I understood that certainly until recently, you could have a limited time "added" to your passport if you renewed it a few months early, so that technically when issued it would be valid for 10 years and a few months. I am surprised that there are 2.4 million British passport holders at present whose passports are over 10 years old, and in the last months of this "extra validity!" It does sound like more "the sky is falling in due to Brexit bull" - but then I saw it was The Independent! If you are daft enough to book a flight or trip without checking your passport is valid...

I have enjoyed my time in Thailand, but...

If all he tells us about his alcohol consumption is true should burn with a clear blue flame! -
Come on, he's not going anywhere! It's the weekly bull! I doubt he could run to the bus fare to the airport, let alone flights!

I suspect that for "Bob" liquid assets are just that - the contents of the bottle in front of him!

Good advice, but perhaps the personal touch may be needed? If he were to present himself at an Immigration Office, he would be well received, and could make an appointment, giving him time to muster and to present all his evidence. Perhaps the second of April next would be an auspicious date ( Mondays are invariably busy). He will be seen off from the office by many waves, and cheery cries of "see you next Tuesday"!

Robust and challenging training is central to basic training in military and paramilitary organisations. There is a fine line between conducting such training and bullying; and there will always be instructors who cross that line, at times inadvertently, at times because they enjoy doing so. It is one of the functions (leadership) of their superiors to ensure that does not happen, and to identify and monitor vulnerable recruits.

Bangkok’s Airport Rail Link faces major maintenance
herfiehandbag replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Haven't travelled on it for some years. Does it still have that loud bang when it goes over the points at one of the stations - I think the one where the maintenance depot is? I remember thinking something is not quite right with that! -
Thaksin to visit Pheu Thai party on Tuesday
herfiehandbag replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Oh I expect they have been bearing it in mind since the coup which deposed him, (well put a stop to his re-election) and the subsequent pearl clutching, swooning, "prosecutions". Everyone outside the "AN Thaksin haters bubble" knows that he and his sister are the only democratically elected leaders Thailand has had in the last 25 years. -

Young Mr Rittenhouse really needs to be aware that enthusiasts and others like him will last no time, if they decide to make their guns part of the electoral process. If they "come out", and it is decided or necessary to disarm them, it will be quick and brutal. The ability to spray bullets downrange together with his bold words to Joe Biden or anyone else will count for nothing. His onanistic teenage fantasies of "gunplay" will end within the first 30 seconds of encountering state or government forces who know what they are doing!

As far as I can understand, this undertaking has in the last year had revenues of 4 million USD and made a loss of 40 million USD. It's share values have gone up massively in recent months, driven almost exclusively by small investors in the MAGA camp. Now if Trump cashes in immediately and realises the suggested 3 billion USD he will have to move quickly, if the board allows him to do so, as the value of the shares will plummet! It seems a scam, at the very least manipulation of the stock values. Now I know very little about the laws and rules governing such matters, but it looks to me like a "steal". Are there not regulations in place to prevent this practice? as for using that money to put up the bond, Monday is the deadline, so if it isn't done by close of play Monday it will be in vain. I don't think that the New York courts will accept a "Billy Bunter filing" - "I say you fellows, I haven't got the cash just now but I will have the postal order any day now!"

"Big Joke" on leave from govt service to rest with family in UK
herfiehandbag replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Short notice trips for a family to the UK are quite expensive - if you are on a policeman's salary!
