Sanook Thai Caption: Step grandfather rapes granddaughter Social activist Paveena Hongsakul has been brought in to investigate after a 13 year old girl told how she was raped and threatened by her step grandfather over many years. Neung started showing sex videos to "A" when she was just six. He would fondle her in the toilets saying it was an expression of love. But when "A" had had enough of the abuse Neung turned even nastier. He poisoned a soft drink and raped her. Relatives doubted her story at first but now it has emerged that Neung was blackmailing his granddaughter, reported Sanook. He had sent her chat messages saying he was going to kill her and would kill her beloved pet cat. Adults in the family initially thought that the teen was making things up until they saw the damning evidence. The Muang Phichit police are on the case and will deny bail to the suspect as he is likely to interfere with witnesses in the case. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-10-31 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Electric car owners will soon find themselves making a greater contribution to the country than they ever imagined. Apart from reducing emissions, electric cars become potential “power plants” that strengthen national energy security or even be part of a disaster relief solution. The recent signing of MOU between the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and Japanese carmakers Nissan and Mitsubishi has brought this dream one step closer to reality. The cooperation is part of the ERC Sandbox Phase 2 project under which a study on Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology is to be implemented. If successful, the virtual power plant (VPP) concept will soon become a reality. A virtual power plant is a network of decentralized power generating units, such as solar farms, wind farms, and even batteries of electric vehicles (EV). The concept allows for the purchase of excess power from these power–generating units. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, EGAT Governor, said that promoting EVs on the local market is a significant step to move Thailand forward to achieve its carbon neutrality goal by 2050. EGAT has taken several initiatives towards this aim and one of them is to build an EV ecosystem. Lt-Gen Jiraphop Phuridech said that Samrann Seemaek or Bank, 34, was named in a warrant for premeditated murder after an incident in February 2009. The Canadian man - an executive of Panorama Condominium - was shot outside his residence in Patong. A business dispute with a Singaporean had built up. A Thai woman was engaged to find a hitman to kill him, reported Siam Rath. The suspect had kept a low profile for years but last month he had been found living in Pathum Thani. He managed to go to ground again and was eventually cornered in a house in Hin Lek Fai sub-dictrict of Hua Hin, Prachuap Khirikhan. He denied involvement but police say they have plenty of evidence for a conviction. Samran was a fixer who arranged accommodation and rode a motorcycle during the crime. Five other suspects have already been prosecuted. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-10-31 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Speculation is rife that property tycoon Srettha Thavisin will be one of three prime ministerial candidates put forward by the Pheu Thai Party at the next general election. Sources from the biggest opposition party hinted that Srettha, president and chief executive of Thailand’s leading real estate developer, Sansiri Plc, is being “seriously considered” by Pheu Thai for the national vote, tentatively scheduled for May 7, 2023, by the Election Commission. He is likely to join the existing surefire candidate from the Pheu Thai stable, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the youngest daughter of party patriarch and former prime minister Thaksin. It is unclear if Pheu Thai leader Chonlanan Srikaew will be its third PM candidate. ‘I have no conditions at all’ Srettha, 59, has neither confirmed nor denied the speculation but has not ruled out the possibility of becoming a Pheu Thai PM candidate.
