Levi’s to open 100 stores in Thailand before summer
Mr Meeseeks replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Agreed. I have several pairs of Levi's purchased at Terminal 21 Pattaya and they are a quality above the other locally manufactured denim such as Wrangler, Lee, MC etc. imo. I am not paying silly money for Boss or Calvin Klein's here. I think they were about 1,000thb per pair but had a buy one get one sale on when last I was there. Lighter denim and suitable for the climate here. -
Why are westerners so offended over the word farang? Get over it.

It's a British food delicacy. ???? -
Not wearing seatbelts is Thai fatalism at its best. However that attitude could easily be changed if proper education and enactment/enforcement of seatbelt laws were applied. Don't hold your breath though. Is wearing a seatbelt in the back of a vehicle law in Thailand? I know it is in Singapore and elsewhere.

They have never been taught braking distances, and are not interested or curious to find out, so no, they don't. Exactly the same with right of way, giving way to oncoming vehicles, lane splitting on motorcycles etc, etc. -

Now it is Chinese gangs but it used to be Brits, Yanks and Aussies working out of Bangkok and scamming vulnerable pensioners in 'boiler room' scams for many years in the 90's and 00's. A lot of well known bars and bar complexes were built on stolen pensioners' money and ran by former boiler room criminals. Many of whom are still living in Thailand and have Police connections, hence very few caught and properly punished even when Western authorities got involved. When I first arrived here they were prominently located in offices on Sukhumvit and Silom areas, and could be easily identified in bars around lower/mid Sukhumvit in particular. Some of them have stuck around as 'financial advisors'.

Pink ID card is usually worthless and doesn't guarantee Thai prices. A Thai driver's license is arguably better.
