The latest delay in the planned procurement of the Yuan-class S26T sub was primarily attributed to the failure on the part of the shipbuilder, China Shipbuilding & Offshore International Co., to install a German-made MTU396 engine aboard, thus prompting the offer of a Chinese-made engine for use instead, Adm.Choengchai said. The planned procurement of the 12.4 billion baht submarine, which would be Thailand’s first in six decades, had been earlier scheduled for 2023, then postponed until 2024 purportedly due to the pandemic situation and in the latest development put off beyond 2024, according to the navy chief. Nevertheless, Adm.Choengchai said the Thai navy would insist that the Chinese navy guarantee the quality and efficiency of the little-known Chinese-made engine in place of the German one for use aboard the S26T sub. BANGKOK, Nov 22 (TNA) – Thailand’s Hom Mali fragrant rice lost its world championship to Cambodia’s “Phaka Lamduan” rice in the World’s Best Rice 2022 contest in Phuket. Chukiat Opaswong, honorary president of the Rice Exporters Association, said Cambodia’s Phaka Lamduan fragrant rice narrowly beat Thailand’s Hom Mali 105 rice because the Thai rice variety was less fragrant. He blamed the defect on prolonged flooding in Ubon Ratchathani province. The association on behalf of Thailand sent only one rice entry to the contest which drew 20 entries also from Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, India, Pakistan, the United States and China. I personally would like to apologize to all my neighbors and the wider Ratchayothin community as I know sound can travel in air. My six year old departed for the sanctity of TikTok after a few minutes but Mrs Rooster and the nine year old stuck it out with dad and were in for a treat. England scored three brilliant goals before half time against Iran and though they took their foot off the pedal a bit in the second half and allowed some sloppy goals the result was a 6-2 pasting. During the match I'd explained to Mrs R about the lyrics to the anthem "It's coming home". The thirty years of pain. The disappointment. The idea that any success we had is getting further and further into the past. The prospect that finally the agony might, just might be over. She was a bit bemused by this baring of the Blighty soul but despite my Thai she seemed to get the main points. THFC - my daughter - just loved the game and the high-fiving and said she'd be talking about it next day to her teachers. Indoctrination - tick. Manager Gareth Southgate called it a "marker". In the second match in Group A between Senegal and the Netherlands it was two late goals from the men in orange that sealed the tie that will surely decide the group winners and runners-up. Rooster has predicted the Netherlands to go all the way though I'll be praying they don't if they meet England! Today in Thailand there is a mouth-watering menu for footy fans on Live TV: Group C Argentina vs Saudi Arabia 5pm Group D Denmark vs Tunisia 8pm Group C Mexico vs Poland 11pm Group D France vs Australia 2 am. Argentina will be looking to get a hatful against the Saudis who are usually hopeless in the World Cup. It remains to see whether they will be inspired by the expected presence of MBS who the CIA says is a journalist murderer. Lionel Messi will be the man to watch as he attempts to put the World Cup on his CV and challange the status of Pele as the GOAT. Denmark could be dark horses in Qatar. They are trading at 35-1 on Betfair. England's positive showing has brought them in to third favorites. I'm planning on some shuteye for the third game but the alarm will be set for France against the Aussies in the night. National Police Commissioner General Damrongsak Kittiprapas explained that the point-deduction system is designed to promote safe driving. Every year, road casualties claim more than 22,000 lives in Thailand, which has the ninth-highest rate of traffic accidents in the world. Drive safely or lose points All driving license holders will start with 12 points each, Highway Police Division commander Pol Maj-General Ekkarat Limsangkat said. However, these points will be points deducted whenever they are caught committing a traffic offense. “For minor offences, we will deduct one point. For serious offences, we will deduct four points,” Ekkarat said. Speeding, failing to stop for pedestrians at a zebra crossing, talking on the phone while behind the wheel, or driving a vehicle with no license plate will cost the driver one point. Two points will be deducted if they are caught jumping a red light, driving against the prescribed traffic direction, or driving while their license is confiscated or suspended. The three-point deduction is reserved for illegal road racing, while the highest penalty of a four-point deduction will occur in serious offences like drunk driving. 77kaoded went to Samut Prakan south east of the Thai capital Bangkok after a shooting incident at some condo buildings in Bang Poo Mai. It happened at building V8 of Charoen Sin condominium. A 38 year old man that the media named only as Wee said that he had become fed up with his noisy neighbor opposite in Block V7. When the neighbor came out on the balcony at 5 pm he shouted over to ask him if he would please turn the sound down at night. The neighbor called back to apologise and say that it wouldn't happen again. But the pair agreed to meet downstairs all the same. When they were downstairs out front of the buildings another man turned up with a gun. He said he was the neighbor's cousin and started threatening him. "So you think the gun isn't real, eh? he said. Then he fired a shot at the ground and added menacingly: "You still think it's not real?" He then started waving his weapon around before walking off. The police were originally called after the incident on 191. But nobody showed up. So the complainants in the shooting had to find the number of the Bang Poo police and call them. They were on the scene at 10pm gathering evidence. By then the two people in building V7 were long gone. CCTV and witness evidence will be used to help crack the case. Siam Rath reported from a meeting in Koh Samui in the south of Thailand making preparations for the arrival of the first luxury cruise liner to dock there since the pandemic. The Viking Mars will arrive next Sunday morning and stay until the evening when she will continue her journey north to Laem Chabang in Chonburi. She is coming from Singapore. On board will be 700 European tourists who will spend the day sightseeing on the holiday island. Samui district chief Chayaphol Inthrasupha convened a meeting of officials from immigration, customs, tourist groups, local officials, the TAT and business operators yesterday to prepare everything for the arrival of the ship. The district chief said it was a great economic opportunity for the people of Samui even though it is a relatively short trip. But he said that a lot of tourists of all kinds will be coming in December. Then in January two cruise ships will dock overnight on 1st to 2nd and 10th - 11th of January. It happened on the Phatchkasem to Chai Thalay Road in Bang Saphan, Prachuap Khiri Khan near the Bang Saphan Withaya school. Police found some of the rolled steel still attached but about twelve tons was all over the road. Driver Suwat, 41, said he was taking the metal from the area to Rayong and was doing about 30-40 kmph along windy roads when it came loose. An initial investigation discovered that the scrap metal was not properly attached to the truck. The factory where it came from has been contacted and better procedures are being put in place to avoid a repeat. Political pundits point out that the Democrats have for decades been chained to their bureaucracy-like party structure, rigid seniority system, and long-held regionalism. This has brought stagnation and a lack of new ideas in the party, say critics. “Old-styled management and the practice of prioritizing seniority have prevented the party from thinking out of the box. It’s difficult for the party to move forward,” said Yuthaporn Issarachai, a political scientist from Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University (STOU). He said political parties today need the fresh thinking of the young generation as a driving force. “We have yet to see this in the Democrat Party,” he added. Investigators had found a Honda Accord in the Mae Pa creek at the weekend but no driver. A search was mounted. The lady driver has now been found exhausted and staggering in the area of Mae Thort sub-district. She was reunited with her daughter at the police station, reported Sanook. Disorientated she tried to find her way back to the main road after she managed to extricate herself from the car. But she ended up getting deeper and deeper into the jungle until she found officials eight kilometers away.
