Thitikan, 42, from Rayong, used to be in charge of customer accounts at a bank before she fled three arrest warrants in 2015. Crimes committed in February, June and December of the previous year allege that she stole from her employer, falsified documents and defrauded customers. She was picked up at Wat Pa Nong Phai in Muang district. She denied everything. The media reported that in 2014 Thitikan often visited her clients at their homes to gain added credibility. She used to fill in their slips and make deposits so they didn't even need to go to the bank. But she was entering the wrong amounts and creaming money off the top, it is alleged. She also came up with some completely bogus slips, forging signatures. But when a customer went into the branch irregularities were found. The total missing was 3 million baht. She got wise to the investigation and fled in time. These were typically wishy-washy indicating that the RTP hasn't really thought the issue through. The spokesman didn't even know what different car seats were. Pol Maj-Gen Jirasan Kaewsaeng-ek was sure about one thing - the law meant that EVERYONE in a car had to wear a seatbelt front or back. Unless the car was really old. Previously it was just the front meaning the driver and passenger. Regarding car seats for children he spoke of there being three kinds of restraining devices - "car seats, special seats and seats that stop danger". What these actually are was not clearly articulated (the press didn't press him). All he did say was that the RTP - of which he is of course a part and a spokesman - have yet to decide what car seat means. When that is sure it'll be implemented immediately, he said hopefully. One reasonably definitive point was that cars registered before January 1st 1988 that could not be fitted with seatbelts would be exempt. But his main point - and that picked up by the media in their headline - was that the police would only conduct a public information drive at first warning people that they all had to belt up. Picture: Thai Rath Thai Rath reported that Yannawa police in downtown Bangkok received a call at 3pm yesterday that a 17 year old girl had fallen from the sixth floor balcony of a school building, the top floor. At the scene by the Chalerm Prakiat building of Satri Si Suriyothai school in Charoen Krung Soi 57, they found "B", from class 6/2 still breathing. She had head and leg wounds and was dressed in pink PE kit and brown trousers. She was given CPR at the scene then rushed to Lertsin Hospital but died there. Yannawa chief Pol Col Thanachote Rikdee said that everything had been normal, she had been doing activities with school friends. Friends and teachers said that B was a lively young lady with no apparent stress problems or issues that anyone was aware of. The parents were set to be interviewed to try and confirm this. The media noted that the balcony only has a one meter+ wall and it was possible that it was a complete accident. It is also thought that the barrel of the gun used to shoot both victims in the head was ordered from abroad. The frame of the gun was also adapted. DDC Director-General Dr Opas Karnkawinpong stated that from October 1 onwards, COVID-19 will be put on the Public Health Ministry’s list of communicable diseases under surveillance. The virus is currently classified as a dangerous communicable disease, as determined by the National Communicable Disease Committee (NCDC) in February 2020. According to the director-general, diseases on the communicable diseases under surveillance list must be reported to the ministry as soon as a new case is discovered. He reiterated that despite some other countries now treating the virus as any other general disease, ministry officials will keep a close eye on the situation to ensure that no new significant mutations emerge that pose health risks to the public. The director-general also said authorities are still closely assessing the current situation before considering lifting the remaining restrictions. He still advises the public to maintain prevention measures such as social distancing and wearing masks, especially for vulnerable groups who are prone to severe COVID conditions. Director-General Dr. Thares Krasanaiyarawiwong revealed on Wednesday, August 10th, that the Department will propose the cancellation to the Public Health Ministry after the resolving situation of the Covid-19 outbreak in Thailand. The proposal will be introduced to Minister Anutin Charnvirakul before being issued as a Public Health announcement in the following step. It is initially planned to be implemented in September, if approved. Dr. Thares stated that according to a survey in early August, there are currently 11 registered hospitels from 79 hospitels at the peak of the pandemic, providing a total of 3,220 beds. Five days have passed since the horrid Mountain B nightclub fire that killed 16 people and injured several more on August 5th, and finally, the pub owner Pongsiri Panprasong, 27, or “Sia B” who was released on 300,000-baht bail was ready to talk. “I apologize to every victim’s family. I will try to visit all of them to deal with the funeral arrangements and compensation,” Sia B said briefly before letting his wife Anongnart Panprasong, 31, speak. “I was checking our stock outside the pub when I heard a blast around 1 AM. I saw customers rushing out of the front gate; some were covered in flame, so I used a wet towel to help them before I called a firefighter,” Anongnart stated. Three of her employees reportedly died in the pub, but she said she was unaware because she was engrossed in an interrogation at the Plutaluang Police Station. When asked about their source of funding, Anongnart replied, “We accumulated money from selling goods, pork meat, and noodles. We also run a restaurant in front of our pub and manage everything on our own without any consultant or silent investors.
