  13. Picture: 77kaoded 77kaoded reported that a member of the public found about 70,000 baht in a cab. He filmed evidence of his find and posted on Facebook as he handed over the cash to the taxi driver. It was hoped that this would be another way to trace the owner of the money. Instead of ensuring that the money was returned to its rightful owner the cabby arranged for a female friend to pretend she was the owner. Monchai, 43 went to the Muang Samut Prakan police. Picture: 77kaoded He said that on Sunday around noon he ordered a cab on a mobile app for a journey from his home to Sri Nakharin. He found a zip purse. It contained about 70,000 baht. The driver said it must belong to the previous passenger. The driver said he knew the identity of the passenger through the Grab app. He felt that the driver would get a reward for handing in the money. He checked with the Grab call center and found out the name of the female passenger. She said she'd be going in the evening to pick it up. This was at odds with what the taxi driver told him. Monchai wanted the money to be handed over at the police station. She said it was not convenient. The taxi driver admitted he'd given the money to a friend. While at the police station the taxi driver phoned to say the money was now at North Samrong police station. He said he'd be at the Muang police station shortly. Monchai waited an hour until the taxi driver called to say he was on the Bhumibol Bridge. He should have got the the police station in just half an hour. The passenger denied he was just making content and wanted the money to get to its real owner. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-11-01 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. 19. by Paul Rujopakarn BANGKOK (NNT) - The Bank of Thailand (BOT) has said it would end two policies initiated to mitigate the impact of the pandemic, including measures supporting the property sector and corporate bonds. According to Assistant Governor Chayawadee Chai-Anant, the central bank will not extend its loan-to-value measures for the property sector. The central bank last year raised the ratio limit to 100% from 70-90% to spur activity in the real estate sector. In a separate statement, the BOT said it will end applications for its corporate bond stabilization fund this year. The 400 billion baht (US$10.53 billion) fund was launched in 2020 to backstop the corporate debt market and reduce risk. The central bank said the need for support from the fund has declined due to the improving situation.
