passport is not required. Current passport will have permitted to stay stamp and re-entry permits if you travel. 3. The void stamp in passport does not void any valid visa - so people with multi entry can continue to receive new 90 day entries - just as a Thai with US 10 year visa can continue to use visa in old passport. 4. Normal retirement visa is multi entry one year O-A visa if obtained in home country these days. O visa used to be normal and can also be issued but more often for wife - but can still be used for retirement extensions of stay. Non immigrant visas are normally one entry or multi entry. Multi entry is valid for one year (but if new entry just before expiration can cover almost 15 months.
