I am too young to stay on a retirement visa, but I can say that I've never had any type of issue with an extension based on marriage. I pay only 1900 bhat a year at my local immigration office and my Thai wife pays almost everything for me

Why don't you renew your passport first and after that enter Thailand? Easy... I would never enter thailand with less than 6 month valid passport!

You have to wait for the under consideration period, after that you can. Easy!. But I've heard some people using an agent do not have to wait, they can withdraw money even while on the under consideration period

The best thing is to come to Thailand as a retired and enjoy the rest of your life here. Jobs make you too tired and stressed, not so good to live here. This is just my personal opinion

I would never let my visa almost expire in 2 weeks. I always renew it one month in advance or 45 days in advance. Why wait until the last 2 weeks?

I did it at the immigration many years ago. They changed my extension from ED to extension based upon marriage automatically

yeah but is too expensive. I do it alone and I just pay 1900 bhat at the immigration for one year. I prepared all the paper work at home, it only took less than one hour
