April Expat migration has started leaving places a lot quieter
Blumpie replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Little wonder it fell precipitously. The charms of Thailand are no longer the way they once were. It's expensive, relatively speaking to live there now. The corruption gets tiring and upsetting, as does being thought of by officials as second class humans. There are many other places to retire, some a little better, a little worse, etc. People already left. -
Tourism Council Urges Scrapping of Thailand Pass
Blumpie replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It's hard not to see the control that they have and, despite their reassurances otherwise, they are perfectly happy having their citizens go nowhere for holidays. The problem here is that China likes people to follow their lead. To open right up would be a bit of a slap in the face to them. So in that sense, I don't see Thailand doing it even though it's insane not to. Have friends going to the UK for holidays. No testing there or coming home. NO problems. Just go. The way it should be. -
Well I'm sure not.

Thailand further eases entry restrictions for international travellers
Blumpie replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Only 230 million people live in the USA and I"m not one of them. I don't have to here. And I would never travel if I had to test before coming home. -
Thailand further eases entry restrictions for international travellers
Blumpie replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Oh I agree. And what you aren't seeing is that when you need to test before getting on a plane, in many cases people are testing positive not because they are positive but because they were asymptomatic up to months before and still trigger the test and can't go. This is happening far more than people realize and if this happens no matter where you are your holiday is over. NO THANK YOU! I prefer to not test before or after my holiday. -

Thailand further eases entry restrictions for international travellers

Whatever the case a booster shot is considered or not considered in Thailand, chances are they will screw it up and make it so confusing that nobody will have a single clue what to do for months at a time. The only surprising thing that could happen is if they actually didn't screw it up and things went smoothly. -
Warning of new COVID-19 Omicron sub-variant spreading in US
Blumpie replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So catchy if you're a mile downwind in a windstorm you'll catch it! I mean really, it's over, time to move on. More catchy, less virulent, yada yada yada. Ad nauseam.- 37 replies

Thailand follows China like a little boy - or it seems that way. Honestly, this new variant varies from no symptoms to a cold as long as you're vaccinated. Oh well.

8 Million International Visitors Expected to Travel to Thailand This Year
Blumpie replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
And statements like this have been barfed out endlessly by people who actually went on holidays in Thailand. It isn't worth it and if you think it is, you were dropped on your head as an infant. -
Thai garlic farmers suffer as cheaper Chinese bulbs flooded the market
Blumpie replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
We have garlic here from China. I NEVER buy it. They not only use chemicals they also use human excrement to grow most things. It's disgusting! Particularly seafood (farmed) they feed them human excrement. In Japan, they have chinese goods and they are labelled in RED so people know where it is from. They are always 1/2 the price and nobody really buys them. I don't eat anything from China - and thankfully I live in a country where things from China are clearly labelled. -

Surin first province to make COVID endemic on April 1
Blumpie replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Oh pretty much. In Canada we are nearly there - it will be another month or so but that will be it. On April 1st you just need to be vaccinated to enter - no testing, nothing. Finished. -
Will tourism in Thailand bounce back from Covid differently?
Blumpie replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
One thing that I've noticed about Thailand is it really watches whaat China does and copies it very closely. In particular, the zero covid theory and lockdowns. True, Thailand is nowhere near as severe as china but they should have opened up long ago that's for sure. I also don't agree that Thailands beaches are fabulous. I've been to fabulous ones and can't say Thailands is.- 134 replies

Oh they never will. The place is very corrupt as we all well know. Why anyone would invest .01c there I have no idea - I wouldn't buy a condo, nothing. But hey, it's only my opinion and to each their own. Let's face it - if you're white your price went up or down, dependent of if you're buying or selling - in that order.
