It's not about it being an obstacle though, which I am sure it isn't for most. It's about an arbitrary tax imposed on foreign arrivals by a profligate, allegedly corrupt authoritarian government and at a time where the tourism industry is absolutely destroyed.
A tax of which none of the most needy and desperate people involved in the tourism industry will benefit from.
Must the first time I have seen some people agreeing with apparent total acquiescence to pay more tax too.

I have been living in Thailand for 20 years now.
Been working offshore so I have returned every month from work. 300 baht per month adds up.
I have seen many changes over the many years but what stands out is the quality of the foreigners that come to Thailand these days.
Too many Bloody pathetic human beings, they're coming with no money and no insurance.
Back in the day you'd see a few of these low life but more and more just keep coming.
Now I have to pay for these losers.
Eh?
Thailand was the destination for backpackers with no money and no insurance for decades.
As a former offshore worker myself, to be ranking ourselves above other visitors to the LOS is quite frankly absurd, given many of us are losers ourselves; alcoholics, sexual deviants, immoral cowards, unfaithful to wives etc.

"After the conference concluded, Reungkrai walked up to Yutthapong and offered to buy the watch for cash, but Yutthapong did not respond and walked out of the room."
Brilliant!
If it was a snide I would have taken the 10,000thb off him and went to MBK and bought another for 1,500thb.

10,000 bitcoins, untraceable.
Not true.
Bitcoin is pseudonymous like an IP address.
It is certainly not anonymous or private and most certainly traceable, as that is the entire point of the blockchain.

I think it comes down to the fact they are not properly disciplined and educated as children thus never fully mature or develop proper controlled emotional responses and a sense of morality.
Something is going wrong somewhere along the line that is for sure.

Every one of them is a corrupt liar.
I have yet to see any evidence to the contrary in my 31 years here.

"The situation is worrying...the more active case-finding was conducted, the more cases were found."
Number of positives will directly correlate to amounts of tests conducted.
Again, these numbers mean nothing without the numbers of tests conducted.

They are flip flopping on this now due to outrage on social media. Wait and see what the interpretation of the rules is going to be.

Just when I though this Mor Chana thing couldn't get more suspect.
Many, many, many posts on Thai social media questioning and mocking this app.
Being able to modify one's status is classic. A bit like the Feng Shui card in the red car which says "this car is green".
There were some clueless folk on here telling us there was nothing to worry about. ????♂️

51 positive tests in Samut Sakhon are probably for Thai Nationals, and the 269 will be for Foreigners.
Foreigners, I assume means the Migrant workers that are locked away behind the Razor Wire in the " Quarantine Camp ".
There was always going to be a large number of infections in " Quarantine Camp " because all the people are just herded into the place with no segregation at all.
Thats why the testing is so " Proactive ". Its going to be easy to find cases in the Camps.
Apparently some of the quarantine camps have no water or electricity at times too. Khaosod reporting on the conditions now.

And here I thought it was Thailand's hospitals, doctors, nurses, countless medical assistants, health and national doctor organizations, universities, researchers, research institutes, particularity those for genetics and infectious disease research,
Thankfully, the hospitals, doctors and nurses haven't been really tested yet, other than localised outbreaks, the worst being in Samut Sakhon so far.

Big Mistake!!
Though many of us are frustrated with the travel restrictions imposed by Thailand, me included, we all have to admit that Thailand is doing a great job of controlling the pandemic, as opposed to many western countries with greater resources. Let's give credit where credit is due.
Western countries do not have greater resources to deal with this stuff.
Thailand has hundreds of thousands of very low-paid Police, Army and other uniformed officials that can be utilised. The West does not have that luxury.
In addition, having a large conscript army and not a professional one, led by an authoritarian regime, puts Thailand at a distinct advantage over the West, in that they can use their troops in whichever manner they decide without approvals from things like due process, governance, oversight and all those irritations that come from having an armed forces answerable to the general public, instead of the other way round.

I agree with you fully. But the anti-Thais on this forum will never admit such a thing, they simply don’t have it in them despite thescore on the board.
USA 400,000+
UK. 90,000+
Thailand 70
A bit like you played a round of golf and shot 70 and others in your group shot 90,000 and 400,000 and then endlessly complained about your game and gave you endless advice and criticisms.
How stupid would they look?
Completely stupid.
If you didn't keep score, how would you know how many you went round in though?

High praise indeed.
I wonder if Thailand will consider this great new idea from Pakistan, weaponized Police squads on rollerblades?

Let's think about that ignorant statement of yours.....Oh, Yeah! We pay taxes just like everyone else that lives here.
Import, Income, Excise, sales, and VAT taxes, just in case you did not know.
As a tourist you are entitled to claim VAT back at the airport when you leave.
Just keep your receipts.

The airlines won't be running full operations for many years yet, even when restrictions are lifted and it won't ever be back to being as easy to travel as it once was.
It will be a gradual scale up to whatever demand there is, and I think it unlikely previous numbers will return for many, many years.
The most desperate sex-tourists will probably be in the first batch though.
