Pattaya to become Southeast Asia’s premier destination

You didn't read I said Oxford Brookes... different Uni to Oxford. I'm from western education and it has been no help in my life, I learned the most at home from my family. I'm afraid I have to disagree a business is simply finding a need and filling it. It was very bigoted, the assumption that a Thai woman is too dumb to do anything else but sell their body is a terrible statement. Anyways I'm done with one. -

Suspect was a German guy who also attacked a Brit earlier the same evening, would appear to be a random nutcase but that's just from the limited info in the article -
Belgian Tourist Dies After Brutal Attack in Hua Hin

Isolated incidents, there's thousands of us... They don't report on Bob walked safely down the street all week this week. I've lived on the islands 4 years not been in 1 fight or even a heated situation and actually never witnessed one outside of the sanctioned MT events. I've lived in many countries and Thailand is probably the safest I've ever felt, including Britain where I'm from. -
Pattaya to become Southeast Asia’s premier destination

Hi Susan Of course, your points are valid on the Oxford graduates, now find the % of Oxford Brookes grads in the past 5 years who are employed in their field from the degrees. Most are working in call centers and sales. Uni is not what it was 50 years or even 30 years ago, yes your elite school grads have no issues due to connections and prestige but your mickey mouse degrees mean jack<deleted> in the competitive fields. Again my point is setting up a business is not hard and this guy has a generally bigoted opinion that the single mothers who go into prostitution here are all dumb and from a village with no electricity and have zero other option. Massively racist opinion to hold. -

Bro I answered every question I'm just calling out racist behaviour while I did. Have a good day white knighting for the girls and absolving them from responsibility while assuming they are all stupid. -

My comparison shows that you would blame the dude for their stupidity or don't defend the men but you absolve the girls of their decisions and will go to bat for them. You're a typical lefty racist bro, thinking down on them and thinking every prostitute and single mother comes from some tiny village without internet and have received zero education, from what I understand most the female uni students do the sideline chick thing Firstly more people seem to be self-employed here than in the West who are indoctrinated into serving the corps through that education you appeal to, ask the majority of Uni students at Oxford how to start a business, and unless you were in the Business class they'd look at you as if you were asking them to solve the theory of relativity. They just know to get a degree and a job is waiting (it's not). Being a freelancer is a business, they are selling a service, pick a service and sell it.... same principle applies. You can earn money from your normal job and then do it on the side to start. Also I've not met one Thai person without a phone and data..... Sorry but if they have money for the bus from the provinces to Pattaya, BKK, Patong, Samui etc. then they've got $10 -

Get to know them, their family, their past, their financial situation and WAIT until marriage.... yes there will be some examples of men walking away but it's usually because the woman ignored the red flags Find it funny you ignored the comparison, I'm not saying it's entirely the woman's fault but you seem to absolve them of any blame based on your situation. Start a business so you don't work for 15k a month at a 7/11 or for whatever they charge men.. Before you say you need money to start a business, mine was started for literally $10 we live in the internet age, there's money everywhere to be earned. -

Again you need to vet the man before you let him inside of you, people lie, same as the old dude who marries a bar girl who promises she loves him, then screws him out of his life saving, do we only blame her or do we call him a gullible fool? And there are still plenty of other options than to sell your holes -

While true, you have to take some responsibility for who you allow to dip their dick and impregnate you in the first place, both mother and father are responsible. They have a choice but this is the most lucrative/"easy" option (it's not due to the long-term consequences but they don't think of that like the OF girls of the West) Some people in these situations need to be honest with themselves.... -

I agree that's where I go to get away from Samui. But if Thailand wants to create an Abu Dhabi-type retreat they need to invest in a new area and be serious about keeping it that way whether that is outsourcing the running to an investment company that would also be able to enforce no prostitution etc or at least keep it the way it is in the Middle East, high class and out of sight. Obviously, I know Thailand is incapable of doing this, I'm just stating that would be the only way they would need to put some serious money into building it and maintaining or licensing an area out for it to be run privately. -

