There are many mixed sex volleyball teams around or were in my competitive days playing. I actually played in 2. Women seemed to be better in some areas of the sport, but not in spiking or blocking due to their height generally. However if teams are of one sex, then that is what they should be. Women against women and men against men. That has to be the case in all sports.

Not really spending any less on a daily basis. Needed a new car and gifted the money to my wife who purchased it in her name. Paid for the families Healthcare insurance on my UK credit card, not mine though as I believe that is tax deductible. Gifted my daughter the money for her expensive dental brace. When she hopefully goes to university I will gift her her accomodation fees and course fees if they are not tax deductible. I have a military pension as well as the UK state pension. I read somewhere that military pensions in Thailand are not taxable, don't know if that's true or not. Went to our local tax office about getting g a TIN no. and they didn't think I'd have to pay tax. They would give me a number if I wanted one, but suggested I wait and see what happens with immigration. Anyone renewed their visa extension recently?

High school student fatally stabs junior at Sattahip school
LittleBear57 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
The child murderer is out on bail now. I'm told it was 10,000 bht. As has been said if his father is in the military it will be brushed under the table and forgotten about. It would appear that is the case. Sad and so very wrong, there has to be serious consequences for what appears to be a premeditated crime. -

A few years ago our bar in Bangkok was offered bootleg spirits. We always refused but many didn't. Spirits in bars everywhere in this part of the world may be fake, you have no idea what could be in there. Drink beer that you open yourself, no money to be made in faking beer. Last month myself and the family were in Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang and Vientiane. Lovely place but corruption exists and bars can make a big profit with mixers and fake spirits. So sad for the girls who just were there for the thrills in Laos and had a drink laced with poison. Beware it could happen anywhere in this part of the world. It would be nice if those responsible were severely punished. Lives taken away from them before they barely got going. RIP.

Phuket Taxi Mafia Confronts Tourists Over App-Based Ride
LittleBear57 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
There are better beaches and good affordable food elsewhere, not worried about the nightlife. Been twice to Phuket . Overcrowded, overpriced and overrated.- 113 replies

I don't drink at all when I drive as I have enough problems with all the idiots on the road as it is. Drunks included.

I believe they took canned food with them and as a result possibly suffered from lead poisoning which can affect the brain. Also Hypothermia does strange things to the mind. So perhaps coupled with starvation, I guess it's quite understandable, cannibalism happened, hopefully they were not murdered to provide food. -
Thailand's Cashless Leap: Ahead of the Asean Pack by 2028

I'm not sure how secure phone banking and swiping is and I don't like the banks and others knowing exactly how and when I spend my money. I use cards when it suits me, but for what and when is my choice. On another thought, I live on a budget, so if it's 7000bht a week I draw out 7000 and watch how it goes to make sure I don't run out. Swiping for everything even at markets and cafe's must make it very difficult to control. -

Where to travel in Thailand in October
LittleBear57 replied to CharlieH's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
Generally October is the wettest month, although this varies year to year and area to area. Expect plenty of rain. It doesn't stop us doing out door things but be prepared for rain. -
what is required for a re entry permit these days. It will be the first time I've left in years.

I’m hiring it: McDonald’s Thailand adds Texas Chicken crew to menu
LittleBear57 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I quite like the KFC zinger deal, a burger,2 wings, fries, and a chicken piece and drink (refillable). If you look at Texas chicken deals there isn't really a comparison, and where they do have a similar meal it seems more expensive. Like Texas chicken wrap though. KFC's fries are awful though, always seem old and soggy no matter what time of day you buy the meal. -
British man rescued after falling off cliff in northern Thailand
LittleBear57 replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
Easily done, falling there. Don't need to be intoxicated, scrambling to a good viewpoint the ground is loose and wet, the path in some places very narrow, sunrise so bad light too. I saw some people going where I wouldn't when I was there in the dry season. When you are young you take more chances. -
Thailand’s national parks smash revenue records
LittleBear57 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Been to all of them over the years. Doi Inthanon paid Thai price and a pretty good national park. Similan over rated maybe better to stay overnight but too busy and not great. Koh Samet , why is this a national park at all, over developed, way too many tourists, and if you pay attention walking on some of the the paths rubbish strewn all over? Ao Phang Nga some decent islands in a pleasant bay, not bad enjoyed the kayaking. Mostly famous for an old James Bond movie. Noppharat Thara beach ironically isn't in the national park. There are some lovely islands that are in this park and I'm sure if you tried to visit most of them they would charge more than a daily price as its not possible to visit all or most of them in one day. My favourite Nation park is Sam Roi Yot had to pay the tourist price but lots to do and a great place. -

I'm not in a pub in the UK buying beer. And its a matter of principle. And how much do you pay to enter National Parks in the UK?
