How could they test a vaccine (phase 3) when they have no Covid. Maybe that's why they want to open borders to tourists.
They will test it abroad.
The UK vaccine is being tested in Brazil and the USA.

Will this definatley be with Quarantine? I'm not reading much on details.
To open up without any restrictions would be reckless. I know some have a high labido and are desperate to return, but this needs to be controlled.

Yes 2 weeks stuck in quarantine and then a week where you have to stay locally to be tested again, then free to move on.......all being well.
It's sensible.
Free movement would be ridiculous. The virus will return, and they'll be back in lockdown.

Mind bogglingly stupid to allow Indians to enter at this period. They simply are not testing the population to get a realistic case load, but what little testing they are doing is showing the virus is rife out of control.
This is where Thailand will slip up.
-
So how does this work - 2 weeks quarantine, then an extra week before you can move from Phuket?
Or is this something else?

£200 for a week in Greece, no quarantine, do what you want and the food and beer is actually cheaper than here now....No ones interested in coming here anymore
Go there then. Nothing stopping you now, or in the past.
But beware the virus numbers are becoming high there again.
Furtheremore, you will have to quarantine on your return to the UK.

On a biological this doesn't make any sense.
- If they are allowed to wonder freely around their resort, then what is to stop them being infected by new arrivals ?
Eg, say i've done 13 days quarantine, stuck around the resort. Then on the 13th day some new arrivals come, who have the virus, infect me ... however it is shown that if i take a test the next day i may still be negative (as it can take a few days for the antibodies to start appearing in your blood and symptoms), so i could take a test on the 14th day, get cleared to leave the resort and into Thailand - but then have the virus.
or
You could be in a perpetual state of doing a couple of weeks on the resort then get infected, then go do weeks in hospital.
The quarantine system they have is unfortunately the only decent system in place - and even that too is becoming lax with security if you read up on social media. The goal would be maybe to increase the quarantine facilities available.
Or
they simply allow the virus to roam back into the country and try to limit it's spread. However, if there is a major outbreak this will turn off any hope of tourism. Furthermore it will harm their population.

Which is funny as they absolutely hate each other and the recent skimishes up the North of India has made it a even worse...
Maybe Thailand can threaten them with visa restrictions on any outbreak of war.

Quality over Quantity?
The moment they stopped restrictions on Indians and Chinese all that went out the window.

Sorry, I live here. We don't want open borders until we know a whole lot more about what we're facing.
Too late, the Wuhan poseee, Americans, Indians and British are coming. Might be a few Brazilians too.

It's pretty simple.
Twinning is another term for bubble.
Bubble and all that malarky was to let Chinese tourists back into the country.
The same China that has wrecked Thailand's economy, and the world.
What's inept is trusting China after all this.
ShameFULL.

A raging pandemic like you have in India, USA, wouldn't help the economy either. On top of that you would hurt the citizens you are trying to protect.

You have one application in the system. https://www.thaievisa.go.th will not allow you to apply for two separate types of visa at the same time.
If you have applied for entry under an education Visa, why would you apply again under a different visa?
If your first application was a mistake and you want to start over again, you may have to access that application and deleted it (if possible) then start again. Or, re-register with a second / different e-mail address.
Hello Richard,
this application is for extended family. So parents involved.
I will do both applications seperately.
Furthermore, it's now telling to post all the documents to them (London is too far to go in person). So what's the point in doing everything online, if you just have to go bring all the documents again?
I am now struggling on the payment page, it just keeps resetting.
Sigh

So i complete one application form for Thai evisa. It's under education. Then it asks if you want to add another application. I now go to fill my details, which will be a different visa.
The programme does not let you change the visa type. It keeps to education visa.
What to do ?
-
Quick question regarding the e-visa.
So i commence the application for education visa, then when i go to commence another application for myself as a Non immigrant 0 it does not allow me to change to this option.
Is this a glitch ?

He is writing about the file size that is a max of .5 MB.
The size of the photo does not matter since it will adjusted to fit when you upload it. Perhaps a good size to try is 2 X 2 inch or 3.5 X 4.5 cm.
Thanks Ubonjoe - you are a star to this community.

For a Thai visa applying online from abroad ?
Yes, the photo needs a to be smaller than the maximum allowed (as do all other documents )
Hello there ... what does 'small than maximum allowed' mean ?
I was talking dimensions.
-
Quick question - does the photo you have to submit for the evisa application, have to be any particular size?
-
So question again - do i register for flight, or work on getting my visa?
Also how do i register for CoE flights, when it's a party of 4? TWO ADULTS, TWO CHILDREN?

Yeah i am seeing alot of this 'roaming' around. This will not work and defeats the object of the quarantine exercise.
If you have done lets say 13 days out of the 14, and the encounter people who are on their first day who may have the virus - what's not to stop you catching the virus?
You can also be asymptomatic for a day or two, and not show up positive on a test. Say you are on your final day of quarantine, but you encounter a few people hours before your final test before release. They transmit the virus to you, but because it's only a short amount of time, you will clear the final test. However, you will be infected.
I suppose this may well be why they are then having another 7 days whilst on the island - but this would then mean Phuket would be a hot bed of people possibly having the virus. What then if workers return back from Phuket to Bangkok etc?
It's terrible science.
