Picture: Siam Rath Ang Thong was the scene of a major fight between warring students but everyone was soon in custody and on the way to the police station in the back of a police pick-up, reported Siam Rath. Even though they were already outside the station. Yes, it was all a drill to show the public how well the RTP are prepared to tackle violence between warring factions of students. Picture: Siam Rath That was the scenario that Muang Ang Thong chief Pol Col Natthapong Sriphenprapha came up with to show the top brass at RTP HQ and Region 1 that his men mean business. They took off their jackets and battled in the streets pretending to be two groups. Picture: Siam Rath Everything was soon peaceful and quiet and the miscreants were cuffed and taken in. There wasn't far to go. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-06-09 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Thais will be able to grow marijuana for personal use, while businesses can cultivate the herb on a large scale to produce cosmetics, food, and innovative products, beginning June 9. (Photo by David Gabrić) On June 9 (Thursday), cannabis and hemp finally become legal in Thailand and can be used not just for medical purposes but also as a cash crop. Thais will be able to grow marijuana for personal use, while businesses can cultivate the herb on a large scale to produce cosmetics, food, and innovative products. However, under Thai law, cannabis extracts containing more than 0.2 percent of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) will continue to be listed as a narcotic. Otherwise, users and growers will not have to worry about legal problems anymore. Going legal Thailand legalized marijuana for medicinal use in 2019, yet people continued to be arrested and convicted on cannabis-related charges because the plant was still a controlled substance under several laws. For instance, cannabis was banned under the Narcotics Code until December 9, 2021. Daily News Thai Caption: Can you spot anything? Thai media Daily News said they had been contacted by locals and tourists alike about the deplorable state of wires hanging all over the place near residences and sidewalks in Pattaya. Their pictures said it all and they asked if this is the memory that the tourists will take home with them. It was especially bad at the end of Soi 8 at Jomtien in the area of the beach. Picture: Daily News All the usual epithets were in their story that mentioned a "world class resort" and Pattyaya as a "window of Thai tourism". Yet the wires remain in place year after year "damaging the image of tourism in Pattaya". They even got highly sarcastic in their main caption with a picture that gave the impression of a complete and utter mess with the caption: "Can you spot anything?" It was obvious. ASEAN NOW wonders if the recently elected mayor has seen or cares about his untidy resort. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-06-09 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. The issue arose after the Digital Economy and Society Ministry’s Anti-Fake News Centre confirmed news of pink pineapple being illegally sold in the country is true and not fake after conducting a fact-finding investigation. Deputy Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Mananya Thaiset said the ministry is not staying still and is in fact more vigilantly monitoring illegal activity but with limited manpower the public is urged to be its eyes and ears in watching out for illegal online trade of GMO crops.
