It still could have been reversed and the law (if there was one) struck off the statute books. Such a law would have to be passed (and struck off) by parliament so it was a fair democratic process. What did happen was that the billions of dollars he made which would probably have made him the richest person in Thailand was diverted to 'government' coffers where it could be appropriated by the backers of the military Junta that seized power

I pleaded ignorance about Thaksin in another post. I was kindly directed to a number of articles on the web and did some research myself. What I discovered was that he was guilty of 1. Selling his company to a bunch of filthy foreigners 2. Making far too much money from the sale If the sale had been illegal he wouldn't have been able to sell the company in the first place and any sale would have been reversed (which it wasn't). He was also guilty of not suffering fools and having drive and vision. He was guilty of creating the current Thai health service which gave universal healthcare to millions of poorer citizens (again it has not been reversed). He was extremely guilty of wanting to tax the rich in order to fund social and healthcare for the poor.

Here's a thought flying in the face of many people's opinions. If he was already wealthy when he joined the RTP doesn't that make him less prone to corruption, because he doesn't need the money.

One million baht is about £23000 or $28000 which in my estimation is a reasonable amount to charge for her upbringing considering that it costs over £250,000 to raise a child in the UK. Providing she has no children and has not been married before. If she has been married previously or has children then the family is practicing extortion. Since SinSod has already been paid by the family of her first husband.

This is not about semantics. Castration is removal of the testicles ONLY I was pointing out FACTS based on that definition your warped definition is showing your ignorance. You are the one playing stupid sematic games and insulting me, Grow up! I don't care if he dies either but I would prefer him to live and be tortured every day for the rest of his life or just a penectomy then set to work as a labourer under permanent supervision keeping his testes would maintain his muscle mass so he could be used more effectively in his labour.

Sorry you are wrong, I spent 10 years as a registered nurse in urology. Castrated males are definitely capable of getting an erection, it's not a function of hormone level, and the testosterone produced by the suprarenal glands can actually ramp up after castration. Paedophiles enjoy the dominance, they simply claim to 'love' children to cover their despicable behaviour. They perhaps don't get sexual pleasure (which is questionable since the nerve endings to the tip of the penis are still functional and they can still ejaculate seminal fluid from the prostate gland) but still take intellectual pleasure in having a child helpless in their power.

Thai Workers Are A Joke
RobU replied to Brewster67's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
In the UK I had a 4 ring zannusi induction hob the body of the hob was in a hole in the worktop and the edges of the glass plate rested on the worktop supporting the whole thing exactly as the manufacturer instructed Absolutely no problems with heavy pans on the glass the edges of the glass easily supported it. I believe this 8s what was intended -

PM tells police of stationary car to turn engine off
RobU replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
Big problem with keeping a car running whilst stationary for a long time is that exhaust gases can leak into the cabin there have been cases of people getting carbon monoxide poisoning in the UK and it is recommended that motorists switch off the engine off if stuck in a traffic jam especially in cold weather when the car heater is on -
Weighing passengers to become standard for Bangkok Airways

Thai Air Force In Joint Drill With US Air National Guards
RobU replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I have nothing but contempt for US Air National Guard since they destroyed UK tanks in Iraq (the family of one of the men they murdered lived down my street) and shot down UK aircraft. They are undisciplined Cowboys. In a live fire excercise in the UK one of my colleagues instructed the US aircraft to break off and return to base. The response of the Jerk flying the aircraft was "I'll just have one more try*, he put ground personnel in extreme danger. -
point to Note CASTRATION DOES NOT STOP SEXUAL PREDATORS FROM RE-OFFENDING Castrated men can still get an erection Castrated men can still ejaculate because the bulk of the semen comes from the prostate gland (Prostatic Fluid) Many sexual predators do not do it for pure sexual pleasure they do it for the pleasure of dominating a helpless victim seeing their victim's fear and terror gives the predator an intellectual buzz. They are psychopaths.

Castration does not stop a man from getting an erection. It was demonstrated many years ago where many men went on to re offend after chemical castration, I believe it was in one of the Nordic countries. Often with these men it is not about sexual gratification it's about the sense of power and pleasure they get from having a helpless victim

Not top to bottom just the top those at the bottom have to do as they are told. It's the politicians, high government officials and higher police officials. Corruption here starts at the top the people who work for them have to toe the line or lose their jobs. It seems that the educated classes are the most corrupt here.

It's not a dowry A dowry is paid by the brides family to the husband to hold in escrow for the wife in primitive societies where women are not allowed to inherit. I.e. the closest male relative inherits her husband's wealth and property. The dowry is then used to support the widow. In cases where the man decides to divorce his wife (in those same societies women cannot divorce their husbands) the dowry is used to support the divorced woman. This is a corruption of an honourable tradition called SinSod where the wife is adopted into the husbands family and the wife's family is reimbursed the cost of her upbringing. It is only paid once, if the woman has been married before or has children the it should not be paid

Thai food’s bold blend of flavours: A culinary delight with a fatal bite
RobU replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You mean Black (or white) Pudding made in Yorkshire. The generic name of Blood Pudding let's the cat out of the bag that Yorkshiremen are actually Klingons in disguise. I'm having a devil of a job getting my wife to serve me bloodworms, Thais just don't seem to understand foreign quisine -

Pulse oximetry is taken at the finger tips. What they mean is that his oxygen saturation levels were very low probably below 90% which means he could have died in prison if not treated. He probably has a severe pulmonary disorder or severe congestive heart failure. This answers the question why he came back. He wanted to come home before he died.
