  1. Thanks Scouse, we did think of applying for that one earlier this year but went for the six month instead.

Just one more question and as always squire you never fail to deliver - if we applied for a two year visit visa and they declined it because its for two years would they automatically give us a one year or even another six monther?

  2. Thanks Scouse. One other thing, this has been the Mrs' second visit visa, both were granted without problem, as mentioned we will be back in the UK for Christmas and probably again next summer, is it worth going for a settlement visa but with no real in tention to spend continuous time here, having the 2 year visa will make it easier than applying for visit visas every 6 months and would that cause any problems in the future?

    Thanks

  3. Hi folks, its been a while. The Mrs is currently in the UK, she flies home on Tusday, she has been in the UK for 11 weeks on a 6 month family visit visa, that visa expires in September. We will be applying for another family visit visa later in the year to start in December, I know that on these visas the maximum time in the UK is 6 months within a year period, I just want to check that there shouldn't be a problem getting another one for December, the time spent in the UK would have only been 11 weeks and she won't be travelling until mid December so a total of 13 weeks spent in the UK on 2 different visit visas by the end of the year.

    Hope that makes sense?

  4. I believe you can apply for another visa as soon as the one you currently have/had is finished, a Thai can only stay in the UK for a maximum of 6 months in 1 year so I think that your Mrs having already stayed just over 2 months of this year in the UK could only stay another 3 1/2 months of this year on a new 6 month visit visa, i'm sure this will be corrected if i'm wrong.

    Good luck.

  5. I would like confirmation about the 90 days within 6 months. I will be leaving Thailand on the 27th April and arriving back on the 30th, counting back from April 30th to October 30th only counting the visa on arrival - I have a total of 58 days used, I did get a 2 month tourist visa from Penang which I used and also had a re-entry stamp associated with that visa but as they aren't visa on arrivals - I haven't counted them - is that correct, assuming i'm right, when I arrive back in Thailand on April 30th I will get a 30 day visa on arrival stamp??

    Thanks

  6. We eventually stayed at The Phuket Patong Premier hotel, right next to the Phuket food court, I stayed at The Deevana last year and its opposite that, this hotel was 2300 per night and I highly recommend it, breakfast until 11am and each room with dedicated beach towels, 2 things I have never experiened in a hotel before.

I now consider this topic CLOSED.

    Thanks

  7. Hi, within the last 6 months I have used up all my 90 days tourist visa days, I am currently obtaining a 2 month tourist visa from Malaysia with the option of a months extension, my question is....if I were to leave within the 2 months of the visa and return within the third would I be stamped in on a normal 30 day tourist, I have been told that by obtaining a 2 month tourist visa then after that I'm allowed 90 days again within 6 months - is that true, also can I extend the 2 month visa before it finishes, if I were to leave within the 2nd month would I be able to get the third month added on before I leave?

    Thanks

  8. It will be this month - 18th - 22nd.

Had a lool at that websire, when you say 'might be pushing the budget' you mean completely blowing it out of the water - ha ha, thanks though.

Come on folks, give me names!!

  9. Hi, we obtained a Schegen visa last summer for Tenerife, here are 2 numbers which I have for the Spanish Embassy in Bankok, I can't remember which one we used - 022589020 and 022589021, the lady was really helpful. Our application consisted of the relevant forms etc, copy of my parents deeds for their condo in Tenerife, a written invitation from them saying we could stay there, health/travel insurance for the Mrs with a limit of 2 million baht (if I remember correctly) and details of our flights, this was only a preliminary booking but when we got the visa we had to show actual tickets for the dates.

    Good luck

  10. Bit more I should mention, I have actually lived in Thailand for nearly 5 years on a non imm B but I didn't bother renewing it last year as I now work 6 weeks on and 6 off, I thought that a maximum of 12 weeks in a 6 month period is fine but I had a bit longer time off last summer. I'm 31 and married to a Thai, as I said I will be here from January 20th until Feb 26th then back in April for another 6 weeks then not back until September, whats the best thing to do??

    Thanks again

  11. Hi folks. I have a question regarding the allowed time in The Kingdon within a 6 month time, you can spend a total of 90 days within 6 months - is that right, does that include any extension (if any) after the 90 teh days, i'm talking about coming in on a normal 30 day stamp at at airport?

I am due back in Thailand around January 20th and counting back to July 20th 2007 I have spent a total of 60 days there, I will be back in Thailand on this occasion until around the 26th February, is that how it works etc?

    Please advise.

    Thanks
