Letter from tax office in Thailand

Transfer said funds to wise, then wise to thailand... Bank in the UK is merely being difficult. -
How did you meet your wife? First words?

Her office, after a month, she plucked up the courage to ask me out. -
Legally speaking that specific part of the beach belongs to us *(chanute)*, though i'm more interested in the water docking not sand docking.

Does anyone know the laws in thailand in respect of putting a floating pontoon from the house onto the beach (easy rib parking). In Thailand?

Just building a new beach home, admittedly i am not really 'watching the money' on this one as its something i've waited a while to commence. Works out to be roughly 20,000 THB per SQM for the 'Shell'. over 1.2m alone for 2 x 40m walls and 2 x 10m walls (parameter walls) @ 3meters high for first 20m linear and 2.5m there after... Cost then goes into prettifying and covering the concrete shell, i'd hazard around 35,000-45,000 THB per SQM by end of, but the plunge pool will cost 300,000 for piling alone and about 800,000 from rebar to functioning. Numerous additional costs such as transporting materials by long-tail (1,000 THB per trip) and I am looking at 160 trips, plus 4 ferry trips at 70,000 THB each

I'll give it from a middle class perspective. Wife's friends. 1) Previously 'concubine' to the owner of a Premier League Football Club. - Now married (his second marriage - secret) not allowed children, to a tier one 'thai official'. - White Skin Southern. 2) Had many men (Thai) that are upper society, or upper middle class but could not support her demands now with her original love (private relationship to married man) who has since she was a young girl, and continues to provide money, car, home etc - White Skin Southern. 3) Thai lower middle class, unmarried and works for Government, looking for a foreigner boyfriend because she has no interest in Thai's, want's to see the world and move to Australia/NZ/Europe/US... (she's down to earth). - Brown Skin Southern. 4) Married a European who didn't really want to marry after first marriage in Japan, has money but did not show it to her until after marriage, he didn't want a child but now has a child. - Brown Skin Southern - He's unfaithful (she doesn't know) and a bit of a jerk. 5) Prettiest one, engaged to a Korean, who works overseas, happy to remain in her property and meet up for coffees etc, no idea about marriage or settling down (both of them), no interest in going to Korea - White Skin Southern. - He has trust issues, but to be fair, she is a godess... very lucky, but she loves him and has no interest in fun and games (shame). Asked the wife when we met whilst she was studying in Europe, she said she had no interest in being a 'second wife' or a 'first wife' and being cheated on. - White Skin with a garden tan Southern. Wife's family are fairly wealthy, she is the eldest and has a younger sister (slightly) with two kids, considered the responsible one. Wife often remarks about 'Buriram girls not being faithful, and or only interested in wealth or appearance of it. - Wife is personally worth about 165m THB (her own assets) but dresses down as well as up, doesn't give a hoot about peoples thoughts, gone past that stage. From all of that, I took 'stability', 'faithful' and ability to 'provide' meaningful life. Average Westerner is Gucci appearance - Broke reality. Average Bar Girl - is a simple yet also sharp when it comes to obtaining 'money'. The average 'costs' in keeping a middle class (mid-upper) in the state of society (my wife's parents paid for this before we married) is approx 20-80,000 THB a month (skin creams, fillers, etc). Average westerner lives of 50,000 THB a month. Many Thai's are far wealthier than westerners, but they also like to shop for newer models constantly. One Thai guy i know (had 9 businesses pre covid) and was dating with '2' above recently married and word dropped she was pregnant, a mistake but one he is dealing with appropriately. As for language Thai woman learn English quicker than a westerner learns another language from observance. Me i speak little Thai, rather not hear the rumours.

Phuket immigration very strict on retirement extension requirements
Jenkins9039 replied to xylophone's topic in Phuket
Thought it was 65,000 per month OR 800,000 set aside for 4 months... When did the rules change? Sucks to be an old fart dancing to IO tune but the rules are the rules. -

Seems to be a general belief that tourists are coming to Thailand this year, I'd argue its evident they will be in (Europeans) Southern Europe, North Africa. https://www.surinenglish.com/malaga/passengers-numbers-continue-20211014115322-nt.html

Possible but NOT definitive, i.e some of the requirements to enter Thailand don't apply to Elite Visa holders. Further the Visa's themselves are issued for 'Five Years' but you still need a annual stamp (leave, but don't have to leave) so Immigration in Bangkok (Elite Team) handle that (if in Bangkok) or email over docs if outside of Bangkok for local immigration, so IT could be enforced 'annually', No. 3) What is the cost analysis of how much more or less expensive the 20 Year Elite visa is compared with getting 20 one-year annual extensions of a marriage visa? Think of it as connivence and hassle free, i worked it out to be on par with those people that do visa runs if you factor in 'decent travel', and 'half decent hotel' etc as you go up the annual 5-20yrs etc its works out cheaper. Beside, its not really the cost, if you have the money and not the patience then that's the selling point. I was previously WP, Marriage, Investor Visa (40m) and now Elite, each visa prior was a headache, elite is 'all done for you'. Yes, you pay after being accepted (they run criminal checks on you internationally , and also run AML on your funds via world-service something). No, possibly, Elite is a 'tourist visa' but is considered permanent residence (for the duration), but permanent residence via marriage requires a marriage visa i understand. No, I don't believe the government would renege, its a contract... and works both ways, enforceable via failing to do so in most competent courts in most jurisdictions, Thailand could be held to account for violating a contract, and when there's 15,000 of us... it becomes a class action - stop listening to the guy with no pot to <deleted> in talking at the bar lol. Main one it should come down to is 'do you have the patience'? - if not, then its the visa for you.

Ask the wife, its her decision i take it, i mean she owns the residence you sleep in lol

FCD Accounts (Kasikorn)
Jenkins9039 replied to Jenkins9039's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Why not use wise and transfer baht into a baht account, its usually instant, and no charges, can withdraw straight from ATM. I was looking at FCD for tax reasons (Singapore mature for 12 months then bring in). But turns out the account doesn't serve the purpose. -
FCD Accounts (Kasikorn)
Jenkins9039 replied to Jenkins9039's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Yep domestic and swift. -
Recently went into a branch to open an additional account (with a new bank, opposed to existing bank, i bank with), its been something like 10yrs since i opened anything new, anyway, they looked at my visa and said oh Elite arrange this for you, so rang them, they've spoken to Kasikorn and heading to the branch tomorrow to open the account (freebies, and less requisites) They mentioned a SGD account (FCD) account, I previously had a FCD account with Bangkok Bank for my Thai company (EUR). Does anyone know how the FCD account works with Kasikorn ? (THB one i fully grasp lol). IS the FCD account a domestic or Singapore based ? - Kasikorn are operating out of Singapore also - hence the question, important reason (tax) and I generally think most bank staff give you the safest answer opposed to the facts if unsure.
