    Greg,

about 1 week ago before the message that all flights in August were full, there was a clear message on the Thai embassy website stating that “Visa, and COE” would be dealt with once a repatriation flight has been secured and paid for, only then would a Visa and COE be issued.
    Just as confused as you

    What the hell.

Why am i messing around on a visa form then? This is stressing me out so much.

What's worst is they don't answer the phone, and give conflicting advice on replies to emails.

Richard has a very large following and reaches tens of thousands of people. If he returns to the UK he still has the same following of people. This is the global information age and anyone living in the Kingdom can provide him with information as well as following the local media stories. Once he returns to the UK he's free to publish and post anything he wants. Life and our perceptions of everything is all about the optics. Giving Richard the boot in my opinion is not a very well-thought-out plan. Biting the hand that feeds you is a 2-way street and Richard will always have the upper hand residing in the UK.

Richard will say <deleted> all. He isn't being kicked out permanantley, rather his visa has expired and he has to go get a new one. Once he sorts the <deleted> out he will return. Hence he is unlikely to start attacking Thailand once back in the UK. I don't know why special rules should apply to him because he vlogs. There are many vloggers in Thailand.

He's certainly gone on the charm offensive this week, promoting the country, like a goodboy haha

Unfortunate for his students once again.

  3. LOL the way some of you are going on it's as if Angel Barrow is Ghandi on a mission to rid injustice in Thailand.

He's only raised topics of dual pricing, and the odd police man asking for handouts. All of which are valid points that most of us have raised. I would hardly call these issues massive acts of treachery.

The question however is his work seems very fishy. From a teacher who is always travelling, to now a IT developer. I smell some horse manure in this.

Wrong, you must have a very poor memory.
Thailand had it's first case January 13th, they did not close the borders until April 4th! A national emergency was not established until late March. They waited 10 weeks to close the borders after their first infection, and you think this was a quick response? They were one of the last in SE Asia to do so, even though they had the first case in the world after China.
They also allowed 80,000 Wuhan tourists to enter throughout a 7 week period, while all of the images were coming out of China of people fainting and dying, and hospitals being crowded. This was before we knew basically anything about the virus.
Thailand went from under-reacting as if nothing was happening, to totally overreacting. People seem to have a very short memory

    Nailed it.

That is BS.  There is no separate pricing for Thais in the UK, or indeed for any tourists.  Rather the opposite, as they can get big discounts from their tour operator for attractions and that happens in Thailand too.

My point was if you saw dual pricing in London or New York they would be crying racism / xenophobia. Yet Thai's are okay with it in their own country.

I think they should require preflight testing for Thais, just like they do supposedly for everyone else.

But the fact they're not requiring it doesn't seem to me to be a recipe for disaster, so long as all the returning Thais and everyone else is required to undergo the 14 day mandatory quarantine and aren't released until they have a final positive test.

In that case, it seems to me, the risk they're incurring by not pretesting the returning Thais prior to flight is them potentially exposing others on their return flight and once they're in quarantine until they're isolated. After that, I don't see the additional risk.

Any sort of issue that increases infections is a risk.

Arrival at the airport, to your quarantine hotel isn't exactly a bubble. Loads of things can go wrong.

It should be mandotory for Thai's to get a test 72 hours before their flight, just like foreigners are made to do. This is safer for the whole flight so you don't get Thai's infecting each other and the 'tested' foreigners.

Improvement for whom?  whining, winging farangs?  The Thais make more money, they don't  give a monkeys toss what you, me, all of us and especially this Barrow person, think about it.  He was an idiot to think he can make an ounce of difference. Best bit of advice I ever got, from a long time farang here, is to always be the 'grey man', never draw attention to yourself by word or deed.  Good advice that.

You will only realise how offensive it is if you ever stepped foot in London, take a trip to Buckingham Palace for a tour of the palace. You look at the price list, and they have a seperate, more expensive price for Thai citizens.

In saying that, i have no issue paying the fees. Not many sites or parks i go to.

Richard used to be great, but he has got far to big headed and attention seeking.

He lost all independence when he started taking free be holidays off Hotel groups. How can he be neutral and independent when he spends long weekends on their dime with free 5 start accommodation.

I am sure he will be fine with his visa, he has this every year, its almost as if he loves the attention.

Taking up free stays in 5 star hotels a few months back, and then getting angry when people would question if his opinions are compromised, and how it effects his saintly image - was a low for him.

Thailand and the weak, incompetent, feeble and toxic army are not particularly open to criticism. Being as open and notorious as he is, cannot be easy. My guess is this has alot to do with the current "difficulties.

    Good grief.

I'm not a fan of angel Barrow, but calling for an end to dual pricing is hardly akin to 'Black Lives Matter' or Female rights. Thailand is no longer some third world country, it's tourism economy (before the pandemic) is one of the strongest in the world. It's clearly a racist/xenophobic outdated practise.

Imagine the outcry in any western country if there was a sign up at an attraction asking more money for 'Thai citizens'.

He’s an attention seeker end of story.

look at all this suspense he has created and now watch him get extended next week.

He does this fake suspense of will he or will he not be renewed every year.

I often wonder how he travels the country so much, yet is meant to have a full time job teaching. He is one absent teacher in that regards then.

Nearly 1000 deaths a month, and I don't see any rush to shut down the highways, nor beef up the highway patrol. In reality I do not ever see a highway patrol, until after an accident. Yet, a nearly complete economic shutdown over 58 covid deaths. The priorities seem distorted.

Could be a 1000 deaths a day if there was nothing put in effect to stop a pandemic

Many of the anti xaxxer crowd probably consume large amount of alcohol daily and think it's OK. That or taking handfuls of pills, but complain about a vaccine that could help them and or those around them. I think they are mostly the manly kind that's that are afraid of needles.

I'd be in the first group who want the vaccine.

Pretty much. Know someone who will put considerable amounts of chemicals (legal and illegal) into his body without flinching, yet is adamant he won't do a vaccine.

The proces should be simplified. Anyone, from any nation should be welcome starting tomorrow. If they are willing to support the economy by paying for quarantine, there is no risk, and only upside.

They are keeping the numbers low so they can monitor these quarantines. Increase them too much and you can lose that ability to monitor. I wouldn't trust any Thai officials to keep a track of what is going on, and making sure new arrivals are sticking to the quarantine.

He is refering to the Thai embassy in London Joe - there is no waiting list, even for Thais. When they announce flights its forst come, first served - that's why there are still some Thai's in the UK that have been trying to get home since March. Absolutely crazy situation.

I refuse to believe there are Thai's that have been waiting since March. Give me a source for this.

You have some who haven't completed the forms and aren't registering then whinging on facebook they didn't make the repatriation flight.
