So, now continue to live in your little bubble with the stupid belief that Thailand have managed to fool the whole world and it´s only you that can see the truth.
Do you realize how stupid that sounds when you read it.
Good Job Thailand!Just post the independent link to back up the claim and everybody will believe it.

Its not bad at yield per hectare either:
China : 6.5 tons
Vietnam : 5.4 tons
Philippines : 3.8
Thailand: 2.8 tons
If Thailand wants to compete long term it needs to improve its farming methods
and improve the quality of the rice and reduce the value of the Baht.

So i could open a restaurant in Thailand and put a notice on the door saying NO THAIS

Thailands rice exports have been decreasing year on year for a few years now due to the strong Baht and the poor quality of the rice compared to other rice growing countries.
I'm not sure if China buys any rice from Thailand, but if it does that obviously is going to be reduced in future years. Again i say Thailand is up the creek without a paddle.

That's a fact. 3 to 5 days in Isan village's and other remote areas and i doubt very much doubt if they have post mortems

It's probably something Prayut and Co don't want to hear but the fact is Thaksin is still loved and revered by millions in the rural areas if comments I have heard are anything to go by. He was betrayed, stabbed in the back and treated very badly so they say. Is there going to be a Red shirt awakening?
Prayut and co hate the truth

Thai government are saying you will need Covid-19 insurance to travel....all the travel insurances companies i have checked exclude pandemics so who is offering cover for this...?
It's simple really. If the Junta don't want tourists them tourists will fine another country to go too to spend their money and creating jobs.
-
The Junta hates educated people as the educated people can see how the Junta are taking the country into a very deep hole which the country will take many years to get out of, it at all.

The disgraceful prices they were allowed to charge prevented me and many others from exploring the lovely island , lovelier away from the drab and sometimes dirty resorts in the absence of an honest and reliable songthaew service.
Taxi drivers all over Thailand will be missing the Farang tourists

Nobody is travelling to Thailand even if it was open so don't worry about it.
People will find other countries to holiday in if Thailand doesn't want them.
Them tourists money will create jobs and boost economies in countries that want tourists

How long can Thailand afford to keep the 2 airports in Bangkok closed, have all the staff including the Check in Desk Staff, Security Staff, Maintenance Staff and Immigration Officers etc been made redundant ?
On top of that Taxi drivers will be feeling the effects of the government actions at the airports and all over Bangkok alone worth the hotels, Restaurants and bars.
Thailand is heading into a huge financial black hole unless it gets tourists who spend money back

Such a boring island really, with very little to do, and the local are anything but friendly. You can just imagine what they are like now...I went to visit my children, and it was like the locals are blaming the foreigners for Covid, and their lack of business. Police are shaking everyone that passes by the check points, with every public place you go to visit you must sign in at the door, with you details. Good dining was scarce and very hard to find. I found it easier in Surat town to enjoy a good meal. Prices are twice what they are on the mainland, sometimes even triple as the locals want to make up for lost revenue. Again, giving off the impression that the situation is somehow our fault and not a problem we all must share going forward. Sad to see the backwards thinking process to all of this which has occurred in 2020. Domestic tourism will not assist with Samui, for the locals know the island isn't worth much consideration, especially since the local people think they are entitled to special privileges for putting the land up for sale. None of the locals work, they simply sale land or manage rental spaces, with labor coming from Maramar or Issan at best.
Yes the Foreigners who brought covid-19 here are Chinese tourists and yes they are foreigners with low hygiene standards.
Farang tourists spend money in Thailand, Chinese tourists don't.

The Thai government appear to think when the airports reopen tourists will come flooding in, what planet do they live on !In the meantime tourists that used to go to Thailand will find other countries to go to that are more welcoming than Thailand and where their spending money goes a lot further.
In the meantime unemployment will continue to rise in Thailand with exports in serious decline and no tourists.

Well, myself and a dozen friends will not be flying from Canada to Thailand
this year. There may be a couple who will go to Vietnam, as they have been
planning to visit that country for a couple years, and decided to go there this
Winter. I am on the fence for now but will think about it in November when the snow is on the
ground, and the temps will be below zero c.
Geezer
You wont be alone. Anybody who enters Thailand with these new rules needs their brains tested.
Hello Vietnam and the Philippines
-
Do the Chinese have to jump through the same hoops?
Let's be honest Thailand isn't go to get tourists for a long long time and in the mean time people will find other holiday destinations where their money will go further than it does in Thailand

With zero tourists allowed to come into Thailand there is zero chance of a 4th quarter recovery
-
With falling exports due to the over valued Baht and poor quality rice and other exports and rising unemployment and no farang tourists things are going to get a lot worse for the average Thai.

So, 10% work in the tourist industry, interesting. Not an insignificant number, but I guess the country will survive. The real problem is the social unrest this might instil, like the go to for poor people has always been the tourist thing. Take away their bread and they might get 'ornery. I'm guessing the circuses thing has ended now, going by my SO.
Try 30% plus will be nearer.

I have a bad feeling that it is going to be a long time before GENERAL tourists are allowed back into Thailand.
I usually spend the (European) winter in Thailand. As of now, I am giving it only 50 percent chance that I will be able to go there this December.
Or, am I being too much of a pessimist?!
If Bali is too far for you to travel i would put money on the fact that Vietnam and the Philippines will be opening in December at the very latest to get their economies up and running again with the money that tourism will bring in.