Honestly I'm not that familiar but I thought Hua Hin was more family friendly? But Yes if they went with Hua Hin, Pattaya's reputation is well known. And my knowledge shows that Hua Hin doesn't have that rep. Wherever tourists go the women/men in dresses will (Phuket has Patong, Samui has Chaweng etc.) unless the Police do something about it, and we all know that a few baht will buy them off. The best option would be investing in building out a brand new area with real investment where the government would have a reason to at least maintain it for 10 years for show -

Didn't they have this conversation literally 2 years ago making it a family destination after Covid I understand it's location to Bangkok makes it ideal, but how exactly are they going to change it's image, shift out the expats or the hookers? Why not invest in Hua Hin, or another stretch of beach south of Bangkok, yes it would cost more to build up from scratch but easier to actually make family friendly. -
Foreign man knocks out Thai transwoman on Pattaya Walking Street - video

I'm with the foreigner like most of you, not been Pattaya, but the ones I've walked past in BKK or when I have to go to Chaweng in Samui they are so annoying and pushy. First time I arrived in Thailand 10 years ago, I got a taxi to the hotel I booked for the first night, and as I got out the taxi there were 2 dudes in dresses walking home (it was 6am) and they started the hey handsome bs and taxi driver chased them off! He got a good tip! -

This looks great, not sure about the heat, but I guess if your plot has a lot of tall trees that would mitigate it quite a bit. In fact, that would look awesome in a forest area even as a holiday home -

Maybe.. The fine caps out at 20k doesn't it then obviously need the money for a flight home so probably 30k needed, I wouldn't be shocked to know they have savings around this amount if shes working in a language school or freelancer without addiction issues. -

Of course this is inaccurate as all people with valid entries converted to the covid exemption before March 30th 2020 (think it was about the 26th when the country declared the emergency measures) so I'm guessing she didn't start doing the 60 day extensions when they were available in country for 1900 baht, I can't remember when that started again think it was either late 2020 or early 21 -
New Tax Rules for Expats in Thailand Spark Concern

So you add an incorrect caveat to the true fact that they are owned privately.... they are maintained and used by PRAs not just individuals and if they receive any government subsidies (many don't) they must allow everyone the right to use them. To touch on my belief on the welfare state, I'm from the UK, where there's very little community left and most of it is destroyed due to people on welfare, why be a good neighbour or member of the community when it's the government that bails you out in tough times rather than family or friends, why take care of your elderly mother when you can stick them in a government old peoples home instead. Communities would be much better without welfare in my opinion, I believe most people are good and we do not need bloated government bureaucracy to help people. I don't know your taxes, but do you think you could do more good with it for people who deserve the help than the government does? -

The Gas tax didn't come in until the 1930s, they were funded through Public land sales. Yes, there were some import tariffs, but again you had a choice like your shoes, if you wanted the imports pay the tax. I'm a voluntarist, I'm fine with paying for things I agree with, but I do not believe in funding my oppressors. For a modern example over 60% of Sweden's roads are privately funded. What alternative exactly, just because the people have been convinced taxation is just and indoctrinated into the greater good argument from school age doesn't mean it would not work, unfortunately, we've been highjacked by central banksters so there will never be a End the fed candidate allowed. -

I don't just have the opinion because the system is corrupt, taking money through threat of force is immoral. At what percentage would you be ok going to for a better society? 60,70,80 90% or 100%...oh no that's slavery Pre 1913 America, roads, schools, fire houses etc. all existed. They also weren't going around bombing the world before this period too..... Free market provides everything at much better value and better quality, and before you talk about the American healthcare system realize it is enabled by the government, for e.g. in some cities per state laws you can not open a hospital without the other hospitals agreeing so they can keep a monopoly on pricing, then we have IP protection laws allowing drug companies to inflate the market cost while they have IP protection which is a farce. And before you ask no I do not believe in social safety nets, families and communities such as churches should take care of this. -

What a dumb analogy you can walk away from the shop as you have a choice... A better one is you pay the mafia protection money so you don't get hurt by the mafia How wouldn't it? You aren't going to go the typical "muh roads" route, are you? -
