The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. Following the decision, a new guideline will be introduced in the form of ministerial regulations, while rules for e-cigarettes fall under the responsibility of the police and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society. Concerning the reported sales and consumption of cannabis by a primary school student in Lampang, the minister said the consumption of cannabis products among people under the age of 20 is strictly prohibited. Thai Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Chalermchai Sri-on disclosed that the Bureau of Import and Export Food Safety of the People’s Republic of China’s General Administration of Customs (GACC) lifted the suspension of product exports from five more poultry and poultry-based product businesses in Thailand. The lifting of the suspension follows progress in cooperation between Thai and Chinese authorities in working to lift import bans for Thai companies that follow China’s protocols in preventing disease contamination in their products and maintaining managerial confidence. Currently, 20 Thai companies are permitted to import poultry and frozen poultry-based products into China. Sorawit Thanito, director-general of the Department of Livestock Development (DLD), said the GACC evaluated these businesses and determined that the producers adhered to China’s import regulations, allowing for the lifting of export bans from these five companies effective July 22, 2022. He also emphasized the importance of prioritizing product safety and preventing contamination in products to boost confidence among domestic and international consumers. By Nop Meechukhun Walking Street, Pattaya – Pattaya City Police together with Law Enforcement Officers from the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) conducted a raid at the entertainment venue ‘Flexx Club’ on Walking Street very early morning, July 24th, following alleged reports made to the ONCB of cocaine and ecstasy sales between customers in the venue. Drugs, however, were not found during the raid but Pattaya police said there were multiple other violations. Upon the raid, led by Pattaya police chief Kunlachart Kunlachai, which began at 5:00 AM. on Sunday July 24th, more than 200 tourists and customers were seen dancing and drinking on the second floor of the venue. All of them were taken for urine tests which revealed that 4 of the customers, including 2 Thai women and 2 transgender individuals, were found positive for illegal drugs. It was not immediately clear what drug they tested positive for. The man was also also captured on CCTV urinating in front of the shop early Friday morning, July 22nd. Nattathida H., 28, reportedly told Pattaya law enforcement officials that before the incident, her foreign boyfriend was reportedly physically and verbally quarreling with another foreigner. The confrontation ended after she reportedly had to intervene to help solve the situation, according to Nattathida. It is not immediately crystal clear what caused the original conflict, who initiated it, or the source of the quarrel, and conflicting statements have been released from the multiple parties involved. As of press time, Pattaya police have been reportedly meeting with those parties and examining the statements and information. TPN notes that counter police reports have been reportedly filed by the unidentified foreigner allegedly involved in an earlier altercation with Nattathida’s foreign boyfriend, stating that he was allegedly attacked/assaulted physically and suffered physical injuries that resulted in hospitalization.
