I thought most ASQs were offering full refunds if you have to cancel but who knows. This aspect has been discussed somewhere sometime ago on TV. You may have to check with your short list of hotels directly. Have a look at this and scroll down to cancellation https://www.booking.com/hotel/th/royal-benja.en-gb.html?aid=1338124&label=asq-hotel
Most are non refundable. Some allow transfer to different dates.

It asks for you to upload a file for an ASQ hotel booking, which I assume would be a booking confirmation. But that's not possible until a flight is confirmed. How have others down this?
Do you have the correct visa and are you eligible to return? I'd strongly urge you to get your visa in order first.

I flew Chicago-Seoul-Bangkok arriving 31 August. The flight from Chicago to Seoul was pretty empty. I had the entire middle row to myself. Mostly Koreans and Americans and a smattering of Thais or Thai-Americans in my estimation. I couldn't get over the amount of Americans bringing their dogs to Thailand. With all the documents required you'd think it'd be too troublesome. I asked a falang traveling with his family and pet dog: No, the dog did not need to get a covid test. I was able to get some kip on the flight despite the babies crying an dogs barking. However the flight from Incheon to Suvarnabhumi was packed.
Persistence defeats resistance. If I could accomplish the world's greatest scavenger hunt then you can too.
Was your Chicago to Seoul to Bangkok all one flight?
Or did you go to Seoul then connect?
If so, who issued your CoE?

Thats outrageous... you’ve been trying to get back for a while now. Just awful.
The only thing I can recommend is to e-mail directly again and explain your situation.
Another alternative option may be to e-mail the Thai Consulate in Frankfurt.
Albeit over a month ago, however, I did hear that repatriation flights from Frankfurt to Thailand were quieter, i.e. there is less demand.
I’m not sure if that is a viable option or if they will entertain the CoE application from someone in the UK - worth a try.
Thank you very much, you've been very supportive and helpful during this stressful process.
I will email various embassies in Europe (Frankfurt, Amsterdam) to see if there is any feedback.

Then they’d be clear to roam around the island for their third week. After 3 weeks on the island the visitors would be free to travel to other parts of Thailand.
how are they going to know which tourists are which? which tourists have been in thailand for more than 3 weeks? which foreigners are tourists and which foreigners are long term residents, retirees, employees? will they have police checks all over the country continually stopping and checking foreigners? it's a mad plan.
You burn them with a numbered steak on their foreheads.

With the days gone by it's likely she caught it on the day of her departure - the plane being the most riskiest area due to Thai's not having to test to get on the flight, which is astonishingly absurd.

Would not a waiting list with paid deposits - not be better than the luck of the draw who can press click click the fastest?
If a thousand people had registered before me, i simply would accept the situation. What really hurst me is i have been beaten and hurt by what i believe to have been an IT glitch and literally seconds of having to go back and forth.

I was the same, registered a couple of weeks ago and one click, likewise it only showed 1 red seat in economy, logged in bang on 0900, whole process took less than one minute.
Now waiting for instructions from embassy for payment then book hotel.
How did you register a few weeks ago?
Registration had been closed for weeks.
Also, do you think there is a limit of the number you can process on one registration? I was basically into the booking system at 9:01 a.m. but it wouldn't let me book everyone in my group.

Their Facebook page is busy again this morning. Over 400 posts in the 2 announcements yesterday by the embassy for Sept flights.
Repatriation Flights booking and new website into motion on a bank holiday Monday when everything is closed, inlcuding the embassy.
Could you get anymore Thai than that?

I believe this flight is restricted to teachers only. There is a thread about it somewhere, in Thai News I think. Something about many English language teachers needing to get to Thailand. I suspect contact was done for those guys that had the appropriate visa.
Yes a few friends were eligible for this flight. But Thai Embassy in London were still towing the line that flights were closed, and to wait till September.
I know i am emotional here, but the Thai Embassy in London is is just horrendous beyond belief.

As I said on the first page "The talk in the UK community was that 3000 had registered for the July flights. There have been attempts to get more flights arranged but to no avail."
I think it was also interesting that the main International schools organised an EVA flight to return to Taiwan via Bangkok a couple of weeks ago. Obviously not much faith in the Thai gov to organise something for the teachers waiting to return, which they now have done. Currently on its way to London.
I heard about this education flight. What's even more galling is Thai embassy in London weren't really telling people about it - despite knowing some could get on it.
What type of incoherant nonsense is that?

