Diarrhoea could be heart attack warning, doctors in Thailand discover
RobU replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I my experience as a former nurse there have been many cases in the UK of people (mostly men) who have no heart attack symptoms but a desperate need to go to toilet and are found in unconscious or dead. However I wasn't aware of this link -
The definitive answer is 42. It is defined in that universal textbook 'Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy' compiled by Douglas Adams

Official Gets 50 Years In Jail For Wrongful Use Of Official Sedan
RobU replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
He got off lightly. Misuse of public office in Thailand carries a maximum sentence of death and has been so for very many years. Those members of staff who know about it and do not report it are also classed as complicit which is actually counter productive His staff must have been promised amnesty for informing on him -
To those taking the Mickey out of the police. This is a change in regulation that has been seized upon and blown out of proportion by the media. It's no big deal. The police are just moving forward to a less military style. Probably allowed because a civil government rather than a military Junta is in charge now.

Chon Buri man arrested after threatening and sexually assaulting minor
RobU replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
I agree with your sentiment. Simple execution is humane and he does not deserve that. I have said in previous posts remove his penis leave his testicles , so he retains muscle mass, and make him do permanent community service whilst also holding down a job and pay for the support of the girl and child for the rest of his life -
True. Perhaps someone on high places knew his proclivities and the 'foreign' killer will never be found

I wonder what he knew about corruption in high places and if he had been about to speak out

Hit-and-Run Tragedy: Two Cyclists Dead, Four Injured in Early Morning Incident
RobU replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Me too, however I had accommodation more than 5 miles from Uni, which I had been resident in more than one year before I began my degree course, so my grant was increased by £50 per term for 3 years in the 1980's when university education was free and you got a cost of living grant. I bought 2 brand new high quality racing bikes over that period just on the basis of £150 per year -
Mall Shooting Could Lead to Increased Gun Control
RobU replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Apparently he used a modified BB gun. I doubt if they will ban or control BB guns. They should implement the same gun control laws as the UK which is probably one of the safest countries in the world where gun crime is concerned -
I am ashamed. A man from Yorkshire my home county doing this reprehensible thing. Obviously has a problem with relationships, He couldn't find a sheep in Yorkshire who would accept his advances (they are very discerning) and moved to Australia thinking he could find less selective sheep forgetting that Australian sheep are descended from Yorkshire and Welsh stock and very proud of it. He then turned to those lovely sheep dogs that love, obey and look up to him and rely on him which he is duty bound to protect (and shoot at the end of their working life) He is obviously a Cynophile and should be locked up for life and castrated along with all the other sick Cynophiles. I hope the normal big Australian men in prison, who love their sheep like we Yorkshiremen do, show him what's what. I know my first love , Betsy, a black faced Marino sheep would agree with me but alas she passed on many years ago to that famous Indian restaurant in Croydon where she made many people happy

Good this rather nasty speculation based on zero evidence has to stop -
Same happens in the UK. When I worked in the Operating Theatres a long serving sister was promoted 2 grades to Theatre Superintendent one year prior to her retirement. The NHS pension scheme is based on a proportion of final salary plus years of service

Good move it appears the man is politically neutral. It means that there will be a new appointment next year. Big Joke has the opportunity to completely clear his name (or not), the whole debacle can be investigated thoroughly and it's instigators brought to task over the coming year. Then Big Joke can reapply.

The Embassy Consulate doesn't even confirm your identity. When I got my affirmation of marital status the Embassy Consulate did no checking whatsoever. I had to print out the document created by the website based on the information I inputted and take it with me to be stamped. My passport number on the affirmation was incorrect yet they still stamped it. I took my divorce documents, Birth Certificate etc. which the website told me I should take and they never asked for them. The mistake was noticed by the translator. I demanded the consulate give me an early appointment to ratify the amended document. The consulate boss gave me a rollocking for demanding the appointment, said I should have been more careful, asked me if the new document was now correct, still didn't check it with my passport or the other documents and simply stamped it there and then. £50 for 5 seconds work, a meaningless stamp to make a document look official
