Thailand has been very fortunate, to date! Until there is a widely available vaccine, there should not be any tourism anywhere in the world. Asking Thais to give up their grandparents for the sake of tourism is not really an option. My children in Texas (USA) are in fear every day!
Never forget that money is king over here and they will let back tourists back just before the country goes belly up no matter what the farangs think over here

Good luck with that...not many countries do consider these couples. I see many hassles with that
Once the relationship is established, if it can be proven, what kind of visa will be issued ?
A crucial matter, which may upset some, the list includes gay couples as, they too, are not tourists but lovers.
555 and that is only the tip of the Iceberg
When farangs with families can't get back here the are very unlikely to let it men who have girlfriends who work in bars and have more than one boyfriend

I have it on good authority, that they ARE already back!
Groups of Chinese are roaming freely in Siam Paragorn or on Samui.
Where they come from and how they got in?
Well ...it seems to be an unsolveable mystery...
When the CCP tell the junta to jump the junta say how high.
Thailand is a vassal state of China and China call the shots.

Yes and the same as Vietnam, fake figures and covering it up until it gets out of control.
Vietnam will let tourists back in before Thailand just so they can get some of that tourist money that's sitting in banks in Western countries at the moment that Farang tourists want to spend in this part of the world
-
They really need to make it easier for the expats with wife's and families to get here here without jumping through hoops.

If Thailand wants farangs to return they need to hurry up and stop expecting farangs to jump through hoops to get a visa

If Thailand wants Farnangs back they will have to be a lot more Farang friendly than they have in recent past by and not expect them to jump through hoops

Chinese come and go to places Chinese own! The money made goes straight back to China Thailand hardly get a bean!
That is so true.
The vast amount of money that Farangs spend here stays here creating jobs for the Thais.
Farangs also sent money back here for their wifes and girlfriends when they are back in their home countries, which helps the Thai economy

It's doing no harm by keeping up these practices.
If that is the case they could let tourists back in and make them obey the same rules

And the rest of the world? Only the Chinese? Bizar. Has he not noticed that besides the covid-19 new virusses did arise in China the last 2 months? Anyway good luck with that. It is obvious they do not want the "farang" back in Thailand.
The money Farangs spend here stays here. The little bit of money that the Chinese spend here finds its way back to China. Farangs spending money here benefits Thais.

People are now more aware than ever of the politics and corruption in Thailand, they hear and read about all the safety 'mishaps' and they know a country flooded with Chinese tourists is not an attractive proposition.
A majority of the money that Chinese tourists spend here ends up back in China.
The money Farang tourists spend here stays in Thailand.
Stop expecting Farang tourists to jump through hoops to come here and they will return. Keep all these hoops in place and the Farangs will spend their money elsewhere creating jobs and wealth. in that country.

Does anybody know how people Thailand has tested for Covid-19?
I did see a comment that Thailand has so far tested 700,000 people and that GB has tested 15 million people. IF true that is serious food for thought.

December 2020 is when they start to realise the economy is in serious trouble. By February Thai's will be asking how do you spell 'recession' in English!
The government will do need to do a lot than they are now to save the economy and the country, and before December.
No tourists and a overvalued Baht are destroying the country.
-
I say again tourists and Non O people will not return to Thailand under these rules which in affect means more job losses for Thais.

Doubt it.
One other country have vested interests in Thailand. They are placing in puppet leaders across the continent, removing any that are against them (see Malaysia). It's a modern day empire.
Welcome to the United States of China
Agree. Thailand has become a vassal state of China under the Junta and when China says jump the Junta say how high.

The soldiers government will need to do everything that is mentioned on #2 before any tourists comes to Thailand.
Does any Thaivisa member think that all the nonsense including the $100.000 insurance farce will continue once the virus is over or controlled?
If the government thinks that tourists will return with all these hurdles in place to enter the country they are deluded

No. It doesn’t sound like an attractive option. But it means there is a way in. The country is open for tourists. Some tourists.
Mate people won't come back under them conditions. They will find somewhere else to holiday or just stay home and holiday.
People who work at airports in Thailand are going to lose their jobs through lack of tourists.
Taxi drivers will have a job to make ends meet with lack of tourism in Bangkok.
Hotels and restaurants will close though lack of tourists and what about the people who supply products to the hotels and restaurants, they too will find themselves without work through lack of demand.

I see bali and the Philippines are welcoming tourists now and they have active cases why would international tourists come here and jump through thai hoops just to visit unless they change it they will be so far behind they will never catch up in the short-term anyway
Exactly. people will go where it's easier to go and not jump through hoops.

The government might have to re write the tourist immigration rules first .concerning, health insurance covering Covid or not, visa or no visa, visa on arrival or not, certificate to fly. Seeing how fast they work, that might take ages. Then, flights must once again become available . And who can enter ?
I can't see any tourists coming until they ease these rules, and anybody who works in the middle east or anywhere in the world with a 28 day rota is very unlikely to want 14 days quarantined in a overpriced hotel. Also men with Thai wife's are hardly liable to return for 90 days and spent 14 days quarantined when they have their own homes.
IF Thailand is serious about getting tourists back and men married to Thai ladies there will have to be a serious rethink, otherwise tourism to Thailand will go the same way as the dodo.

I would suggest that IF Thailand wants to open up it's border for tourists before the Christmas and new year period it does it soon otherwise the Farangs will make other holiday arrangements probably staying in their own countries, and that's a lot of tourist money and tourists jobs that Thailand will miss out on.

So still no independent links to back up the claim
Expats believe Thailand is correct to keep its borders closed to foreign tourists
