Electric Tuk-Tuks costing as little as 60,000 baht ready by October
redwood1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Sir you do know hard questions make people uncomfortable..... Also Where will a driver charge his Tuk Tuk? How will a all but currently broke Tuk Tuk driver buy one? Will a Tuk Tuk driver want to buy one? I sure would not if I was a driver... -
Yea......Like they have not read countless comments over the years of people very very unhappy with no sitting or shade trees....They know very well what people want, but they want a sterilized, lifeless beach......And that's exactly what the new beach makeover will be.......Even more sterilized and lifeless than now.....
-
I agree the Trees were wonderful....I feel thankful to have spent many happy days on the old promenade... Here are some drawings of the new promenade.....It looks like ALL as in every last shade tree will be chopped.......What little vib that remains will be finished....
-
I agree 100%........The promenade was like the heart of Pattaya...Hardly anyone recognizes or gives much importance to the promenade..... They killed the beach vib in 2013 ( hey same year they passed federal reserve act in 1913 in America....) The dead beach vib, spread more and more through Pattaya after 2013.... Now it looks like they will finish the job killing off the beach with the new promenade makeover...

Thai Bank Deposit protection cut to 1 million THB
redwood1 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Well if going from 100,000,000 million to 1,000,000 million was just fine then going from 1,000,000 million to 100,000 Thousand should also not be a problem... With a pit stop at 500,000 on the way down.... -
Change to deposit protection at Thai banks will have little impact

That it was planned back in 2011 does not answer the "Why" question..... -
Change to deposit protection at Thai banks will have little impact

I see this comment has been ignored by just about everyone....Not even so much as a like...... The most important question here...... Why? Why are they lowering the customers protection to a measly pathetic 1 million? Why? Very very good question.... No doubt they got their eye on 500,000 and then 250,000.......Don't laugh.....It was 25,000,000 million not so long ago..... -
Nonsense Pattaya always needs more malls, just look at Bangkok....Bangkok is absolutely saturated with malls, yet they keep building more......Pattaya only has about 10 malls...It's just shameful how deprived the people of Pattaya are mall wise...
-
Why not take the family and the kids to Walking Street? The Russians dont seem to have a problem taking their families...
-
Ok what's special about Pattaya then?......A few malls a few tourist attractions (if they are not bankrupt by now) and and and nothing else....
-
This is 100% correct.....There are LOADS and LOADS of beaches better than Pattaya beach......Pattaya has NOTHING special except sex....
-
So is it time (yet) to start a new thread discussing which food handouts have the best food? And which abandoned beer bars are the best for living in?
-
With so many 7-11s closed, you would think the remaining ones would be overflowing with stuff...
-
I can't see Bamboo Bar ladies using a app....They dont start getting pretty till after you have had 2-3 beers.....
-
I have ordered lots of stuff by regular shipping the last few years.....Based on my experience your odds are 50-60% there will be No, or minimal extra charges.....20-30% you will need to pay reasonable extra charges.....20% you will need to pay unreasonable extra charges..........It's honestly a <deleted> shoot, you never know.. Thailand is a bad bad place for quality smokes unless your very well off,and don't mind paying lots of $$$....
-
I would say the most serious problem we are all facing is my condos swimming pool is closed, and I can't drink beer on the beach..... But seriously..... When they force business to close and offer zero financial support....It does not take Einstein to figure out what will happen.... The unpleasant conclusion drawn from this is, what's happening is just as it's meant to happen...
-
I think they honestly dont give a rats-azz about the deck chair vendos, the deck chair vendors have never been treated that well..... No, I think the dislike for shade trees and seating is because, they don't want people hanging out relaxing and socializing on the beach....Which is exactly what was happening before 2013 when the beach promenade was a beautiful place, that everyone loved, with loads of shade and seating...... Cut down all the shade trees, plant a bunch of shadeless Palm trees, remove all the seating..........And Wa-la.......No one goes to or hangs out on the beach any more in the daytime because its scorching hot most of the year and there is no place to sit....... This shadeless beach it looks like they will be making is just another nail in Pattaya's coffin.... No one and I mean absolutely no one wants a promenade without seating or shade.....
-
This maybe true but the Palm Trees that they are in love with and plant everywhere are the type that don't give much shade at all....
