    Thaksin is clearly out of touch the judiciary here is just a nodding dog for the government and has completely lost any form of independence and justice making decisions are a shambles.

    Thaksin is no doubt fully aware of that given the persecution he and his family received and  continues to receive by the Thai judiciary at the behest of the current PM and his ultra corrupt cronies.

  2. Well the triple lock calculation for UK pension rises for the following year are based on the inflation rate in September. Given that they have just published the July inflation rate as 10.1% ( higher than anticipated ) I wonder how much it will increase in the next 2 months. ? 12% in September perhaps ? If it were it would certainly bump up the state pension. Oh yes, before the usual trolls on here jump in I am talking about the increases in the UK state 2023  pension for those that qualify and are entitled to it.

    Building application  - Stated restaurant.

    Building inspectors - signed off restaurant.

    Business owner converted to night club after approval.

    Cannot see why the people that approved and signed off the build would have a twichy A-hole.

    From a much earlier police report;

    "The owner will face the negligence causing death charges and operating without a licence as well as illegally adapting the building."

    My lawyer has a different take on NOK.

    She says; i'm many cases it would be the wife or the son, or father etc., but the law doesn't say it has to be the wife etc.

    She says NOK can be whoever the person wants to nominate.

    On hearing all this my Oz buddy appraoched the same lawyer and asked if he could make a written statement saying that his long-term live-in Thai gf is his NOK?

    Answer "YES, but best to get such statement written very clearly and signed and witnessed by 2 adults (Thai or farang) and include the full details of the witnesses (full name, ID card / passport number, address, D.O.B., etc.)."

    Lawyer's further comment; the law does not make it compulsory for the wife, father, son etc., to be thr NOK because the law recognizes that there can be situations where the person involved doesn't have good or perhaps any relationship at all with a blood family member. And further the person's own wishes/desires must be respected.

    This may help to clarify;

    yes, thanks, I have seen when it takes me to the final page and there are taxes applied, but that price is still far cheaper that what the hotel is asking.

    Well yes that has been almost always the case with hotels worldwide.  The "rack rate" displayed by hotels is often far higher than what you need to pay by going through a booking agency. The "rack rate" is a walk in rate really.

    I think somebody paying 240k a year for health care can meet the requirements, people who cannot should not be here.

    That logic fails me. For retirement extension you need 800 k. If you have to, or willing to spend 240k on insurance that is possibly a hefty chunk out of your available cash assets. Or is it your mindset that somebody who has to pay, or needs to pay 240 k for insurance are entitled to stay in Thailand and those that can not afford that sum, or have no wish to, are not entitled to stay in Thailand ?
