LittleBear57 replied to Rich the Robin's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Also make sure the stamp you out. They didn't me and 3 years later had issues leaving the country. Didn't get picked up at Pattaya immigration at visa ext, but did at Non Khai. -

Have fun. -
Me too, asked for help on a few issues electronic stuff as I don't have any of that on my 16 year old Vigo. Then drove off. One thing though, I would not have black car, looks great in the showroom but needs washing by the time you get it home, shows up everything.

Bang Saray is much better.

Too many places selling stuff on the pavement, bikes usually parked up flower pots scattered around dodgy paving slabs and manhole covers nearly forgot the dangling cables which may or may not be live. Best though was when looking at stalls selling on the pavement on 2nd road Pattaya in the evening after dark, about 20 years ago. I stumbled into an elephant coming the other way. Very fast and silent. Luckily it stopped and was very placid, I even bought sugar cane for it as a thank you for not squashing me.

LittleBear57 replied to VintageTQ's topic in Health and Medicine
3 days in hospital for an endoscopy, wow, was there complications. Had mine done at Phyathai Sri Racha. They had an offer on at the time, but I'm sure it ended up a little over 20k fortunately my insurance paid for it. In and out same day very professional, I thought. -
Getting rice in a a restaurant first and then waiting 15 minutes for the rest of my food annoys the he'll out of me.

There are also some dwarf plants which give Cavendish looking bananas. I tried to buy them a couple of years ago, no success. The ones I grow look like Cavendish but once they ripen they go soft and gel like very quickly, especially in the hot season. Taste great though.

Did you eat any street food lately?
LittleBear57 replied to black tabby12345's topic in General Topics
BBQ chicken , with sticky rice and a very tasty tamarind sauce. Sorry no photos just brought it home and ate it for lunch. Everywhere round here at the roadside. Bang Saray, Sattahip area. -
Hold on Mayanmar. Is pretty lively too. Can even get cholera to go with the bullet dodging. Realistically you need some sort of degree from your home country. You need the TEFL course. You will need the right visa and other documentation. No criminal record. You will have to start at the bottom and work up if no teaching experience. It's hard work and not easy for someone at pensionable age. It's not exciting and you're always carrying a cold. I found it tough trying to get through to 32, 5 and 6 year Olds of varying standards. Good luck if you are serious. You need to be.

Keir Starmer: Friends Say He Desperately Needs a Break
LittleBear57 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Liz Truss was so much worse, and Boris Johnson too. If it hadn't been for these two, he wouldn't have got in in the first place. Sunak left to mop up the mess caused by them was an impossible task. Farage and his mates didn't help by taking a large amount of conservative votes. Personally I don't like him but some of the alternatives are scary from both parties. -
Been good with the things I have ordered always on time. Never had to return anything yet though, but you can click on the page to access a return form. Had issues in the past with Shopee and Lazada, a major one right now with lazada, awful customer service. Hopefully Temu returns will be easier if needed.

Lazada - If it looks too good to be true ...
LittleBear57 replied to Crossy's topic in General Topics
Lazada is full of scams and their customer service is nothing short of appalling. I am going through it myself at the moment and will put up a post myself soon. -
There are many mixed sex volleyball teams around or were in my competitive days playing. I actually played in 2. Women seemed to be better in some areas of the sport, but not in spiking or blocking due to their height generally. However if teams are of one sex, then that is what they should be. Women against women and men against men. That has to be the case in all sports.

Not really spending any less on a daily basis. Needed a new car and gifted the money to my wife who purchased it in her name. Paid for the families Healthcare insurance on my UK credit card, not mine though as I believe that is tax deductible. Gifted my daughter the money for her expensive dental brace. When she hopefully goes to university I will gift her her accomodation fees and course fees if they are not tax deductible. I have a military pension as well as the UK state pension. I read somewhere that military pensions in Thailand are not taxable, don't know if that's true or not. Went to our local tax office about getting g a TIN no. and they didn't think I'd have to pay tax. They would give me a number if I wanted one, but suggested I wait and see what happens with immigration. Anyone renewed their visa extension recently?

High school student fatally stabs junior at Sattahip school
LittleBear57 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
The child murderer is out on bail now. I'm told it was 10,000 bht. As has been said if his father is in the military it will be brushed under the table and forgotten about. It would appear that is the case. Sad and so very wrong, there has to be serious consequences for what appears to be a premeditated crime. -

I am in the process of buying a Honda WRV. Have paid a deposit but could walk away if you are selling at the right price. Paying 650,000 bht and collecting this week. Where are you and milage etc. It will be the wife's car so she will have the final decision.
