For the best part of a decade, Thailand has been mooted as a potential location for a Formula One race. Back in 2013, the Sports Authority of Thailand even approved a proposed route for a street circuit in Bangkok. The route would go through the heart of historical Bangkok, giving spectators and TV viewers the chance to see several tourist spots such as the Grand Palace, Victory Monument and Temple of Dawn. Daily News Thai Cap: Open until dawn! Daily News reported on a raid by Region 2 and Muang Pattaya police on a club in South Pattaya this morning. The Posh 69 Club in Soi Bongkot had been opening to dawn. Picture: Daily News At 4.30 am this morning the cops found many cars and motorbikes parked outside and loud music coming from the venue. This was turned off and everyone present - more than 100 men and women - had urine tests for drugs. Picture: Daily News 15 came back with purple or positive results. These people along with the manager were taken away to the Muang Police station. Suspected drugs in ziplock bags were found in the toilets and by a fire exit. Searches of vehicles in the parking lot found nothing illegal. Electronic cigarette items were found in a room in the club. Picture: Daily News The pub is being prosecuted for not having a license, having no license to serve alcohol, allowing drug taking on the premises and contravening regulations regarding e-cigarettes and shisha. The media further noted that despite not having a number the property was still attached to utilities such as water and electric. Daily News reported that a man who had shot his wife and her former husband dead last month and had then hidden in woods in Phrae, northern Thailand, had been shot in a judicial killing by a SWAT team. On October 19th Pho Bunmalert, 42, had used a shotgun to kill Phraewphan, 27, and Kanya, 42, in a kitchen of a property in Soi sub-district of Wang Chin district. Following the shooting he disappeared into the forest but officials heard that he had visited a housing estate to get food and provisions. Picture: Daily News He had been scaring locals threatening them that if they gave him away they would be killed. A SWAT team and local Soi police gathered Sunday morning before daybreak. There were about 30 armed men. When the suspect was discovered he was ordered to give himself up but replied that he would fight to the death. He fired once and then the officers opened fire. Picture: Daily News His body was found next to a weapon and ammunition in a ravine, he had been hit three times. Daily News Thai Caption: School shooter arrested Police and military units were mobilized after shots were fired at a Chinese language school in downtown Ranong, southern Thailand. Around 7-8 primary school children were at a flag ceremony doing some practice for a competition at the time of the shooting on Sunday. They fled for cover inside school buildings and filmed where the shots were coming from. It was soon discovered that the shots came from the third floor of a nearby four story property that has an engineering supplies shop on the ground floor, reported Daily News. Picture: Daily News Other residents of the property who were not involved in the shooting let investigators in. They arrested a 43 year old man, the son of the owner of the property. The school is called Ming Sin and deputy provincial governor Piyapong Chuwong said that it would open as normal today with a guard to assure parents and students. There were no reports of any injuries or deaths from the shooting. The Seriphan gold shop about 200 meters for the Mae Sai police station was hit Saturday. Five baht weight in gold necklaces was snatched. This is worth about 150,000 baht. The thief dumped a Honda motorcycle with no plates at the Ton Kluay port on the Mae Sai river and swam across to Tachilek on the Myanmar side. Picture: Thai Rath Police in Mae Sai soon discovered that the thief is Seri Masaeng, 34, from Chanthaburi a recidivist who is into drugs and travels frequently into and out of Thailand. He had just been released from jail in a Tai Yai controlled area across the border. The concept this time is “Monkeys treat Monkeys” with there being 30 statues of monkeys dressed in Thai costume holding trays laden with delicious food at the event site, the front yard of Phra Prang Sam Yot temple. Served were a variety of dishes including Hanuman hors d’oeuvres, fried rice and a variety of fresh vegetables and fruits that monkeys love including durian costing 700 baht a kg and blueberries. The 54 year old heard what he thought was a cat, but then discovered the sound was a baby wrapped in a plastic bag crying. The child is recovering in hospital. Several thousand macaques enjoyed the annual monkey festival in Lopburi yesterday. By Tanakorn Panyadee Pattaya — Thai and Dutch tourists were robbed of their valuables by two unidentified thieves at a Pattaya hotel/resort early this morning, November 27th. Pol. Capt. Sontaya Khansub from the Pattaya police station responded to a theft report at an unnamed hotel on Soi Pattaya-Naklua 20 in Banglamung, Chonburi, at 4 AM today. The two victims, Mr. Christian F., a 37-year-old Dutch national, and another Thai female victim only identified as Ae were waiting for the police at the hotel. Mr. Christian told police that he placed 4,000 baht in cash on the table in his hotel room and went to take a shower. The Dutch victim then came out after finishing bathing to find his cash missing and signs of someone having entered his room.
