  1. All future industrial facilities over a certain size must be in the ECC Chonburi, Sattahip and Rayong as per the grand plan. They are all on board with it, BOI, IEAT etc. The plan includes banking and investment hubs on the Eastern seaboard, two new ports, the rail link, etc. https://www.eeco.or.th/en
  2. The upgrade was never intended to merely service Pattaya. The vision was for Utapao to service the Eastern Economic Corridor (ECC) which the previous military junta wrote into the constitution at a cost of $40billion. All commercial air traffic for the ECC was to use Utapao.
  3. Another petulant and dangerous Thai man-child with the IQ of a buffalo.
  4. Not since the early 90's or even before. It has been illegal since I got here in 1993.
  5. The entire top of the bus ripped off there. It's about time they started clamping down on these buses made in upcountry workshops and started enforcing proper international safety standards including crash testing etc. These types of buses are complete deathtraps.
  6. Oh, but there are. The most famous one is Srithanya.
  7. Unfortunate, the wife, and child will suffer also now. There must be some reason he didn't get legal... perhaps on the run from the UK or something. Surely can't just be laziness or unwillingness to comply?
  8. True, and if he never left or entered since then they would not have his biometrics (facial recognition, fingerprints etc.) either. He wouldn't even be in the system. Nevertheless, still a remarkable feat to stay here undetected for so long.
  9. I need your sarong, your flip-flops and your scoopi.
  10. He will be and with biometrics he won't be coming back legally, ever. A win for the Thai Immigration Police here.
  11. That's exactly how to deal with situations like this. One way ticket back to Nigeria at his own expense or stay in the IDC indefinitely or until his embassy repatriates him. Excellent work Thai Immigration Police.
  12. So is firing ping pong balls from your front bum in bars. It seems you are trying to rationalise the actions of the Thai person recording and reporting with the legality of having sex in public. It's a very weird and creepy thing to do regardless of the legality.
  13. They want your money but not foreigners here longer term. It has been this way since the 90's, when I first moved here. Seen so many, probably 95% or higher, of foreigners that planned to stay, work or do business here, leave and go home or elsewhere. Thailand isn't for everybody. With the current volumes of foreigners staying in Thailand longer term, I fully expect it to get more inconvenient, more difficult and more frustrating for the majority. Thais are experts at the passive-aggressive approach.
  14. The article presents a rosy picture of the Thai economy, but that is far from the case. The Thai corporate sector has a debt burden of 129.4% of GDP, and it can no longer rely on private funding, which means a crash is coming. Good article in the BP today about it, but most will ignore it and sleepwalk into oblivion as usual.
  15. I lived 25 years in Bangkok, and it is a lot worse for the above with the possible exception of bikies. Lived the last 7 years in Patts on the darkside and never had any bother.
  16. Another one out of the gene pool. Fortunate not to take any innocent lives with him this time.
  17. I long since stopped lusting after white women as they don't wash their private parts properly after going pee-pee.
  18. The male seems to be a black or dark-skinned man.
  19. Yeh two Thai guys on a motorbike.
  20. A myth. I've worked in many countries around the World and Thailand is the only country where I have actually seen someone getting stabbed and that was over 20 years ago.
  21. I knew a Scottish woman that was killed in Bangkok on Sukhumvit Soi 22 after a bag snatch incident that happened in the early 2000's.
  22. Very different to the late 90's and early 00's, as there weren't of them in Thailand. Most of them went to Bali. The Aussie you met back then used to be professionals, not the bogan chavs we get now.
  23. China, North Korea and Iran must be laughing their c*cks off.
  24. Thailand has fairly secure borders and does a good job of Policing them imo. They are neighbours of poorer countries and so there's always going to be major problems in this regard. Only have to look at the UK to what a disaster is happening there. I like Rangsiman, he seems to be a Thai politician that knows what he is talking about and is not afraid to bring issues like this to the fore.
  25. Only photos of faces and fingerprints were collected, not proper facial recognition or fingerprint scans.