I have just checked Skyscanner.net ..... lots of daily flights to London available .. just book direct via the internet problem solved .
I even did a dry run right to the pay and confirmation page to see if one was available and yes it was
From London to Bangkok.

Could it be they are limiting how many you can book on one registration?
If so, wouldn't it be bloody handy to tell you in advance. The embassy email told me to book everyone in my party on one address. But i know how Thai IT systems work.

Is it possible someone like the Thai embassy in London had block booked most of the seats already and therefore the number available was very limited?
HAS TO BE.
I was on the flight booking screen at 9:01am - i had everything copied and pasted into the registration.
I had the flights clicked. It just wouldn't let me proceed - with the damn error message saying not everyone in my party was registered.
Utter nonsense. I know i am being a bit over emotional here, but i am beyond devastated.
I was led up the wrong path, error messages that aren't making sense, and flights sold out in 3 minutes. Just beyond devastation.

Those like me were able to register in August as we missed that batch. This meant that those of use that did go through this and registered last month did not have to register today. This meant we were able to Login which automatically took me to the flight choice screen.
Granted it was closed and booked very quickly but it WAS possible to pre register last month for this month's flights.
On the same token, your login for today will work next month meaning your registered and don't have to do again
But i got to the flight booking page. I clicked on the flight i wanted. Clicked the class.
It said NOT EVERYONE IN YOUR PARTY IS REGISTERED. What type of error message is this?
I fear next month it will be the same nonsense.
I really am gutted here.
All the best you got through. I was given shiit advice by the embassy. He told me to reigster everyone on one address - i can't believe all flights were sold out by 9:01.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT I DID WRONG ?!
So angry and frustrated here.
I was up all night, didn't sleep. Was on my laptop for 8am, waiting and waiting - was refreshing and refreshing till i could log in.
There was no option for me to register at any time last week.
I register everyone in my party.
Click flight.
Tells me not everyone is registered. Randomly takes one person away from my account.
This messing about for a few minutes means i lost these flights.
I am beyond devastated here.
Away from my family for another month.

I had an email from the embassy on Friday. They gave me the link where to book flights. It had a bloody countdown. They told me to register all names down on one account.
I register all names and passport numbers.
Get to next screen to book flights.
Click on flight.
This is about 9:01am
I then get an error message saying i cannot book all people in my party. It removes one person.
I click on alternative flight. Again it does not let me book saying i cannot book all passengers.
9:03am i am on the phone to embassy (no answer) and trying to work out what on earth is going on.
9:04 sorry you loser all flights have gone.
-
The thing that messed up my booking was trying to book for 3 people. The system just wouldn't let me book.

Got my mother a flight. Pre registered so I was able to click next multiple times until confirmed, took about 1 minute
What do you mean you PRE REGISTERED ?
The countdown opened at 9am ... there was a huge bloody clock counting down.
As soon i logged in, attempted to book a seat it wouldn;t allow everyone in my party of 3 to book. I was specifically told this is how you register.
If all flights are gone in 4 mins, shouldn't this tell them there is a bloody huge DEMAND FOR FLIGHTS BACK EVEN WITH A QUARANTINE.
-
I was on at Bang 9am.
We had our visas.
How do you pre register when they don't open till 9am - there was a huge countdown.
Tells me i can't register everyone in my group. <deleted>
Automatically takes away 2 people from my group.
Then can't select class of seat.
Then tells me flights are gone.
In 4 BLOODY MINUTES !!!!!!!!!!!

Today was the day the flights were open for repatriations. At exactly 9am. I have been up all night waiting to book.
Had everything prepared, all my passport numbers copied and save for a quick paste.
Website crashes at 8:59am.
Then tells me i cannot book every passenger in my group.
I ring embassy up 2 minutes later. No one answers.
At 9:04 i get a message saying all flights have gone.
WHAT THE HELL.

I've emailed a few embassies around Europe and no such luck at the moment. Language barrier and difficulty understanding what i am trying to suggest seems a major stumbling. The major issue appears to be the CoE , which looks like it can only be issued in the country you are departing.
Grasping at straws here ... but is there any feasable ways to travel from Taipei or Hong Kong and transfer from there, and get a remote CoE from those embassies - what does a CoE look like anyways? Is it a stamp in your passport, or just a letter?
Still furious and angry here. I firmly believe next month, i'll be in the same situation - some IT error, because i am attempting to book 3 people, will mean i miss out again. The lack of queuing system really is appalling and cruel.
What's even more disgusting is some of these flights have not been travelling full. Alot of passengers not turning up and not paying. They just can't be arsed to fill the paper work to add more passengers.
